I think seeing the highlights of the Texas A&M vs Nebraska game and watching Callahan and Cosgrove yelling whatever at a Husker player, was the nail in the coffin. They looked like 2 guys knowing they're going to lose their jobs. In all honesty I don't believe Callahan cared much more about NU football other than the fact it was a job. If Callahan believed in Nebraska Football, the players would believe in him. It all shows in the way the team plays the game.

It's been less than 10 years, but Remember when Tom Osborne was making the announcement that he was stepping down as Head Coach? I remember it being a sad day for Nebraska and College Football. There was a little talk going around then about Tom Osborne someday being the Athletic Director. In a down time for Cornhusker Football, it's awesome how Tom Osborne is back and will get things rolling in the right direction again.

I thought he carried the demeanor of saying, "lets get through the season and make necessary changes in the off season". I also liked what he said about how it's going to take time. This means Osborne won't just go for the "Quick Fix". Osborne does have that Father Figure look to him again. We saw that in 1995, and during the untimely death of Brook Berringer. I hope Tom Osborne stays at AD.

I didn't know that Travis Justice knew how to watch the game, I figured that he only talked to hear himself. I can imagine during the game Dave Weber was feeling for the Cornhuskers and saying nothing at all. Dave Weber from what I have seen of him on the sidelines is 100% professional. Travis Justice cheering when OSU scores? He should be thrown out for that. I'm sure it wasn't him just rooting for the other team, he was "getting off" on Nebraska's misfortune. Imagine if the PPV caught him cheering for OSU, the media would have a fit with it.

I want Tom Osborne as AD not just temporary AD either. I'd LOVE to have Bo Pelini back as our Head Coach because he'd light a fire in the players hearts, and I know that Pelini would bring in an awesome coaching staff. I noticed the talk on TV yesterday about how there is so much around Memorial Stadium with the Tom Osborne name on it, (the field, etc..) Wasn't Bob Devaney AD after the "Bob Devaney Sports Center" was built?

I really wonder if Callahan thinks he's in the NFL where you can go 9 and 6 and still be in a playoff birth. I don't know if Callahan is in such a good standing with Pederson that Pederson won't fire Callahan or what. What we as Cornhusker fans need to do is not keep thinking about the past. We need to look towards the future and how we want Nebraska to reach dominance again. I'm tired of Nebraska being dominated and the coach acting like, "Aw shucks, I'm coaching a great bunch of guys... Oh well, losing by 40+ points is still a moral victory, expect more of the same next week." In the words of the late Owen Hart, "Enough is Enough, and it's time for a change!"

I was only able to listen to part of the 2nd quarter and at 31-0 it was like you were listening to the play by play of a funeral. That's pretty much what it is though. With Callahan, the Red is Dead. I wish I could have heard the reaction of the announcers when the fans were leaving the field. Imagine if there is a "parting" of the red sea and it isn't a sold out to capacity crowd. The way this season is going, it's like I want to hit a reset button, but I guess this isn't being played on my PS2. I have been and always will be, a Cornhusker fan, but changes have to be made. I don't blame the players, I blame the coaches.

I'm looking at game stats online because it's hard to follow the game on the radio. I have to work at 1pm today so I'll have to wait to see the results. I can't believe that OSU has nearly 200 yards at the end of the 1st Quarter. I could see OSU running up the score if they keep getting the ball. I know the Huskers are better than the way they're playing. The players and coaches have to have faith in the program.

The team of the 1997 Huskers are supposed to be introduced at the game today. I haven't heard if it's before the game or half time or when. How awesome would it be if the '97 team gave a pep talk to the team of 2007? Imagine Wistrom and Peter talking to (yelling) the Blackshirts about Husker Tradition. Maybe this is the spark that the Cornhuskers need..

What would be better? Holes in Memorial Stadium or a sell out crowd making their voices heard demanding answers? It's not the players fault when they're not receiving the proper coaching.

I think Trev Alberts as Defensive Coach would be awesome! He bleeds Husker red, and Nebraska tradition, and like it was said, he'd bring back the true Blackshirts. Nebraska looked lost/scared on both Offense and Defense during the game, I was at a Brewsky's at half time watching the game and it got QUIET during the 3rd quarter. Before the start of the 4th , everyone in the bar left. I wonder if the Memorial Stadium sell out record is in Jeopardy?

On College Game Day, it was mentioned that Purify was questionable for today's game due to his girlfriend being killed in a automobile accident. I've been looking online and haven't seen anything mentioned. I feel very sorry for him. Is this the same guy who's brother was shot do death? My heart goes out to him. I hope that the Cornhuskers get the win for their fellow team-mate.

I have to work till about 915pm and will be at Brewsky's at half time, and will be drinking Bud Light, and probably will get a burger. Don't know about the throwing up part though.

I was in Missouri at the time going to school (Conception, MO), and was watching the game with some other guys from Nebraska, and we were going nuts when Nebraska got the Miracle catch by Matt Davidson. When Nebraska got the lead in OT and Corby Jones got sacked to end the game, I did a victory yell outside. Need to say, when I went with some people to Maryville in MO, I wore something other than Husker stuff because I wasn't sure how any Missouri fans might be feeling.

I think the game starts at 7pm, but if you're watching it from KETV in Omaha, there will be a "Big Red Zone Game Day" at 6pm. I am hoping it will be broadcast from Memorial Stadium so we can see the 85,000 Husker fans swarming in. Then, by the end of the braodcast you won't be able to hear the sportscasters.

I have talked to people around me and they have all come to the conclusion that Nebraska's "It's just like any other game" attitude they're giving off is so it doesn't give out any sound bites that will be played over and over where Nebraska has to eat crow let alone add more hype for USC. Was it back in 1987 when Oklahoma came to Nebraska and they had #1 and #2 rankings? Keith Jones or somebody at Nebraska said, "They aren't going to steal the keys to our house". Oklahoma mopped the floor with us. I could see the Cornhuskers in closed quarters intensely getting ready for USC, and eating raw meat. It's a great idea to keep a poker face when interviewed by the media. I guess this means that Nebraska will be doing their talking on the field. What's the deal with the "Porn vs Corn" mentality? All though I guess Mark May likes to "blow his wad" when he talks about USC.

Mike and Mike in the morning is on ESPN, and on the desk is a USC helmet on the left, and a Nebraska helmet on the right. It's so awesome seeing the Husker helmet sparkling under the camera lights. This is a game that all of America will be watching Saturday night. Nebraska is going to be playing in front of an intense fan base, and I have a feeling that they won't disappoint. The thing is, I don't think USC has ever come to CORNHUSKER COUNTRY. Remember what happened when the coach of Notre Dame said something about Nebraska's running game? He said something like, "I dare Nebraska to run the ball right up the middle". What did we do? WE RAN THE BALL RIGHT DOWN THEIR THROAT!! Now, USC thinks they're going to come into Memorial Stadium and push us around? I don't think so! I so hope they show the Tunnel Walk on Saturday, because the intensity level in the stands and the intensity level the Cornhuskers will be feeling as they make their way through the tunnel is gonna be awesome. Look for the Nebraska Football Helmets raised high Saturday Night. It's time to unleash the Cornhuskers!

Wicked Shadows, you should be a writer. Excellent Post. I think that USC has the mentality that, "The only team that can beat them is themselves", one of the players after the Idaho game said that USC plays at the level of their opponent. I'm wondering after watching Nebraska film against Nevada and Wake Forest what they plan to see from Nebraska? The Cornhuskers are going to be playing with such an intensity it's going off the charts. Being a 7pm game, the Cornhuskers will be pacing the locker room like a caged animal. I see the Cornhuskers laying it all on the line and giving up their bodies for the big play. Memorial Stadium is going to be intense too, I hope they have a mic going on the field so you can hear the crowd noise. I hate when you can barely hear the fans. I know the Cornhuskers are the best fans in the country, but I hope they make it a hostile environment for Booty and company.

10 point spread, what the heck about the over/under of 46. Does that mean someone thinks they might score 46 on us? I'm sure that Mark May is pissed that the odds makers even put a spread on the game.

The last thing I have to say is that WakeForest is better than everybody thinks, I mean they were the ACC champions last year. Also, what a difference a year makes. Be proud that Nebraska got out of there with a win. Last year we might have not been so lucky. Callahan would be out of his element sometimes when it mattered most, then we saw what happened at Texas A&M in front of the 12th man. The Cornhuskers finished the game with a win. Now they can concentrate on USC. Lets move on, I'm sure they already have.
