  1. No. Not that. but kinda at the fact that he came crawling back when it didnt work out just in time to be the star predecessor to Frazier. He did a tremendous job as a qb, and was an incredible competitor, but as a person, I always had some question marks on him. I attended a high school that competed against Wood River in everything. As a kid, I saw plenty of Scott and his dad Larry between football and basketball games over the course of 3 years. Two words defined them-excessive arrogance Those last two words could not be more true!!! If we make changes fine. But if Scott Frost is absolutely an arrogant f#*k and doesn't reflect anything we stand for at Nebraska. He made demands that made Bo pull the offer to him go join our staff. There is a reason Tim Beck asked him for plays this off-season and Bo refuses to talk to him. I haven't read this whole thread, but put Scott Frost's resume on paper and tell me that outside of where he played CFB anyone here would hire him as HC. It's laughable Ooooh...blah blah blah....says said guy...and the sad guy's friend that he knows....Boo hoo he didn't shake your hand or something? No one cares. No one hates him more than you. Get over it. Im sorry, but the bolded part there....is basically correct. Hiring a guy at a high profile position like NU who has ~ 5 years of coaching experience at various position spots, and 3 games of offensive coordinator experience runnign the exact same thing that his previous coaches perfected is completely laughable. The only reason we are having this conversation is becuase he won a national title at NU as a QB in the 90s. If this was any other guy with the exact same credentials then you would be laughing as well.
  2. You don't neccesarily need HC experience, but you need to at least be a proven coordinator. One thing that Scott Frost does not have on his resume. If you think him being a WR coach for a couple years and an o-coordinator for 3 games makes him qualified then let me say I am damn glad you aren't AD of any college.
  3. Im still going with this is absolutely absurd. Turf toe is an injury that lingers, and we should sit Taylor if he is not 100%. Who do you think has the best chance of leading us to a B1G title this year? an 75-80% TM or a 100% TM? Give Taylor three weeks to heal up and be ready for B1G play. Saying otherwise is absolutely asinine. An unhealthy Martinez is a recipe for disaster for this offense as we rely on his running ability to slow down defenses. We saw how well it worked out when Taylor couldn't run in the UCLA game. I would prefer not to frak around with this crap against a team we should handily beat with our backup QB.
  4. Tommie Fraziers input wasn't constructive criticism. Not even close.
  5. And what if hes not ready? Im all for giving the kid quality reps but I like the senior to manage the game and give us a W we desperately need. I'm pretty sure we can win the game with either guy starting. Start the future QB, and see what he has got. We don't need a game manager, we need a future leader/starter to get experience against a lower level team if our normal guy isnt 100%.
  6. If Taylor is hurt and plays with the hesistant nature that he has the last couple weeks, HE IS NOT THE BEST PLAYER TO PLAY. Period. I am a TM fan but if he is hurt than sit him on the bench. We do not need him for this game.
  7. With Bo's job on the line the foolishness of Bo making Martinez play hurt are over. You forget Martinez was once a freshman with no meaningful snaps. What do you do next year when Martinez isn't here anymore and all your qb's have seen snippets of action? There is a reason why our backups leave because no matter what Bo plays Martinez no matter what. Have you ever had turf toe? I have. Re-read my post. I said if we handle bizness backups will be in by the 3rd anyway. If Martinez gets hurt worse, you get your wish of having plenty of time to groom unproven backups. As far as a once unproven Martinez getting thrown in? Who else did we have? Lee WAS NOT BO's PLAYER. GREENE WAS NO GOOD. He hitched his wagon to taylor and all Taylor has done is break all the records and take us to 2 CCG. Is he the best player God created? NO. But he's better (especially given all that has gone on this week) to lead the team. We have a bye next week. If we handle business, he won't be in past halftime anyway. I'll say again, absolutely not. We want to have a completely healthy Martinez for conference play. Playing an unhealthy Martinez is just going to slow his recovery. I don't care if he plays 1 quarter or 4, if hes not completely heathly he should not start the game. Lets go look at Braxton Miller. He knows the offense better, so they definitely should have started him last week even injured right? RIGHT? No. Let him heal up. Our best chance for the B1G championship is with a Martinez who is 100% healthy for the run in November. Rushing him now is absurd. Also, as far as this Martinez not a good QB argument goes. He isn't the greatest QB to play, but he isnt the worst. His stats are very good but he is also a 4 year starter. There are very few QBs out there in big time programs that start all 4 years in thier career. I don't care how you spin the stats, Martinez isn't a pocket passer, and needs his wheels to make him an effective qb in our system. End of story.
  8. Totally expected. 1 - Hyperbolic claim thrown out 2 - Claim is disproved 3 - Excuses and conditions are applied because people don't like the answer 4 - ??? 5 - Profit Quoting 4 games from 4 years of college football experience is not disproving anything. As I said, I am a martinez fan and I think he fits well with what we do in this offense but he needs to be able to run the ball to effectively to keep good defenses honest. Martinez does not have the pinpoint accuracy or football IQ to completely pick apart a good defense with just his arm. Off play action and such, he can certainly be dominating through the air but beyond that. No.
  9. Ridiculous. Martinez isn't a pocket passer. His legs are his best weapons. If he can't run the defense will just sit back and not rush since he wouldn't be a threat with his legs. Martinez isn't good enough to beat a defense with his arm the entire game. Oklahoma St. 2010 Southern Miss 2012 Northwestern 2012 Minnesota 2012 All terrible defenses. How did that go against UCLA this year? I don't care what you say, Martinez is not a pocket passer and cannot defeat good teams with his arm alone. I'm a Martinez fan but then guy is not good enough to sit in the pocket and pick apart defenses when the defense does not need to worry about his running ability.
  10. All of those football coaches had more than one year as a coordinator. And Pelini didn't? I'm very confused by the point you're trying to make. He is stating that Frost having less than 1 year of coordinator experience is reason why he should never even be considered for as high of a profile position like the HC of NU. He is stating that Bo has had years of being a proven coordinator before getting a head coaching gig, along with the other names the guys landlord stated.
  11. I think stupidity has been the main nemesis of this coaching staff, which could cause "analysis paralysis" that would appear the same as being ball less. Armstrong was the #5 rated QB in the country. Oregon offered and wanted to pluck him out of Texas similar to what they did with LaMichael James. Given the style of offense they run, that should tell you something. TA also goes about 220 pounds, Frazier came on campus weighing 180-190. What I am getting at is TA is more physically mature and already took a shirt to learn the system. The play calling when he finally got in should tell you something, this guy can really move the ball with his feet. He's confident and elusive. He can throw on the run. All the types of problems with TM's game appear to be TA strengths. Check the film, that Texas 5A ball he's dominating, second largest division. Assuming he can't throw well is a mistake. With respect to playing RK III, I get it, people want the local kid walk on to make good, what a story. I am more concerned with winning this year and next, and I think TA gives a better chance for that. You say RK III is a better passer, well I don't care a mobile QB can be a less accurate passer as long as he doesn't turn the ball over. TA threw barely any ints in high school, incredible 29 to 2 touchdown to int ratio. Nothing against RK III, but if we are ever going to get back to a conference championship level, who do you think is really going to get us there? I really hope we don't see a boring "game manager" performance from RK III while TA rides the pine Saturday. As has been mentioned, why do you think we keep losing highly regarded recruits to transfers. If in doubt, go TA! I agree with this 150%
  12. Legitimate points, and I am not claiming Scott Frost would be a good hire. He could be, but nobody on this board has any idea whether or not he would or wouldn't be and to claim otherwise means you're either far too arrogant or you should be an athletic director. All I'm saying is, if Scott Frost wouldn't be a good hire, the reason wouldn't be because he has no head coaching experience. Every successful head coach has been hired without head coach experience at some point. True enough, but one thing all new coaches have is years of coaching experience as proven coordinators. A point that Frost hasnt gotten to yet.
  13. There is a difference between no head coaching experience, and having only 3 games as an Offensive coordinator under your belt. Bo had years of defensive coordinator experience. Scott Frost hasn't proven ANYTHING as a coach yet.
  14. Id much rather see TA start. I like RK and all and don't think hes a bad QB, but TA is the future, get him playing time now and we are better off next year becuase of it.
  15. Nebraska up 21-3 has only to keep doing what it was doing to win that game. You sound as if this UCLA victory was inevitable at all times in the game - and it very clearly wasn't. Down 18, UCLA needed Nebraska to collapse to win that game. Nebraska obliged. This mantra you keep selling that UCLA's athletes were clearly superior to Nebraska's is false. The teams are pretty evenly matched athletically. Exactly. UCLA didnt and doesnt have superior athletes to NU. They are right about even across the board. UCLA is a good team but they aren't as superior as Bruins fans beleive them to be. I wish your team luck the rest of the year but the arrogance is getting a bit old.
  16. I haven't lowered my expectations at all, but I try to be realistic and look at the entire picture. It's unrealistic to expect national titles every year but conference titles are a different story. Bo has gotten us to 3 conference title games and has a chance to do that again. I'm not going to go out and tar and feather the guy 3 games into the year becuase we aren't ranked. His recruiting classes are getting better and has a ton of talent on this team this year. How about we go through the year and see what happens?
  17. Im sorry, but Tommie can go jump into a dumpster fire for all I care. Coming out like that and calling directly for coaches heads and such, Bo is right, we don't need him. Is there room for for criticism with this team? Sure, but how Tommie went about it is pure bullsh#t. Bo has been open to many former players and respects the vast majority of them but if you come out and make these types of comments, you deserve the comments that Bo gave. We don't NEED Frazier, we don't need that type of negativity and distractions surrounding the team. It's not all roses around the university, but F that noise.
  18. If only he would release who... Then we can tar and feather the MF'er.
  19. Exactly this. Just the thought of hiring Scott Frost as the HC sickens me. He is an alumni and a national championship winner but in no way shape or form is he ready to be a HC anywhere, especially Nebraska.
  20. I would not. If Taylor is anything less than 100% sit his ass and play Armstrong. We need Taylor completely healthy for B1G play becuase if his running ability is completely hindered like it has been this year, we are going to lose more than we should. Sit his ass until he is healthy and can be the running threat that he is known to be. This mentality of playing him if he says he can go, or playing him injured is asinine. I appreciate the kids heart but he is not a pocket passer and cannot beat people with purely his arm. He needs his full running ability to be a successful QB on this team. Period. I will be completely disappointed with this staff for the first time if TM plays this weekend and is not 100%.
  21. Coach in training, coach in training, No way in hell do I want RS anywhere near the head coaching job of NU,
  22. Damnit, are you guys still butthurt about those comments he made? Get over it. It was two years ago.
  23. Im in agreeance with this. This entire thing was blown out of proporation. I can't say that I have never talked sh#t or gone off on a group of people behind closed doors before. We are all human, thats what makes some of these reactions from "fans" completely ridiculous.
  24. As I stated, I was never talking about the majority of fans, as the biggest a$$hole$ are typically the loudest. That goes for anything, religion, politics, sports, etc. My point still stands that some fans are completely irrational about every little thing. As I said, you can be critical of the team and coach but there is a certain way you should go about it if you are a part of the supposedly greatest fans in college football.
