  1. This whole situation reminds me of a real life issue I've had recently. My good friend and his wife were going through a divorce, but because of their expenses, had to share their house for 10 months before it finally sold. Neither could afford to move out and still pay their half the mortgage. Those 10 months were hell. My wife became good friends with his wife over the years and they stayed in touch and every time they talked, she couldn't stop going on and on about how much she disliked him, how he was a slob, a loser etc.etc.. Him, the same thing. These guys litteraly had to set up a schedule where they would take turns using the kitchen and living room. They just couldn't be in the same place at the same time together yet were forced to live under the same roof. My experience from that leads me to believe neither side is totally to blame or is blameless in this. It's just a bad situation and we just need to go our own way. In a few months we will never have to think of them again.
  2. Earlier I read articles on how Nebraska was pathetic for having an "us against the world" attitude about the big 12. Now, I read articles about how the entire big 12 is rooting for us to lose. Hmmm, all very confusing. I guess even paranoid people can have enemies.
  3. After careful consideration and deep reflection, I've decided that I have no clue who will win. I'm just going to be rooting for the good guys as always.
  4. Agreed. Not sure who the OP was referring too, but I haven't considered us elite. And, by no means, did I brush over the N. Dakota st. game. In fact, that game was an eye opener that even with Martinez, this offense was still capable of imploding at any point, vs. any opponent. We're about where I thought we would be.
  5. To me, it's a chicken or the egg theory. Which came first, the refs started punishing the team for Pelini going ape poo on them, or did Pelini start going ape poo on them because they were punishing his team? That's what bothers me most about this. Everyone who isn't a Husker fan who watched, thinks it was a complete over reaction to a single game. While Pelini was reacting to an entire season of bad calls and a suspicious lack of calls against the other team.. F it. I'm not one of the guys who cares what the country thinks about us. This who;e referring to ourselves and our program as "classy" is so self stimulating and lame. Bo acted the way many of us wanted him to act and I don't think he should be apologizing to Taylor, the league, officials or us "fans" who seem embarrassed that our good names got soiled.
  6. That's exactly how I heard it from watching the press conference. Bo didn't apologize for yelling at him, nor for getting caught. He just said it should've been done privately. I suppose part of that is because is so it doesn't look bad. Mostly it's so you don't have everyone asking "What did Taylor do?" and making Martinez look bad too. Lightly? Really? He got screamed at, face to face, and his chest poked. If Bo knocked him down and banged his head against the turf, would that be a moderate dressing down? Since I don't know what Martinez did, I have no idea what he deserved, but that wasn't "lightly". And it should've been done privately. Boo hoo. Taylor is a big boy. He got his pads poked. OMG! I wouldn't blame him if he sued Pelini and quit the team and quit school and needed to be placed on meds for depression! That poor young man. He'll never be the same. He was humiliated in public and quite honestly it was the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. He gets hurt and then yelled at. How inhuman can Bo be? To quote Finding Nemo: "Isn't there another way? He's just a boy!" +1 This has gotten out of control. I remember getting dragged around the sideline as my coach had a fist full of my face mask and he was personally escorting me to my spot on the bench. And, my parents were sitting about 30 ft. away. Oh, and that was at Lincoln High in the mid 90's, have things really changed so much? Boo hoo is right. He got his rear reamed. And personally, I would have taken that chewing to a benching any day of the week.
  7. After the press he got Saturday, I wouldn't worry about that at all right now. Not saying he would or wouldn't leave, just saying I doubt he has many options at the moment. Agreed. His behavior was obviously not fireable, but it came pretty darn close to making him unhireable. At least for a little while.
  8. I must have missed the first go round. I know he switched high schools at a record pace. Maybe this is who he is. Things don't go well, run away. (thanks in advance for the neg reps for saying that)
  9. The article says he missed a mandatory meeting today. Which in turn led to the speculation that he had quit. I'm not big on rumours either. But often times, there is truth in this stuff and the rumours only blow that truth out of context. My guess is there was-is something there and it's being dealt with.
  10. Bo pelini just confirmed he's still on the team.. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/campusrivalry/post/2010/11/nebraska-bo-pelini-taylor-martinez-quit/1
  11. I can't explain it other than what I said in my original post.. I will say, however, any theory that is based on a deliberate "fix" would be saying that men like Bebbe, Refs (who are made up largely of professionals, doctors, lawyers (bad example) etc. have all decided to risk being arrested for a conspiracy to defraud, the loss of their careers and the very life of this conference, by cheating on purpose. There is obviously something going on this year that can't be explained any other way than to say we are getting hosed by bad officiating. I just tend to believe it's the result of anger clouding the judgement of those officiating and not an actual conspiracy. As someone else pointed out, we're getting "jobbed" either way. But imo there is a more logical explanation to it than a conspiracy from the top down.
  12. Sorry if someone has shared these thoughts elsewhere and I missed it, but bare with me. I have a close friend who is a big fan of my team's arch rival in baseball (me Giants he Dodgers) and we watch games together a lot. I've always laughed at how we can both see a pitch thrown, sitting right next to each other on the couch, and I can see a called strike on his player as being an obvious strike, and he can see it as a clear ball that was nowhere close. It's human nature. If you dislike one side or favor another side, you will see the result you want in almost every close play. If you want to see a late hit, you will. A hold, pass interference, etc.etc. Now, here we are. The team that almost caused every big 12 official to be jobless this season. The team that, at the least, has weakened the conference they rely on to keep them employed. I'm not a big conspiracy guy and I don't think there was some self destructing coded message delivered to the officials this year to tank us whenever they got the chance. But I do think we are the enemy and, human nature being what it is, the refs are seeing what, (perhaps even without knowing or at least admitting to themselves) they want to see when we play.

  15. What I learned. We're still not consistent enough on offense. We've seen this the last couple years. We didn't have the highs last year that this offense has had, but in the same way, we're capable of shutting ourselves down at any moment vs. any team. N. Dakota st. and Kansas have held us to the least amount of points this season of any team we've faced. Sorry, the defense we played had nothing to do with it. And until we find that offensive consistency, we'll remain a step below the elite in the Country.
  16. If it's so annoying quit watching it. "Their coach" managed to get a bunch of underdogs that major programs didn't want to beat Texas (something NE failed at every time but once) and take Nebraska into overtime. Instead of kicking down other people's sand castles why don't you try admiring how much he's managed to get out of his players. Lighten up Francis, I'm just having some fun. You too. Me too. Gotcha....

  18. ....I'm so proud!! *sniffle sniffle* I'm so proud! To have beaten your coach.. RIP that annoying video.
  19. One other thing that I would ad is: When you replace a Qb that running is his strength, for a QB that passing is his strength Why in Gods Name would you keep running the F-ING Zone Read? I know that our recievers were dropping the ball which is inexcusable, but having Zac come in and run the F-ING ball is even more inexcusable. Taylor could have finished this game the same way. Why even take him out? Now we have a freshmen that has lost even more confidence because of the coaching staff. Sorry that is NOT how you get your F-ING spark!!!!! I have only small issues with the play calling when Lee came in. In the end, how do you build a scheme, down by 17, when your receivers won't catch anything you throw to them? You put Lee in and hope he makes better reads and gets momentum going. Which he did. I'd like to see anyone make a gameplan that looks good against one of the best defenses in college armed with receivers who can't make a catch.
  20. 4. Roy Helu can be added to the "can't produce against good defenses" list. He seemed to be looking for a place to fall.
  21. If we want to talk about play calling, maybe we should talk about earlier games. Apparently holding back on "opening up the playbook" and not getting our receivers into the game all year cost us today?
  22. Play calling put our receivers into position to score how many times? This game is on the receivers, period.. You can point out this or that. But in the end, if they catch the ball, we win.
  23. Great read.. My favorite part.. There has been alot of recruits recently that could take a lesson from him. He made a commitment and never considered wavering on his word. Even though nothing but a "shot" was promised.
  24. This isn't about rankings, perception, what others think. This one, right here, is between us. This is wrong that needs to be righted. This is personal.
