  1. Just think, in 07 we could only get I Bleed Red and his playing credentials to post on this board. Now we're getting coaches! Progress! Absolutely! True-blue cfb coaches who just can't understand why one qb plays a lot more than the other. It just doesn't get any better! Why is there need for personal attacks? (awaits personal attack) LOL. I was thinking the same thing. I guess if you dont have at least 2000+ posts, and you try to fit in a conversation, you're just an idiot? It has nothing to do with post count whatsoever. I'm just so sick & tired of people trashing our qb endlessly. "Carnes should be our stater", "Tmart s*cks", "Carnes would be starting but he's in Bo's doghouse", "Tmart isn't a real qb" etc, etc x 10,000. Why it's perfectly ok to attack our own players but not internet posters is just over my head. I think Bo & Beck know a little something about cfb. They're at every practice and there's a good chance they just might know who our best qb is.
  2. I think you either know some insider scoop "or" you're a very, very lucky at guessing. Or, I should say I sure hope you are as I've heard the basically same thing from two people I trust. If you're right SreeterCL, I fully agree this year's offense is going to be flat-out nasty. As you say, when he busts a couple warp7 50+ yd TD runs you can bet the ranch opponent DCs are going to compensate in a big, big way. We'll see lots of wide, WIDE open wrs to be sure. ps....high ankle sprain on one leg, turf toe on the other.....I've been told it takes awhile sometimes for those two types to come around.

  4. So what? We can still bitch & whine about it.
  5. Hummmmmmmm! Good point! Hmmmmm........if they're to lazy to earn the glory, they can hope the door doesn't hit them on the ass on the way out. Yes, even if they're 4 or 5 star recruits.
  6. I too can hardly believe anybody would pay money for the fluff junk those guys crank out seven months a year. Even during the season, what great insight do they bring? Nothing. Just some silly article they'll try so very hard to spin as controversial. I don't miss them at all.
  7. I think it will be interesting how our style will match up with y'alls type of offense. I think we're gonna try to mix it up a lot and throw some unexpected blitz's in to try to contain Burkhead. Martinez is a whole different story. If Taylor has his freshman speed back then yes. That's the big question for sure.
  8. SRex, Tmart, Maher, Bell, Cotton, Long & Caveman (really...I believe it! This is his year.).
  9. Exactly! I don't know what offensive scheme we are either but agree year two of it is a good deal for us. Oline-Oline-Oline.......I don't expect them to be anything close to great but there should be some real-deal improvement. Is it Sept yet??
  10. Cars aren't specifically designed with killing people in mind. Guns, on the other hand, are, Mr. Strawman. Regardless, far more people are killed and disabled in cars than by guns in the USA and it's not even close, Mr. Handwringer.
  11. Exactly! The tree-huggers should be whining & sobbing endlessly about those evil cars that kill wayyyyyyyy more people than guns do. They'll never be happy until we're all in straight-jackets residing in padded cells. Of course, the outstanding results of making liquor and drugs illegal (excepting our cash cow drug manufacturers) clearly points to the need for even more bureaucracy, jails and lawyers that outlawing cars would surely bring. Heck, we have more people in jail than Russia or China combined so more regulation is definitely in order.
  12. Life would be brutal without the internet. I don't even want to think about it.
  13. All you have to do is watch the games. I have most of last year on DVR. You CAN NOT have linemen standing around at the end of the play having never touched a defender. I don't care what kind of scheme you're running, this is wrong. Anyone who says our line improved last year needs to qualify that statement with something like "at times" or "in some games." In some games we did just fine. In others, horrific. It's all on film - you just have to go watch it. Well, relative to the quality of defenses we played I'd say there was some small improvement. But just as you say it's still 10,000 light years away from what we want and for decades had. There's hope though as Bo's been recruiting the road-graders pretty seriously the last several years. We'll see.
  14. Blanket statements like this confuse me. Hoke's teams struggle on the road? He's had ONE TEAM! Ha! That's fair enough. We'll know a bit more after this year.
  15. Exactly. It was an awesome display of stone-handed wrs with us dropping passes all game long.
  16. This The O-line did improve last year, wasn't as noticeable because we were playing against better defenses. This line has a good amount of starting experience and we'll have some solid young talent in the mix. Of course the huge ??? is center. Won't be particularly good there but if we can hold our own this should be a solid line. Yepper. That's how I see it too.
  17. That would make the line pretty young: LT LG C RG RT SO RFR JR JR JR That's too young. It's stupid to use an exceptional/aberrational source as a reference point, but when we deserved the Pipeline moniker in the mid 90's, those kids were all 4th year juniors or 5th year seniors. With another upper-classman right behind him. Depth takes time, true. And it isn't like there is zero exception to the rule. But I hate seeing zero seniors on that list. I do too and there's no dodging that. However, I do think we've got better talent and depth with the big uglies that we've had in a long, long time. "Patience my ass, I'm gonna kill somebody!!" Lol! Oh, I understand completely. But there's real-deal hope coming soon is my guess. GBR!!
  18. Is that right? I don't even remember seeing Pensick play. Oh boy, someone tell me he's road-grader. Please?
  19. It's not necessarily how many catches Marlowe had, but the situations surrounding those catches. I broke this down a while ago and I don't have the spreadsheet in front of me right now, but something like half of those catches were for first downs, most of those half were on third-and-long, and I think 25% of them were on go-ahead scoring drives. Marlowe hasn't always been flashy, but he's clutch, and he's one of the fastest guys on the team if (and this is a refrain we hear all over the team) IF we can get him into space. That's a scheme problem, not a Marlowe problem. Clutch does not equal consistent...Enunwa and Bell both had more first down catches than Marlowe had total catches. I'm not saying Marlowe isn't a quality player, but there is better talented receivers on our team. I think sometimes we over-hype the undersized, speedy white guy. I think we frequently over-hype the fast, speedy black guy who can't remember what route to run, drop passes, can't block a pylon & dogs it in practice. For me, I'll take the motivated purple Martian who knows his routes, is a determined blocker and c-a-t-c-h-e-s the ball.
  20. I bet that "if" Tmart's gap speed is really back (I see DaSkers indicating it is whom is almost always gold, among many others) he rushes for over 1,000 yds easily. That, by itself, would be a huge additional serious weapon for our offense and with the young road graders coming on line.....well, it could really be something. Again, if he's got the warp 7 ready to roll there's zero chance Carnes, Armstrong, etc is going to beat him out. Sorry haters. A big part of his passing numbers is dependent on our WRs somehow not dropping so many passes so who knows regarding yds, ratio, TDs? But oh boy.........Reed, Turner, Cotton, Bell, etc....wow. It could get wild in a big, big hurry. Just catch the ball compadres'. Don't worry about the flashy moves after completion. Just c-a-t-c-h the ball. I think Beck is going to send many Big10 DCs to AA rehab soon.
  21. Ladies and Gentleman i have done the impossible. After many long hours of torture, i got chris to take a sip of kool aid, imagine what he could do with a full glass. Now we have to have a good season, if we dont we may lose you forever. Teacher i think your pretty spot on as well, you should win every category. If you dont this board will go full retard and we may do something stupid like fire our head coach. If your friend wins we would be lucky to go 8-5. You sir, are a magician.
  22. Oh boy...this all too confusing to me. I guess I'll just have to wait awhile to see what's really going on. The center position is critical to be sure but I'm reasonably confidant Barney, Stai & Garrison have a clue. An improved Oline is precisely what the doctor ordered. We'll see....
  23. I would think so too. I mean, our DEs have been essentially non-existent for many years. Besides Suh & Crick we've had very little production from the DTs too. Yes, Bo is a hard-core wizard at setting up the defense to stop the pass but no coverage, now matter how great, can hold up forever due to zero pressure. C'mon Bo, at least on 3rd and longs....shoot somebody at their qb that runs like a scalded dog.
