  1. I probably missed something, as I have been busy with school and work, but what happened to Phil Dillard? I haven't heard much talk about him this year...
  2. Guys....Now, if we all take a player, nobody will have a full team! A few people are going to have to volunteer to sit this one out. As a matter of fact, I think two teams are all we need for the spring game. haha
  3. Not sure if we want to put the QB at risk like that. Maybe if there is no blitzing...but then that kind of takes the defense off the field, doesn't it? Yeah we have several QB's, but all of them are not on the same level, and I would hate to think we would put someone out there and get them hurt, then have to wonder if they would have been the "guy" to lead the offense. I don't like the green jersey either...maybe it kind of has to be on the honor system...everyone knows who the QB is, maybe they need to remember that we would like him to live through the Spring game. I'm not saying that I think the QBs should be left to die either. But isn't it reasonable to assume that as the starting QB they will be subjected to much more violence, and have more of a possibility to get injured, by someone in a real game during the season? I mean, it's not like the Peter brothers are playing on our D right now...though God knows I'd love it if they were! It would give the coaches a chance to see what the QBs will do, and how they'll react, under pressure...just something to think about.
  4. Obviously we know the way Callahan ran the spring scrimmage...and it sucked! IMHO How do you think Pelini will format the spring game this year? Do you think we will see any green jerseys on the field? I personally think, and hope, that Bo will have the 1s vs. 1s this year. It just seems to me that it goes with his personality and the way he coaches...hardnosed and physical! Also, I'm hoping that the QBs won't be wearing those damn green jerseys. As has been pointed out in previous threads, we MIGHT be looking at a three-way QB battle. If that's the case, I think we should be testing them in game-like situations. What do you guys think?
  5. His parents are actually coaching at Parkview High School in Lincoln, NE...my little brother is playing for him. They are actually becoming a respectable team now. I know, go figure right...
  6. Hate to sound ignorant, but who is Glenn Mason? He made it to the Final Four last year. It was a Cinderella story and was in all the papers. The feel-good story of the year. No, that was his brother George Mason!
  7. I would have to say this, Texas should be below us if that happens I read this as something else entirely! As did I...but I think both are true! lol
  8. I didn't sit in the damn student section...I was sitting in the endzone with a bunch of 30-40 year olds. BTW, I know what the student sections are like (as I currently am one at UNL), and I'm not anywhere near dumb enough to sit in an opposing team's student section.
  9. I went to the game on Saturday, and I came away not every wanting to go back. I met, maybe, 10 nice missouri fans while I was in Columbia. I went into it expecting the students to be obnoxious and drunk. But I wasn't expecting 30 and 40 year olds to be joining them (in being pricks I mean). Besides the obvious, "Nebraska suck! Go home." One of the good ol' mizzou faithful tried to start a fight with me in the stadium. Luckily some of the nice fans I mentioned earlier just happened to be sitting next to us. Then, of course, after the game heaven forbid that you were wearing red. The badgering was neverending. I've never been happier to leave a place in my life! And I'll be damned if I ever go back. By my experience I would rate Missouri fans' class at the bottom of the big 12, right next to colorado.
  10. My roommate and I bought a couple of those shirts and are wearing them to the game on saturday!!
  11. I agree completely...I was thinking the same thing on that last 4th and 2. The whole WF defense was flowing towards the direction the line was blocking....Nobody was staying home on the back side, nobody! I mean I know its easier for me to say this stuff after the fact, but you would think a little misdirection would be good more than once a game. Don't get me wrong though, I like what Callahan is doing with the offense...he just confuses the hell out of me sometimes.
  12. I'll be there, on the field for the first half then to the skyboxes for the second half!!!!
  13. The guy is just an all around athlete! It doesn't matter what the sport is. He was one hell of a basketball player for his JUCO, along with football. But that's not all the guy can do...he bowled a 300 last month! How insane is that? There are people that try to do that for years and years, but never do. He starts bowling and a month later he shoots a 300. I digress...my point is, he is an amazing athlete! And we will need him to keep improving this season in order to get to where we want to go... ALL THE WAY!!!
  14. Good news, Marlon came into my place of employment last night and looked like he was feeling pretty good. He was there with what I'm assuming was his family and one of the nebraska coaches. But he didn't look like he was physically hurt in any way...take it for what its worth....
  15. I'm just hoping that one of the two, AC or Moore, goes to the Cowboys. We could use another great end opposite Marcus Spears.
  16. Yes, the seats have backs on them. That's why their stadium doesn't seat that many people. PS: I just found out today that I'll be going to see our beloved huskers bring home a Big 12 championship this weekend!!!!!
  17. I'm not aware of that rule, can you tell me where in the NCAA rulebook that is? You can't read it yourself? I'm not going to waste my time on a rule that may not exist. If I made such a statement, I would back it up with some support. Even the annoucers said that the refs blew it on that one. Maybe this will shut you up: Rule 10 under penelty enforcement states continous contact with the opposing helmet is a 15 yard penalty. It took me all of 5 minutes to google up the info to make you look like an :asshat Now move over nancy Maybe you could highlight it for me because in the 2006 NCAA football rulebook: http://www.ncaa.org/library/rules/2006/200...tball_rules.pdf I did not see it where you claim it to be. BTW, you don't have to be a jerk about it. Thanks I found in Section 9: k. No player shall continuously contact an opponent’s helmet (including the face mask) with hand(s) or arm(s) (Exception: By or against the runner). And in the interpretations: "XV. A defensive player, during a live ball, twists, turns or pulls the face mask or any opening of the opponent’s helmet. RULING: Personal foul." I guess it would be open to interpretation of the official as to whether the back of the helmet constitutes an opening. Personally, that is the first time I have seen it called. I would call the big OPEN part where you insert your head...an openning, wouldn't you?
  18. "Purify:no chance. Name the last juco transfer to win the Heisman?? or any type of transfer?" Wasn't Mike Rozier a JC guy? I thought he was...
  19. Correct...he does coach Lucky. Sorry, I had to.
  20. Hey 'ville, I will be tailgating at some friends' house around 3:30. Then I think we're going to head down to the stadium around 4:30 ish. I'm not too sure, haven't worked out the details quite yet. But I'll give you a call when I get down there to see where you're at.
  21. How about the play of one Barry Turner? He had a great game hurrying the QB also. That one hit that he put on their QB was just plain disgusting. I was, seriously, left with my jaw wide open. He hit him right in front of the student section, and you could hear it plain as day. That might have been the hit of the game, IMHO.
  22. Its about time somebody said something. That pisses me off too!!!
