  1. Double Standards? NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The difference here is this year one for Bo. Callahan got ran out after year four. He wasn't getting better, he was infact slipping. Lets see where we are in year four with Bo.
  2. Agree to disagree... I am not blaming this loss on Castille. This is just a forum to discuss the topic. You can't say with a shroud of truth that he has not had a problem carrying the without fumbling. The issue is we have two other good backs that are capable of running and haven't shown that they are prone to fumble. Why wouldyou not give them the 10 reps that Q gets. Five more apeice for them wouldn't be that much. And for the recruits... If they think they can come here and fumble every 10 times they carry the ball, we don't need them. None of them would think that stat is acceptable and if it is they probably wouldn't want to come play here abyway. And if you think this board or any other board is bad... have you listened to any of the national guys or blogs? A recruit is more prone to listen to them than us and they aren't candy coating anything for us.
  3. I would put Helu in the group that can run fluidly. The speed is something that should concern everyone. We don't have more than a handfull of it on this team and none of them even have that breakaway speed.
  4. Should he be done running the ball? How many chances can one guy be given? What a about a switch to the defensive side of he ball? He can hit, but can never hang onto the ball. I don't think he deserves another carry this year. You have two more than capable backs to carry the load in Helu and Lucky. I would like to see Castille sit the remainder of the year. Your thoughts?
  5. We're in much better shape than last year. Anyone at all notice that there were many adjustments made at the half? Last year we would have "lost" this game in the second half because we wouldn't adjust. Thsi year we win it because of the staff's ability to adjust. I am much happier at this point of the season than I was last year. We'll be much better by the end of the year than we are right now. This is a time to be excited, not to be focusing on every single thing that goes wrong.

  7. To qoute a famous comedian that also happens to be a Husker fan... I don't care who you are, thats funny right there!
  8. And I could see why. The definition of a "true" fan is hard for people to agree upon. My point is that, to question what is going on is one thing. We have all done it, even in the best of years. But to say that your tired of the team and looking at others, because they happen to be winning at the moment. At least to me, shows that you are not a "fan", maybe a fair weather fan at best. My point of true fans make themselves known when the going gets rough is "true" and OLDMAN is the definition of "fair weather" in my opinion.
  9. That just seems wrong on so many levels. Is it just me?
  10. Totally wrong! We have an "N" on our helmets and they have NOTHING! I guess its wise to look outside the inner circle (Nebraska) and get a more balanced view on a national level to form one's own opinion. I just don't see us at the top anytime soon. Is the moderator really JAMMAL LORD? Is it really hard for you to be a fan now that they aren't winning every game? If so, please take your allegance to another spot. It easy to be a fan when the team wins, but true fans make themselves known when the team falls on hard times. You OLDMAN are obviously not a true fan! Wow...I hear Missouri and Kansas are accepting fair-weather fans on their band wagon. Do let the door hit ya'...where the good Lord split ya'!!! Amen. OLDMAN if you're looking for the soup of the day, there a plenty of them out there waiting for you. The men on this team don't need your support, or lack there of, anymore. Go find the next West Virginia or whatever team is hot enough for you at the moment. By the way... you said you liked the WV option offense. That, OLDMAN, is the spread, not the option. They may run several option plays from it, but then again so do our beloved Huskers!
  11. Thats great. I hope you actually get here and can be a part of the action that day. I am biased but think that the atmosphere in Lincoln is better than anywhere else in college football. Have a great time and make sure to make some noise that day!!!
  12. He was drunk in a bar that he was not supposed to be in, was involved in an altercation, admitted that he poured beer over a woman's head, refused to follow the lawful orders of police officers, resisted arrest, assaulted police officers and deliberately damaged the officer's car. These are all by his own admission or by guilty verdict. Not enough for you, Dave? I would have been very pleased if he wasn't invited back. At the least he should have to complete substance abuse and anger management programs before he can come back. Who cares if he can help the team? WOW!!! I hope that no one ever gives you a second chance in life. You're worse than California... 1 strike and you're out must be how you see it! Glad to see you're all so forgiving, especially when you probably only know 25% of the TRUE story. I don't know AC myself, but I am willing to give him a second chance in life. Bo has said there is a zero tolerence from here on out, and I am fine with that. Either way, he is back. Move on with your life.... and don't ever get in trouble, you won't get a second chance!
  13. Were you there? Nope, didn't think so, so how can you make that statement? You can't. Do you know him? How do you know he lacks character? Most people who are wrongly accused aren't going to be happy about being put in the back of a squad car. You can't believe everything you read in the journal star, or world herald or wherever. He pleaded guilty to two MISDEMEANOR charges stemming from being accused of doing something that obviously he didn't do. I just love the "holier than though" attitude you have. If this was you or your kid you would have a different view, you can say now that you wouldn't but you would. Your comment is interesting to me. As is said below, were you there? (NO, correct?) Do you know this young man? (NO, correct?) We have all made decisions and acted as though we lacked character in life beofre. No one is perfect, and in my opinion you are lacking character for stating that he is guilty even though he was found not guilty. I agree with the poster who said quit acting holier then any body else. If she was your daughter you would have a different view, you can say now that you wouldn't but you would. Just for the record OJ was found Not Guilty. I'm not saying I'm just saying. I do believe he did show no class when he dumped not one but two drinks on the girls head. And if this were your son? He shouldn't be allowed to play anymore. He broke the law and I'm sure team rules, so sorry just like with my kids you break the rules you lose things. Should they take his scholarship away? Probably not, he should be allowed to finish his degree and move on he just shouldn't see the field anymore. IMO Just because you are found Not Guilty doesn't mean you DIDN'T do it, it could also mean that the State didn't do a good enough job proving their case. There many things that every one on this board would do differently if given the chance to have a re-do. I am sure that this young man would do things differently as well. But I refuse to put myself in his shoes and say that I wouldn't have resisted or I would have done this or that when I was being accused of something I did not do. I am just glad that I have never been in that spot to find out what I would have done... which goes to my next point. I do fault him for putting himself in a position to have this happen in the first place. Does that mean he lacks character? Probably! But it doesn't mean he is guilty. Oh, and by the way, I don't really care to have him back either. Athletes, and even the regular student body for that matter, should be able to make better dicisions than to put them selves in these situations to begin with. I am OK with however the team deals with it... as long as it's consistent and every player is treated the same way.
  14. The wave was OK... but it is OLD!
  15. Timeline: 23 Nov: Nebraska 51, Colorado 65 24 Nov: Bill Callahan fired (I think?) 25 Nov: Bo Pelini interviewed ya know, I think T.O suspected a little more than "right away" that Bo would be the choice. And as others have postulated, maybe he wasn't exactly the one doing the "deciding" either. It is interesting to learn, though, that four other guys were interviewed for the job. That's the first I'd heard of it. So five coaches in all? Maybe I'm just not remembering. If Osborne believes he was the guy, then he must have been the guy. Osborne knows more about football then most people ever have... surely more than any one on this board. As for ohers interviewed? Its not that your not remebering... you didn't hear about them for a reason and one reason only... You're not a person who had to be in the know. Meaning you weren't Osborne, Pearlman or on the search team. Get over the fact that no one called you for your opinion and welcome the staff in place either to Nebraska or back to Nebraska! GO BIG RED!
  16. They posted on a message board. Not exactly a reliable place to look for FACTS and NEWS. But I'm not saying whether this is right or wrong. But filing a lawsuit is going overboard. To: Axl Sued me... This husker fan is a jackass. He not only cut and paste the heading of the newspaper which he posted on the messageboard, he then also posted a link to a webpage that was his that he made looklike the newspapers. For someone just joking he went along way in doing it and should be punished. You may take this as a joke, but many people refuse to do so and you should understand why. If you don't, wait until the stories of you or your family ever get posted somewhere... will you think it's just a joke then after being out on the radio and other outlets? I know you wouldn't like it and anything you say to the contrary just proves you tend not to tell the truth!
  17. Who said Mark May was there?
  18. actually, I think it is only about 20,000. I think we could sell it out, if the University would do it fairly and at a price people could afford. The spring game is sold out and tickets on ebay are going for more than $100 and some of you dont think we could sell out a 100,000 seat stadium? Why not? It would be sold out in a matter of days if they announced it was being done!!!
  19. Really? A group that I go with bought 200 tickets and they gladly sold them. GBR... Lets sell it out and give the team and coaching staff a huge boost!
  20. I wouldnt go as far to say it "ruined him for the rest of his life". Its not like he is paralyzed from the neck down or got AIDS. He can still lead a successful business career even though he broke his leg doing something idiotic. Never understood why it seems most athletes suffer the worst injuries doing something most of us do on a regular basis. I suspect Willie was speaking to Wilson's ability to perform at a relatively high athletic level. Injury pretty much ruined his life???????? Doesn't sound to me like he meant his athletic ability, as he said "ruined him for the rest of his life". Not playing career or athletically. But hey, maybe that is what he meant... let us hope so anyway!
  21. Looked all over for a link... couldn't find anything! Atleast not yet! Don't jump to conclusions until anything comes out.
  22. just curious ...what were you doing there? . . . the threadstarter . . . IS MAURICE PURIFY!! Edit: Did anyone see that World-Herald article this week about Purify? It said he's been working his butt off, dropped fifteen pounds and shaved time off his 40. Sounds very optimistic. To bad he didn't like Huskers fans... he said in another article from his hometown paper that our expectations were to high. Also, wish he would have played more while he was here, but maybe he would have if he had dropped the pounds and improved his speed while here. Just not that big a Mo fan... sorry!
  23. We bought 150 reserved seats all together in the West stadium. Taking three buses from Omaha with all you can drink and snacks on the way down. Will also have an all you can eat & drink tailgate before the game. We have done it the last 3 years and it's been a great time. GBR! If you're interested in going... send me a message or an email. I'll let you know the cost and other details then.
  24. I think the big suprise was the fact that we offered him a schollie afterall and the sense that KSjUco was going after Wald as well. I just wish that sometime before I die, we get some huge last minute change of mind to go in our favor like the Michigan's and USC's of the world get every year. Heck, I get excited to just not have one of our guys go someplace else A last minute surprise for us was Tommy Frazier. That wasn't so bad.
  25. I agree, and I also can't argue with the fact that their campus is really in the perfect setting. Hopefully the Blackshirts will return so they can limit Mr. Scott's yards per game. Hey, normally I don't condone trolling other teams sites but I'm 100% against being an anonymous jerk, so a little full disclosure: I'm a Buff. Still, I really appreciate the apparent sincerity of the last two posts. Thanks. Also, I came here to ask a question and to offer a little unsolicited perspective. The latter first: Congrats on a really, really strong class first time out of the chute with Bo. Speaking from experience, it ain't easy comin' in in January and pulling off a solid recruiting class. Props where they are due. Bodes well for the future of a proud program. Now, my question: how many scholarships do y'all have to give this go-round? 27 seems like a bunch. Will some be grayshirted? Do you expect some not to qualify? I am sure that someone else knows for sure but I had heard that we could take between 27 - 31. I believ that is because of transfers and other that left early. I don't think they are looking at anyone to greyshirt... but again, someone else might know a lot more!
