  1. Thats a stretch. Im sure there is a medical team on the sideline that would get him out of the coma, just like the president on 24 last season. There is no way Keller doesnt take every snap the rest of the season. He is doing an excellent job.
  2. Those guys had it so easy, they only needed one finger to display their place in college football. our 2007 team would need 71 fingers and, well, they just dont have that many.
  3. It wasnt spelled correctly for a reason. And it wasnt really a HOAX letter. Just trying to be funny. I guess I wont try that again.
  4. You guys take everything so seriously. I said this was in another realm of possibilties. Like a what if? I was feeling a little silly earlier and this is what came out.
  5. The following letter was sent Wednesday to former Nebraska football coaches: The University of Nebraska Football Program was built by you and other coaches like you who made a lifelong commitment to coach for and support the Big Red. Because of you, Nebraska has enjoyed a tradition of excellence over the past five decades that is unprecedented and unmatched by any other team or program, including our current 2007 team. On behalf of the University of Nebraska and the Cornhusker Athletic Department, I want you to know that we appreciate your commitment and owe you our gratitude. Whether you were an assistant or head coach, from Nebraska or another state, you are a valuable member of this family and a key factor in our school's storied history of tradition of excellence. We want you to know you are always welcome in your home. Please feel free to come coach with us -- anytime. Just walk in our front door and say you are a former coach and I promise you, you will be welcomed with open arms. My office is on the third floor, and as you know, my door is always open. The football coaches are on the second floor and could use your help. The training is in the north stadium complex, feel free to help coach our players. You are welcome to come see us at work, attend practice and join us for coaching of home and away games. Beginning immediately, a limited number of sideline passes will be made available for former football coaches. You will be required to help draw up plays and offer your assisance. Additional tickets for guests will be available for purchase, if you have a friend with coaching experience that might be able to help. This welcome is for this year only, as next year the ship should be righted. I know I speak for everyone here in the athletic department and all our fans when I say we hope to see you soon. Best Wishes Tom Osbourne
  6. no more than saying the kid is coming here for any other reason. honestly if you got offered to go to LSU, why would you come here? The beaches? Be respectful to the ladies at NU. Its not polite to call them that.
  7. I dont know if someone put something in the water or what, but I agree with your post. I have always kinda liked Callahan and wanted him to succeed. I feel bad for him really, I had no idea this season could be so bad. Honestly I am following Husker football much more now than I would if we were winning. I started listening to talk radio at work and on my way home just to hear the latest rumor or tidbit about our football team. If what I am seeing from my friends and co-workers is anything like the rest of the Husker fans, Im sure we are more united now than ever. Maybe we just need to band together and support our team. Sure its fun to play around with guessing who or next coach will be. Sure its fun pointing out all the bad things that Callahan has done with play calling. I think Im rambling now and might not be making any sense. Its late and I need to go to bed. Who knows how I will feel in the morning.
  8. My 5 year old son, who has predicted the winner of each husker game, has said Nebraska will win 32-20. He also said that Texas was his favorite team, which hurt a little bit. It also hurt when he was rooting for Missouri and Texas A&M, so it surprised me when he said Nebraska was going to win.
  9. I could have swore I saw the following. The Associations Press LINCOLN,NE. - Bill Callahan went from the Big 12 Championship to the unemployment line in less than a year. The Nebraska Cornhuskers announced Callahan's firing Wednesday, just one season after he took the team within a victory of a Big 12 championship as a head coach. The team told Callahan a day earlier. He asked to delay the announcement for the players. Openly criticized by fans and the media, Callahan went 27-23 over 4 regular seasons, including 4-8 this season, the Husker' worst record since the 50's and the biggest drop by a Big 12 Championship team. He was fired shortly after Huskerboard members criticized Callahan and defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove for a bad system. Nebraska fans are not known for patience with coaches. Callahan, who earned almost a $1 million a season, completed the fourth year of a eight-year contract. The Huskers chose a buyout, so they could move on to next season. Callahan, a 2 Year NFL head coach, was hired when Steve Pedersen decided that 9-win seasons were too good for Nebraska. This season, though, the Huskers tied for the worst record in the Big 12 with the Cyclones amd Bears. They ended their season with a 210-14 loss at Colorado. There was speculation for weeks that Callahan would be dismissed. Now the Huskers areexpected to announce Bo Pelini as their next head coach.
  10. I think he meant to say "Oh it's probably too technical for Coz". No. Coz is a robot, nothing is too technical for him. He meant to say 'Coz's robotics are too technical for you', which would probably be a true statement. If you are in fact not a robotics engineer.

  12. I think you are on the wrong board. There are no Callahan supporters here.
  13. I was able to rearrange the letters in all of the Husker Vision staff and was able to spell Mick L Richards
  14. http://www.fanblogs.com/big12/003361.php In 2002, before our 3 worst seasons since the 60's, we had a mascot named Herbie Husker. He was a big, tough cornhusker. He was our mascot and stood for what our team was about. That year we went to the National Championship game. In 2003 lil red became our mascot. He was a giant punching bag. A soft, inflatable kids toy. Children loved him, fans loved him, he was a clown. We all loved how he would fall down. Herbstreet mentioned he was his favorite mascot. That year we were 7-7. I say bring back Herbie Husker!
  15. I agree its a combo of the players and coaches. If the players really believe the system will work, they need to have more passion towards the play on the field. However, if the system really was as seemless as Bill says, it would work even without passion. However, Im sure without passion we still would lose, it just wouldnt be in such grand fashion.
  16. Yeah really. You know they edited it to make our starters look good.
  17. I would like to see a mixture of the spread and west coast with a little option thrown in. Call it the West Coast Option. Run by Bo Pelini.
  18. I heard the same thing, so I believe you. I remember Bohl pretty well so the news threads went in one ear and out the other.
  19. Bill Callahan should be a motivational speaker. He really makes our opponents feel like they are the best team in the nation. He has a knack for that kind of thing this year.
  20. No. But he will be leaving to pursue other opportunities.
  21. I hope some sort of announcement is made today, so new topics can be added.
