  1. Iowa City winter has many times but horseback is preferred in middle to get on game...GBR!
  2. Robinson has a decent throwing motion...and is NOT a good passer. He's terribly inaccurate. Throwing motion, especially in college, doesn't mean much. Ask Philip Rivers.
  3. So basically if a guy is out of sight we should just assume he's injured. At this rate 1/2 the team seems to be injured! Good GOD! What happened to Turner's injury ? No I don't think you assume he's injured. However, you assume that the coaches are not playing guys on purpose, and they are mismanaging. Is it fair to assume either direction? No. What's fair is admitting we don't know everything that goes on with the football program. My post was a little tongue in cheek (in case you missed the roll eyes emoticon). I don't put much stock into Bo's "injury updates". Guys are AWOL and then suddenly we find out they are injured. If guys are dropping like flies then we need to revisit the S&C program bec. I can't ever remember a time when 4 DT's and about 4 OL got injured in a season. Something's just weird there. Also - what happened to Sirles' progress? He was a 4* and should have been busting out this year but now looks lost in the lineup after playing a lot of snaps in 2010. Ya Bo doesn't do a good job of keeping media/us up to date on injuries, especially if it's not a year ending injury. However, it is pretty common place in football for teams to get hit with waves of injuries. Happens at every level. As far as Sirles goes, I take the Tom Osborne approach to stars next to a player...they really don't mean that much and are a very skewed vision of what a player should be. Some players pan out well, others don't. Either way, Hardrick is playing pretty decent right now so I'm okay with it. just my opinion

because they are not 5 star recruits.. And they are still just freshman.. you dont need to be a 5 star to know how to catch the ball....... Exactly what I was thinking. Additionally, plenty of 5 stars don't live up to it.
  6. Well, that puts an end to this thread pretty quick. Looks like we've got to start another thread about why this guy or that guy isn't playing and how our coaching staff missuses guys, doesn't play the right guys, recruits bad...........
  7. Didn't see this posted yet. Daily Nebraska published a bunch of letters from Penn State Alums about Nebraska and it's fans. Great great stuff....well done Nebraska. http://www.dailynebraskan.com/opinion/letters-from-penn-state-1.2670179?pagereq=1#.TsFyr_T7g04
  8. I don't think it's regressed, I just think it's hit or miss....sort of like our defense. Bottom line, we played a big game, against a really good D line...we rushed for 180, and won the football game. It's hard to complain about that too much. The inconsistency however, that needs to be fixed.
  9. No idea where he's at, but the line is playing better than we expected (still not great), so can't complain too much. Of course, we could bring up this topic about tons of players that don't see the field and relate it to personnel issues, etc. Bottom line is, fire Bo.....right????
  10. I think coach Brown is great for our team. From all accounts, players have never complained about his religious beliefs. He's respectful of others beliefs as he states his. On a side note, I think it's crazy how so many schools and such are trying to ban coach Brown from coming into their schools and motivating kids to make the right choices in life. However, they applaud and have tears in their eyes when he leads a prayer in the middle of the field during one of the toughest times in sports. Amazing out it's not a big deal what his religious beliefs are in the midst of tragedy....but when speaking to kids at a school it's a HUGE deal. He's a stand up guy, no matter what his religious beliefs are. As a man, he's a leader, motivator, and teacher of being a good person in your life. If we had a million kids grow up to be like him, the world would be a better place........but we can't see past religion. Sad.
  11. I agree here. If we can get up early, I think they'll come undone.
  12. You cannot be serious. JoePa knew there was "fondling or something of sexual nature" with a child, and you're quibbling about the word "rape?" Rape was your word. You said gun-----------------------rape, get some perspective. I don't think any of us are that far off. We're just pointing at different people. JoePa didn't witness it. He reported fondling or something of sexual nature. It's the GA now WR coach I have a huge problem with. He witnessed a friggin felony and didn't report it to the damn police. Who cares if he reported it to JoePa and the University. In my book he became an accomplice once he didn't report what he saw to the police. I just think the wrong coach is being thrown under the bus. This is all, and I'm done with this topic. Look, the GA did NOT do his part either to contact police. When JoePa found out, he didn't do his part. When the higher ups found out, they did not do their part. They ALL F'd up BIG time, and innocent children got screwed up for life. JoePa is the biggest name at Penn State, he continued to see this man and allow him in their facilities. He turned a blind eye to it, just like many others. The fact here is that JoePa is a legend there with a golden boy image, that's why he is getting such a bad rap. He has been in control of that football program for a long time, he's the face of it. He knew of something terrible under his watch and let it continue. Sure, he's not the only one at fault, but that's the deal when you have his job. Take the good with good and bad with bad.
  13. JoePa admitted to it to a grand jury. He said today he wished he would have done more. Want to read the disgusting attorney general report that also states it....click here. I've read it, and I just reread it. JoePa reported to Tim Curley that a GA witnessed Sandusky fondling or doing something of a sexual nature to a young boy. It says absolutely nothing about any specifics or knowing anything about rape. Holy crap...you're actually acting like "fondling or doing something of a sexual nature to a young boy" is no big deal. Ridiculous does not even begin to explain this argument.

  15. I really, really wish he wouldn't coach. I think this is an instance where legality does not live up to moral responsibility. Knowing about something to this degree and not acting to stop it is a disgrace to all people out there that call themselves Men. If you have to rely on a "policy" to figure out if you are doing the right or wrong thing in this type of situation, you're doing a disgrace the human kind. That being said, I think that JoePa is handling this completely wrong by trying to focus on a football game. I think the University is handling it wrong by standing behind the people that allowed this all to happen. I believe if JoePa had any real moral convictions, he would not coach any longer. It almost seems like by coaching they are gripping to the law to protect them instead of the moral and ethical code we have to each other as humans, and more importantly to innocent children who are so vulnerable. He may be trying to coach this game to have one more home game for his legacy, but his legacy is no longer defined by a football field. It's defined by his selfishness of choosing his football legacy over that of abused children for the likes of at least 9 years.
  16. I believe he was saying the minute the video was available for him to see it, he watched it. He didn't wait for a film study. Players have an online database to watch film whenever they want, they don't have to go to a film room all of the time.
  17. You state the obvious. It's year 4 and I guess Bo's still learning how to be a HC and how to manage and prepare a team in all 3 phases. Based on what most here think, he should get about 22 more years to do that as long as we average about 3-4 losses a year. The question is WHY? Unfortunately the real answers make all the KA drinkers here very uncomfortable but to me it's simple: 1) Bo's simply not good at teaching the little things and holding guys accountable. Remember how Tyler Moore was yanked for 1 false start never to be heard from again but Marcel Jones can continue to make the same false start penalties game after game after game and still not get benched? Just one of the symptoms of bigger problems with his style of HC'ing. 2) Recruiting & Player development: The main area where Bo's failed esp. on defense. We just don't have talent on defense and the borderline guys that we have are simply not developing! Period. And now we're scrambling and going after 4 & 5* guys. Lets see how many we actually sign and what the plan B guys turn out to be. Other than guys like Hagg/Amukamara Bo's not developed anyone worth a damn. Case in point: Tackling. The most basic aspect of football. Look how horrendous this team is at that. That indicates a lack of development and ultimately a lack of confidence with the players. Bo's too in love with his schemes..... and it bailed him out in 2009 with Suh but we all saw the warts last year with the inability to stop the run. Guess what - it's now all come to fruition. If you can't stop the DAMN run, all bets are off - no scheme will work! How Bo doesn't get that after all these years indicates a basic flaw in his personality..... Cool. Character assassination through baseless facts. ^^This guy here, should be our next football coach as its obvious he knows how to make football teams win national titles. Haha...preach it. I have an opinion...and can and will state it. Just as you do...but I don't see you bringing any input, just the attempted character assassination of other board members. Fail. My question to you guys, why bother posting anything at all on this thread if YOU have no input to give other than to attack those that do? And I was referring to what he was posting about AH. I did, however, bring my opinion to the post if you read up a bit.
  18. I don't think we need to make any statement....that being said, "bulletin board material" is so overrated. How did that, "wind stopped Dennard Robinson" bulletin board material work out.
  19. I'm not ready to throw Paterno under the bus on this. I don't know the guy, but I have a hard time thinking he's the type of person who could know about something as sick as what Sandusky did, not go public with it, and actually be able to live with himself. I'd like to think very, very few people are that type of person. He testified to a grand jury that he did know about it and reported it to his higher ups. If you have the stomach....here is the Attorney General's report.... LINK
  20. Agreed here. There is so much more in this world than our defensive line, Taylor's throwing motion, and Bo. Fun to talk about, but not our world.
  21. Blast. Here I was hoping our silly argument would continue. :-) Understood. And I don't disagree with you. Now, back to wondering how the hay Bo is going to stop D. Robinson in two weeks. I try not to think about it, it scares me.
  22. Where exactly did I say T-Mart, as you say "sucks"? Further, I said that T-Mart played well. And yes, the team still lost. In a team sport, the only stat that matters is wins and losses. Anything else is called "fantasy football." Mr. Suh had one of the most dominating defensive performances of all time against Texas a couple years ago. Go ask him about it and I bet you he will say "Who cares, we lost." Individual stats can reflect who likely will win or lose a game, but beyond that, they are only information and history. The game is about "winning" (I hope C. Sheen doesn't have that copyrighted). Look, Opponents will continue to happily bet on T-Mart beating them through the air. I hope he proves them wrong, but that doesn't change the fact that opponents will take that bet. I get your point...in the grand scheme of things and to players, winning is all that matters . But as a fan it sure is nice to see specific players make improvements and play better, even in the midst of a loss. That's my point.
