  1. I'd like to thnk your right. But guys coming off injuries are a crap shoot after they return. Matt Herian is one I can think of off hand that never got going again. Didn't Dillard just have an ankle sprain last year? Herian had a devestating leg fracture, so that is not a very good comparison. Injury is not what is holding Dillard back, its lack of speed.
  2. Crap, I just noticed that his dad is a former KU player too. His dad and his High School coach both are former Jayhawks. I subbed at his school last friday, if I sub again there, I will hunt him down in the hallway, and tell him he should be N.
  3. Yep, he is too damn slow. Bo wants speed, speed and more speed.
  4. It looks to me like Sherman will be another NFL bust , like Callahan, at the college level. But time will tell, so we will see. There was no reason on earth for them to have had as bad of a season as they had last year.
  5. Trucker, I'm not one to say a whole lot on here as you can see based on my ammount of posts since I've been a member, but do you ever say anything POSITIVE? Seriously most if not all of the threads I've read in which you have posted, I read negative comments from you. Good god, have a positive out look for once. You are right, I'm sure... Bo is probably lieing to the fan base to cover up a torn ACL. I don't think all of Truckers posts are negative, but I have to agree with you about this one. That is a complete joke, to think that Bo would lie about an injury to a player who should still be in high school during spring ball. That makes no sense at all.
  6. Okay, he is now bigger than Lawrence Phillips was. This guy is the master at understanding angles, and making people miss, now you can add running people over to his list of skills.
  7. They train for speed in the SEC. I read an article on Florida's training methods, and its crazy how much speed work they do. They also have a ton of high tech equipment they use, that is used by world class sprinters.
  8. Not necessarily, they could have made an example out of him to some degree. Hopefully he will keep his nose clean now and there won't be any other problems. He will have to on diversion. It is a year program that will require him to do community service, and attend substance abuse classes. If he gets in any trouble while on diversion, all the original charges will be reinstated. Yes, I speak from experince about this program. of course my charges were much more serious
  9. This should be funny...but it isn't. Probably pretty close to reality for him and the way he, and Dad, think. I really don't want this kid at NU at all. There are just way to many red flags here. Decommitment, daddy involvement, smashing windows in cars( what is he in middle school), 9 touchdowns- 13 interceptions.
  10. Some one needs to tell this kid to eat. 6-5 178 = twig
  11. If you mean it isn't that much different as in we play mulitple backs then sure. However that being said none of the backs here now would have even sniffed the field in 1995 season. Jay Simms was 5th string that year. I bet he'd be starting on the 2009 team. Man, you guys are not giving Helu much love. We saw Simms carry the ball a couple of times, so we really don't have any idea how good he was. Remeber, those guys were also running behind the " Pipeline", which was the best O-Line in Husker history.
  12. I beleive you missed my point. It was Daugherty who was responsible for making Carolina a football school You have you're Daugherty's mixed up. You meant Mike Daugherty, who was a former player, and he coached at UNC before Roy Williams . Brad Daugherty was a dominate center at UNC under Dean Smith, and never coached at UNC.
  13. Okay, that was funny a hell. Made my eyes water, I laughed so hard. Can we give out Husker Bucks for posts like these? I guess you are easily amused.
  14. Why couldn't we get him We had him, but some admissions rule was broken. I'm not sure what all happened by I think Doc f'ed up somewhere, somehow. He was registered for classes, then went to Juco, and the classes he signed up for at NU were not dropped. It was either addmissions screw up, or it was his, for not making sure they were droped. If I were Doc, I would have made sure everything was in order when he went to juco. This guy was the difference maker that we had to have. He would have been a starter for us for sure.
  15. I'm not against this kid comming here, but did anyone else notice how his dad used " we " statements? " We want a team", " we want the competition to be open", " we don't mind rebuilding", ect....Daddy, I have news for you, you are not playing.
  16. The only thing is, Colt McCoy did not play as a true freshman.
  17. Plus, he was already here for Junior Day and was impressed, so just wait until he gets a load of the spring game.
  18. Ok, I'll bite. I don't necessarily consider myself old or young, I am 29. However, those that look back in awe of the glory years only like to thing that the Huskers built up the empire with a roster that consisted solely of walk-on beefeaters from Smalltown, Nebraska. Osborne had some of the best recruiting classes in the country. Between 93 and 98, I think all classes were rated no lower than 12th. The 1985 class with Steve Taylor and Sandman was a consensus #1 class. What about the class with Turner Gill? It's this head in the clouds infatuation with the 80s and 90s that is annoying. That is no where near USC's top 3 classes every year under Carroll! Those classes were also not consensus, meaning agreed upon by more than one recruiting guru. Gill played on NU teams that passed more than the 90s teams and USC has 3-5 deep top 5 ranked HS QBs. For NU to get Frazier was a steal, since they didn't have the market cornered on option QBs like SC has on pro-style QBs. Sanchez, #1, Corp #4, Mustain, #1, Barkley #1... Where were the two backups to #15 ranked in the recruiting rankings? Perhaps, but you are missing the big point here.... USC sucks and I hate them...have always hated them...and will always hate them. So no matter what USC does or how their recruiting classes rank, blah blah blah...the bottom line is they suck. Carry on.... If you hate them so much, why do you have them in your sig?.. Look again, those are Iowa State players.
  19. Well at least we fought hard until the end. I'm proud of how hard our guys played this year, I just hope that we neevr see an offense this bad under Doc again. Does anyone know anything about recruit Uble, from down here in KC? His stats never look that impressive when I look in the paper. I usually see about 15 points from the guy, but he is a big body, and we need as many as we can get. I'm just looking ahead to next year.
  20. Woodshed is an option too. I would love to take rkhufu7 to the woodshed. PM he and I the password, so we can get in there. Of course, he is the one who called me an idiot.
  21. WORD! My sentiments exactly! Macovicka's were walkon's from 8 man football and I think Schlessinger was also. Why do we have to WASTE ships recruiting FBs when we will be in a 3 wide spread much of the time? I think Frazier was more of a LEADER, than a difference maker like Crouch, whom I think wasn't a great LEADER, but a superior athlete. Frost was a PERFECT NU QB, that just needed time in the system. Crouch had more speed, but Frost and Frazier were more powerful, and Crouch did not benefit from a GREAT I-back like Frost and Frazier. McBride attacks UT in Austin in 99 and that is a MNC and Solich is still at NU! note that NU also emphacised squats and power cleans more than BP. BP is the big emphasis for passing teams. I do think they did 3 rep maxes? The SYSTEM spoke, it seems like Florida is the NEW Big Red with a great defense and option attack from the gun and a strong inside games using zone, trap and counter blocking schemes. I think that NU could run an offense with a power I and a spread combo, like UT 2005. The spread has increased the VALUE of dual threat QBs and opened up the passing game, while still giving defenses the same headaches the option has always caused. Dude, are you schizophrenic? Because that post was all over the place. Cliff notes to break it down: Walk ons at FB best QB in the 90's Mcbride attacking UT in 99 and Solich stays NU weight training back in the day Florida is the new Big Red NU could run a power I and a spread combo You're posts give me a headache
  22. This is the first poll that is really interesting. Usually it is one guy running away with the votes. edit: The safety poll is a good one too.
  23. Like I said in the other thread, the class that started it all in the 90's was ranked in the 20's, but Osborne had some very highly ranked classes. The 1995 and 1996 classes were ranked as high as #2 and #3 in the country. We recruited alot more than just system players, we went after the best talent in the country. The same players all the other big boys at the time went after. You really need to do some research on Husker recruiting. You don't think Tommie Frasier was recruited by the big boys? .... It's Tommie Frazier...not Frasier. And Tommie was recruited by Florida State, Miami and other schools...as a DB. Damn, I can't even spell my favorite Huskers name correctly. His top 3 were Nebraska, Notre Dame and Clemson, and I still remember it was big news when he commited to NU. I wish I would have saved the Journal Star article on it.
