  1. Some reason? I think everyone would agree that those commercials are awesome!
  2. You can shut up, it doesn't make sense to pull out a guy who's in the flow when you're dominating and you have the ball so close to your own goal line. Plans can, and should be, adjusted. So what happens on the next play Taylor blows out his knee and is done for the season. Stupid mistake to play your backup for a series every game? Ask Texas about not playing their backup last year. Ok, so your argument is we need to get our backup some playing time. Why don't we do that when a mistake(fumble) couldn't cost us the game. It's a good idea to get backups playing time. But regardless, let's hope the huskers just keep things rolling...
  3. Yeah, I agree. I think you guys need to lay off buff. Have some respect for the man, despite how terrible CU is, he still supports them.
  4. Um, Playoff? and we obviously arn't Co-Champs...we have the same conference record and Mizzou beat us...hence, they get the trophy, or plaque...or w/e it is. And the south is just a mess....but that happens when you have situations like this....
  5. not to mention that although we're 8-4 (5-3 conf), we easily could have been 10-2 (6-2 conf)... I'm content with where the huskers sit, and I have a feeling that we're only going to move up. Good first regular season, BO...now go out and win you're second bowl game to end the season 9-4...obviously better than last year. And Bo is the real deal. Callahan would have made no adjustments at half-time, and we would be sitting at another 5-7 season...or worse.
  6. Henry would of nailed it... Too bad we lost to Texas Tech and while we're at it VA Tech... Too games that we very easily could have won giving huskers the possibility of going 10-2 regular season... regardless, what a turnaround. GO BO
  7. Me and my buddy were watching tv the other day and the trailer for that movie came on. Barely glancing at it(it was a commercial), I was talking about how the movie looked pretty good. All of a sudden, they show a stadium that I recognized right away. "Did you see that" I said, and he was like no, what? Next frame they show a cornhead and red and white paint. I was pretty shocked to see husker football in a hollywood movie.
  8. I view Griffin as a better QB than he gets credit for. His stats don't look impressive, but I don't blame that on him as much as the lack of receivers for Baylor. I remember at least 2 (probably more) dropped passes that would have been devastating to the huskers(one long one that if caught, would have easily been 6, and I also recall a few short ones that would have been for a nice quick pick-up)... That being said, we didn't win the game only because Griffin was injured...The adjustments made after half were great for stopping Griffin. One of the many aspects I like about Bo is unlike Callahan, his adjustments work! Also I love the enthusiasm he had. It may be biased, but honestly, it seemed like we were always getting called for penalties that both teams were doing(late hits out of bounds...etc) Anyway, on topic: I would love to see an 8-4 record into the bowl games, but I think it seems more probable that we'll finish 7-5...which is IMPROVEMENT...
  9. Honestly, this season is going to look very similar to the last four. The reason is unknown, but popular belief(and what I strongly believe) is the fact that these are not Pelini's players. I believe that Pelini is capable of leading this team to better seasons, but the best coach on this earth couldn't fix the debacle that Callahan caused this team. It will be years before we see a top 25 team, even longer til we see a top 10 team, and again longer til championship team, but give it time and it will come true, this I believe.
  10. Even if T.O was head coach this year, we would still see the same results as what we're going to see with Bo. I'm not too concerned about how we do this season. If in four years, we're still seeing no improvement, then yes, its time to look for yet another headcoach...but as of now, we're fine. NU isn't going to become a top 10 team over 1 summer.
  11. Money? There is definitely someway to implement sponsorship into a playoff system. However, if you think about it...conference games could be considered the first round of the "college playoffs"..but not every team contending has to play one..which is complete bullsh#t. Who's to say that Hawaii(13-0) isn't good enough to compete for the national championship? O that's right...some bullsh#t thing called strength of schedule. Right.
  12. "Thank you Steve Pederson for firing Solich and hiring Callahan"--Front "Thanks to you, T.O and BO are Back!"--Back probably could use better rewording, but you get the point.
  13. the thing about him "blowing up" is it is for the right reasons. His players knew that their head coach was backing their performance. These players are in for a real treat! Playing under Bo will be one of the best experiences of their lives. I can't wait til Spring, and then into next fall!
  14. We used to have a black lab named Rambo...and then we later got another black lab named Bo. I like the name for a dog. Another good choice would have been Ruud.
  15. tool is another word for complete idiot or lacking all of common sense. If you ever have problems with modern-day slang, don't be afraid to goto urban dictionary and search the word of question. Urban dictionary is an online slang dictionary. All the entry's are made by normal people, and so all definitions may not be credible, but in most cases are pretty accurate.
  16. Anyone know where the press conference can be watched online?
  17. I like the cyclone's fan who thinks that "they loosen the lid, which is why we could open it"...but that's a diff subject. I agree with the topic starter...Cally must go. His points stack on top of the 500 other statistics that represent how bad of coach Cally is.
  18. "Uh, coach...not to dis your profession, but I'm gonna call the plays because I play the game therefor I can call the plays..." If someone went up to their coach and said "Hey, I'm gonna call the plays from here on out.", they player would be benched, and most likely laughed at by the whole team.
  19. obviously just a mistake as it's been corrected
  20. Whichever team bounces back first is not the biggest loser...If both teams fail to ever bounce back...then i'll cry, but besides that, we'll all be losers...and have to get accustomed to it.
  21. The players for the most part played a very good game. Our defence seemed to break down towards the 4th quarter, which was probably caused by all the blitzing we did...tends to tire a team out. However, I believe our problem was our offense in the second half. We scored on our first drive, giving NU a lot of momentum...yet were unable to move the chains after that... You can't get up by two touchdowns and then play "Not to lose"...and by that I mean hoping that the defense can hold off Texas for the rest of the game...Had we put up some more points after that first drive, we could of easily pulled off the upset. Instead, we had some devastating miscues, and ended up putting no more points on the board the rest of the third. We continued to not put points on the board in the fourth, when texas scores 3 touchdowns...if we would of continued to put points on the board(even fieldgoals) instead of giving the ball right back to texas...the game would of been over. Finishing the game is an important part of football...not finishing leads to going from up by two td's...to down by two td's.. Either way, the game looked like an improvement...but it's possible texas just overlooked us. Either way, I think the Jayhawks will be ready...
  22. Even if the players are horrible, it still comes back on the coaches for: 1. Not being able to make adjustments. 2. Not being able to recruit(5 star recruiting class my ass) 3. Not being able to motivate... and many more.
  23. Let's see...Memorial stadium becomes the third biggest town in Nebraska every saturday. Getting from Omaha to Lincoln every saturday is nothing but a HUGE traffic jam. Football, College or highschool, brings town's together and is watch by the majority of the state. Tom Osborne is a name that everyone knows, (even haters like you), and iso ne of the most respected persons in this state. If you walked up to Tom Osborne and said what you just said to him, he should slap you, but wouldn't due to the fact that he's such a respectable person. In fact, he would prolly coaches around the state would argue that life's greatest lesson's can be learned through football. Face it, Nebraska is about football. Btw, we don't decide what is on the news, the manager's of the station decide what they show. You know why they showed Osborne's press conference during today's 5:00 news? Because that is what the local's wanted to watch. I myself don't "watch" the news. I hear about the news, but don't take time out of my day to sit down and watch the news. I heard that a Tom Osborne was going to be speaking today at 5 on KETV, so I took time out of my day to hear this great man speak. Your arguments are that these kids arn't professional athletes? No, these kids are College students trying to start their careers, and because they are so talented, they are able to get their education paid for, something 10x more important then a bunch of rich ass pro athletes getting paid millions to play the game. Soldier's are dieing, and other bad stuff is going on in the world. No one is saying "Big deal"...we all just don't want to hear about world issues all the time and would rather hear about what's going on on a local level. A man lost his job,(and also making a couple million by getting fired), is not something to cheer about...your right. But he wasn't doing his job, and deserved to be fired. Also, he turned an amazing program into a joke, which is something many of us can't handle. Knowing that he can no longer ruin our program(if he already didn't total it), is something to be excited about. Knowing that the husker football legend is back, and he's going to do his best to fix our situation is something to be excited about. I don't know what else to say to you, but I have given you plenty of reason's why. (btw, I like the way that most of your argument was based on the fact that the 5:00 news was "wasted" on husker football, but don't take into fact that their are probably about 5 channel's out of 70 on basic cable that revolve all around sports completely(ESPN, Fox sports...ect.)...Also, if you want to read about how much the world sucks, get on google and look it up)
  24. I almost guarantee nothing big will happen again until the end of the season. Callahan won't be fired...Callahan won't fire Cozgrove...
