  1. Hi everyone! The Husker Football Fan Podcast is easing into our fall schedule with weekly episodes now through the end of the regular season. Today's episode is a 20-minute fall practice update; next week we're going to preview the entire season, and the following week we'll focus on Fresno State. This is a labor of love for us...if you listen, please post here and share your feedback. Thanks! 2. This is the first year in a while that I can't go...I don't even care about the autographs, I just like walking around on the field and taking everything in. It's especially fun to get some up close photos of the alternate uniforms. I wonder if they'll announce anything between now and next week.
  3. The Husker Football Fan Podcast just published our next "big game preview" for 2016, featuring Richard Branch of the Buckaround podcast. We also included some words about Sam Foltz and Mike Sadler, as we didn't feel it was appropriate to continue with our current format without pausing to express our condolences. This is a longer episode for us, but in my opinion it's full of great content. Enjoy! 4. This is awesome, I hope our favorite head buttin' mother father gets plenty of playing time
  5. We did it, guys! Oh wait...I just beg and buy tickets from friends. I'm probably part of the problem.
  6. The Husker Football Fan Podcast just published our next "big game preview" for 2016! This week, we talked Iowa football with Corey Lathrop, a producer at 1620 The Zone and cohost of the Two-Star Hawkeye podcast. We discussed the developing rivalry between Nebraska and Iowa, and for kicks, we debated the merits of Tommy Armstrong vs Taylor Martinez. 7. The Husker Football Fan Podcast published our second "big game preview" for the 2016 season this morning! For this episode we were joined by Kyle Jones of elevenwarriors.com, a leading independent source of news for the Ohio State Buckeyes. We discussed the state of Ohio State's program going into the season, talked about some coaching connections (#HireTimBeck), and asked what Ohio State fans think of Nebraska. 9. After taking a month off, the Husker Football Fan Podcast is back for our second season! Episode 1 is a preview of the Oregon game with Kirk Carpenter, a lifelong Oregon fan from the west coast. We discuss the matchup, talk about the Ducks’ recent coaching changes, and look at their fall schedule: Direct link to listen: http://traffic.libsyn.com/huskerpod/S02E01_-_Oregon_Preview.mp3 Podcast episode page: http://huskerpod.libsyn.com/s02e01-oregon-preview You can also subscribe on iTunes. We have a number of interviews lined up, so we're going to continue with a weekly format for the month of July. Next week we'll be publishing an interview with Kyle Jones of Eleven Warriors (Ohio State's Huskermax equivalent), and after that will be Zach Pereles of Inside NU (SBNation's Northwestern beat). And as if that wasn't enough, we also just published a midsummer update discussing the Friday Night Lights camps and the state of the sellout streak. 11. Y'all been talking about this post-concussion interview, but no one shared the link. Here it is, if anyone's curious like I was: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/highschool/football/os-hs-apopka-qb-zack-darlington-speaks-20130828-story.html
  12. I went to high school with Erin - she's a genuinely good person. I'm glad the Husker community is rallying around her..if you haven't yet sent a tweet of encouragement / concern, please do.
  13. As of late, McKewon can be Beardy McHomeless (I say that with love, he's one of my favorite writers)
  14. The Husker Football Fancast published Part 2 of our season recap this week! We'd love it if you checked 'em out: Part 1: http://huskerfancast.libsyn.com/s01e17-2015-season-recap-part-1 In Part 1, we take a broad look at 2015, including the highs and lows. 15. You guys are being too reasonable. I'm posting with my heart, not my head. Ha!
  16. Beautiful. Can't wait to have a healthy Pierson-El in the mix next fall. Hopefully we get to see him at the spring game!
  17. Sad to see him go! Would have like to see more opportunities for him last season, too. I remember him making a contribution early on, but I didn't hear or see much about him into November...
  18. Annnnnnd I will continue to buy my tickets a la carte from friends trying to unload them the week of the game
  19. No lie, during half time of this game I was complaining about how crappy this bowl season has been. Glad I stuck around to watch the rest of it!
  20. No change at all for me. I'm just glad we got the extra practices and the team has more playing experience for next year.
  21. Our recap of the Foster Farms Bowl is now up! Check it out here: http://huskerfancast.libsyn.com/s01e16-chicken-bowl-champs You can also listen / subscribe on iTunes...just click the banner link in my signature. If you've listened to any of our episodes this fall / winter, thanks so much for checking us out! We're going to record one more episode to wrap-up the season, and then we'll go into hiding until the Spring Game. And as always, feedback / criticism / encouragement is always welcome
  22. Hey everyone! Thought you might appreciate some additional podcasting goodness in case you're traveling for the holiday or going to the game. In this week's episode we brought in a meteorologist to talk about the weather on Friday (HINT: you'll probably want to bundle up), and we had a lot of fun going over some 2015 season trivia. http://huskerfancast.libsyn.com/s01e13-spoiler-alert I try not to post about the podcast too often, but I really feel like some of you will appreciate this episode. I'm particularly proud of the trivia segment - you might learn a few things that will make you sound smart while talking football with friends and relatives on turkey day. Let me know what you think! PS - We're also on iTunes if that's what you prefer.
