  1. The times of the home games haven't even been announced. And unless NU really starts strong, it's unlikely that they will be on national TV at all. The top teams are the ones that get the TV exposure. I would disagree with that. We played against Nevada last year and that was on TV. And most rival games will be on TV regardless if they are ranked or not. I thought that Nebraska had a deal with FSN or something like that or am I wrong???
  2. Got me $1.50 out of the returnables too! Thanks for the meal money! and Huck the Fuskers is the name of a...uh...a popular band that plays in the bars around here! Yeah...that's it! A guy named Huck is the lead singer...named after the Mark Twain character...and the backing band is called the Fuskers. Kind of like Tom Petty and the Hearbreakers. Has nothing to do with Nebraska whatsoever.... Ya my first time at a football game in Ames was the 2004 game and you guys beat us. A lot of Cyclone fans were telling the Husker fans that we'd come back and beat them but never did. I wasn't really mad that we lost cause it was a good game and it was Callahan coaching I think that same year you guys had a shirt which read "Our Golden Rule" on the front and on the back it said "To Beat Nebraska". I saw that same shirt in the 06' game in Ames as well and again this year in Lincoln as well as the "Huck the Fuskers" shirts too. Cy your rock and there are always a few bad apples.......Nebraska has a few bad apples as well. We still love ya.
  3. Not only do Colorado fans hate us but I've seen a lot of Huck the Fuskers shirts and signs down in Ames, IA.....Not trying to pick on Cy's team. One dude had his back window of his truck painting "Huck the Fuskers" writing on it, so after we got done tailgating and picking up our trash, I decided to throw all of our garbage bags in the back of their truck box..... So just a reminder that not just Colorado fans have shirts like these but some other Big 12 schools. Even my cousin down at K-State tells me that saying all the time "Huck the Fuskers" and "Stupid Cornchuckers"
  4. Mike Ekeler interview After watching this clip, I got so pumped up that I wanted to go out to Scheels and buy a helmet and pads and tackle people walking by my house. I like how these players are already getting that "friendly relationship" with these coaches and watching the clip one lineback messed up his drill and was talking to the coach so he could get it right the next time. Something that I really liked what Ekeler said during that interview is "We're going to play with our hair on fire and we're not just going to do that on Saturday, but, we're going to play hard on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday." Sounds like Ekeler coaches like he's been drinking Red Bull all day!!!
  5. ROCK ONNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is actually smart IMO. I just ordered one more Kansas vs Nebraska baseball ticket for the 18th and one more for the Spring Game for my buddy. I can't wait!!!!!!!!
  6. Brought a new form of vocabulary to Lincoln
  7. I believe that was 2004 . . . in Lincoln . . . when Joe Dailey ran out of bounds on fourth down on our last possession. Ya he didn't even try to juke anybody he just simply ran out of bounds.......thanks Joe Dailey
  8. I will admit when Callahan was hired I was pissed that Bo didn't get it after his impressive win over Michigan State. But then I was like maybe Callahan might be a good choice. I didn't really know what to think like many other Husker fans. First Season: When we lost to Southern Miss in Lincoln oh boy did I blow a gasket. What really mad me made during that game is that toward the end of the game we were driving to get a TD to win the game. There was only a few seconds on the clock and Joe Dailey was running the ball and he ran out of bounds and the game was over. He didn't even try to do juke moves or try to stutter step anybody, but simply ran out of bounds and we lost. And the other reason that we went 5-6 to make it the first time we didn't go to a bowl game in what 36 seasons and among other records that were smashed that year because of Callahan. The only one that wasn't ruined was the consecutive sellouts. Second Season: There were a couple games that we should've won but I thought that Callahans system was working after we beat Colorado in Boulder and then the Michigan game at the Alamo Bowl. I serious think that Callahan was getting his crap together and rebuilding this program back to a National Championship program. Third Season: I was pretty excited to see that fake punt on USC but that wasn't enough to beat USC. There were several games where we should've won but didn't like the Texas and Oklahoma St game. Texas game we would've had in our hands if Callahan would've kept on running the ball instead of passing the ball to run down the clock to eliminate that dropped pass by Nunn at the end of the game. After we lost to Auburn in the bowl game I pretty much gave up on Callahan. Numerous times he made bad play calling for example the fake punt, throwing the ball whenever it was 3-1 or 3-2, among some others. I was at the Big 12 Championship game and it was cold...very cold. I remember going to the bathroom to warm up and hearing on the PA system that Oklahoma was on there own 1yd line and driving it 99yds for a TD.....wow that's pretty sad (mind you that whole drive I was in the Bathroom). Fourth Season: The opening game when we blow Nevada out of the water and people were talking about how this was the one of the greatest Offensive Line that we've had......come on we played against NEVADA!!!! And then if that wasn't impressive enough PUDD decides to give Callahan a 5 year extension to his contract because we blew out Nevada wow. And then after that our whole season was down the drain. I knew after the Wake game that things wouldn't be the same. Hell after the Ball St game I told my buddies that we would just beat Iowa State and that was it for us.
  9. I WAS BORN AND RAISED AS A HUSKER FAN. My dad has had season tickets since 92' I believe but I would have to ask him on that one. I just got one thing to say to CelticRover20 Your Wife is smart and she is a keeper
  10. I think that alot of Husker fans would agree with me that Brandon Ore isn't so different from Marlon Lucky. Here is my Reasoning: Brandon Ore Rushing Att Gain Loss Net TD 267 1056 64 992 9 Receiving NO. Yards Avg. TD 20 149 7.4 1 Marlon Lucky Rushing Att Gain Loss Net TD 206 1057 38 1019 9 Receiving NO. Yards Avg. TD 75 705 9.4 3 Nothing against Marlon but by those Numbers they are about the same in Rushing but Marlon carried the ball less and gained more yards than Brandon. Marlon was pretty much our go to guy when it came passing it to our running backs and he had better numbers than Brandon but Brandon wasn't much of a receiver cause they had three other studs as receivers where they didn't really have to focus on throwing Ore the ball. There are some Husker fans that think that Marlon wasn't all that great last year and now with me providing the comparison with the two......what's that got to say about Brandon? IMO I think that if Marlon got injuried and was out for the rest of the season I think that we had really good back ups to replace Marlon where I also believe that VT will have that same thing. Their second string running back Tyrod Taylor only carried the ball 102 times for 576 yards and lets say that he carried the ball 204, he probably could've had 1152 yards. So this might not be a big loss for VT. I hope that I'm wrong come 9/27/08
  11. Sorry guys i forgot to add the sarcasm icon to my last post i didn't think that people would've taken that comment so serious.....here i'll do it here I don't think losing that guy will have any affect on the game.....but who knows i guess that we'll find out on that day.
  12. You should post pictures of you car and the license plate on here after you get it all done. I wanted a Charger but i've read that their transmissions are terrible and their not real good on fuel efficient so that's why i'll probably be getting a V6 Camry. I hope that your Husker Charger doesn't have any problems.
  13. SKERZ CU WHO CALAHAN (just kidding and i know that i mess spelt Callahan cause you can only have 7 letters on a plate)
  14. Who cares this isn't even a Nebraska Player.......Nor is it Husker Related besides VT playing us in Lincoln this year.
  15. You know I was reading the thread "Busted at the seams" and JHawk decided to post his opinion which for me will make this offseason even longer and more painful. This is what JHawk had to say: Luckily, I have schoolwork to keep me busy, and over the summer NCAA 09 will come out. We have made it past the cold offseason, just about 5 more months. Can't wait to see what Pelini will do and if Mangino can give another miracle season like he did last year. The key phrase in that sentence is the bold one. I'm a big fan of NCAA College Football instead of Madden (I was more of a ESPN football gamer fan) and I always look forward to it being released over the summer....well guess again. I will be to afraid of playing that because they are going to put our 07' Defense in that game and it'll be hard to beat teams with that defense unless you decide to customize your team yourself.....hell it'll be hard to beat Duke in that game. So for those of you who enjoy playing NCAA College Football you better enjoy the spring game here in a month cause after that it'll be a LONG off-season......Damn you COZ!!!!
  16. Is Basketball even a sport???? I'd go with Football any days cause that's a real sport!
  17. Congrats to Trev Alberts, Grant Wistrom, and Will Shields and I hope that All three make the Hall of Fame this year, if not they'll make it sooner or later. I can't wait to tell my dad cause Trev Alberts was his favorite husker player back when he played Linebacker and the Butkus Award winner in 93'. I'm going to watch this on ESPN come May 1st. Once again Congrats and Good Luck. GO BIG RED College Football Hall of Fame
  18. Cy just REMEMBER that whenever you go to spot your first down marker that i'll be in the crowd watching and when the moment is right i'll yell out "Hey Cy! Good job on marking that spot.......YA JACKA**", like that guy did off of Happy Gilmore. Well again I'll probably be at this game for the third straight time in Ames for a Good Ol' Nebraska beat down.
  19. Well I heard that they weren't even drinking beer.........they were drinking that Bo Pelini Kool-Aid that's been going around husker nation for the past 4 months!
  20. Ya I just googled his name and I can't find anything about him walking on but he will walk on for Running Back I guess. He rushed for over 1500 yds last year for Ponca to lead them to districts. Justin Blatchford
  21. My buddy from work who lives out in Newcastle, NE texted me today to tell me that his cousin Justin Blatchford from Ponca, NE is going to walk on for Nebraska. Ponca is only like 25 mins west of South Sioux City and I haven't really heard much about this guy nor did I read anything in the Sioux City Journal. But I believe in my buddy cause he wouldn't make this crap up. Has anybody heard anything about this guy and whether he's a good player?
  22. I ordered 8 Tickets like two weeks ago and my cousin ordered like 5 i believe.
  23. This world is going straight to H&LL. Everytime that i turn on the TV there's always a story about some guy killing this guy or like today on The Today Show they were showing this mom giving her daughter a bath in at Car Wash using the pressure washer . People with money or talent think that they are better than everybody else and think that they should be treated like kings.
  24. Hopefully he's just getting his knee scoped so he'll have a faster recovery. I had both my shoulders scoped and I was back in full health in 6 weeks and full contact in about 2-3 months after the operation when doing therapy. I wish him luck on his knee
