  1. I agree with you. I never have liked booing the other team or being disrespectful to players. But, as bad as it got this year, I can understand booing at the pitiful coaching job that was on display. There are plenty of people who are still supporting their Huskers, but are just voicing their opinions about the coaching staff. I love the Huskers good and bad and just can't wait until next year!!!!!!!!
  2. Matt Herian, bit i would agree with Brook, great human being and a hard worker, he would have had success in the NFL.
  3. Cos made it sound like he was going to take some time off. I am sure he could find some sort of job, but I think at his age he may consider retiring, but who knows....
  4. I agree with you also. I personally was contacted by the previous staff about walking on. I decided to go to a division II school instead. I picked a scholarship and a chance to play right away, instead of struggling just to make the team with not many walk on's accepted. If I was just coming out of high school now I would definitely rethink my decision with this new staff, but I think the division II schools in Nebraska benefited. UNO and Chadron State- nationally ranked teams, and Wayne State with their best season in 15 years.
  5. Offense: Marlon Lucky sleeper: Kenny Wilson Defense: Thenarse Sleeper: Barry Turner
  6. awesome idea!!! it would be a great atmosphere for the game!
  7. So many ways to answer this topic and it is hard to narrow it down, but I'll just give one............. Best memory I witnessed the "Miracle in Missouri" in person so that is my best Husker memory Worst Memory Loss to Texas in 1996 Big 12 Championship. I was only 8 and shed many tears following that game.
  8. he played in 2, and won 1, he was good, but not a top 10 player at all.
  9. we would have to do it right. none of this "lets all wear black shirts on gameday." lets do it how other teams do it, place a shirt on EVERY seat in the stadium. i assume thats how tennessee achieves their "checkered out" effect. btw, i LOVED the all white jerseys against colorado. I agree they just need to buy some cheap shirts and hand them out as people come in. It would be great and very intimidating for the other team.
  10. Great idea! I think that was something that really helped us in the 90s. I wish we could also bring back Jack Stark as the team psychologist. He spoke to my small college football team, and I loved his ideas and it seemed to help Osborne's teams to focus. Just need to bring back old traditions like these that have been gone for a few years.
  11. I believe you mean 2003 not 2001. We played Miami in the national championship game after the 2001 season, and 2002 was 7-7. Other than the date I thought HANC did a great job answering the concerns of buzzkill and the others. I agree also. I think this staff should be one of a kind and we should dominate again.

  13. I agree with you. I was born in Memphis, Tn and lived there until I was 13, and I am fortunate for the dryer weather up here. The humidity down south is sometimes unbearable. So it'll be a nice change of pace for them.
  14. Now only if he will stop preaching about GOD everytime he speaks! you are living in the wrong country brotha......he can talk about his beliefs all he wants You guys are hilarious. According to some he has the right to talk about his beliefs but I don't have the right to be annoyed by those beliefs? I would never say he doesn't have the right to talk about his beliefs, but why don't I have the right to talk about my beliefs? I believe religious beliefs are a private matter and you don't go around advertising them at every opportunity. I also believe (based upon the constitution) that you don't use a government job (yes, that's what being a coach at NU is) as a platform for advancing your religious beliefs. Like I said, I am glad he is back, because i think he is a good person and a good coach. I just wish he would stop trying to convert me when I am reading the sports page and just want to learn about the team. I am not looking for an argument and I totally understand where you are coming from. Coach Brown's faith is HUGE part of his life and he is just expressing how he feels. He is not trying to force his beliefs on anyone, but just expressing his beliefs and morals. We shouldn't be fighting about this, but instead be celebrating a great coach coming back to Nebraska.
  15. I agree I think Scott would be a great candidate for coordinating the walk on program.
  16. I actually thought the running backs have played pretty well the past few years , considering how the offensive line played. I agree that the backs have played well. I just feel they could have performed better if it was managed more efficiently. I hope Lucky stays and Randy Jordan or whoever the backs coach gives him a chance to showcase his talent and help the team.
  17. Now only if he will stop preaching about GOD everytime he speaks! Give the man a break, he is passionate about his faith and has every right to be. It is great to have a guy with such a strong faith back on the staff just like coach Osborne did. He is a great person and is just giving credit where credit is due.
  18. No that was the problem with the coaches the year before when Solich went 7-7. Coaches like George Darlington and Milt Tenipor were GREAT coaches but not motivated recruiters at that point in their careers. When Solich brought in these new coaches in '03 the Huskers went 10-3, so I think they will be able to recruit and most importantly motivate and get the best out of their players. your reasoning doesn't make sense, the team that went 10-3 would be Solich's 02 and before staff not the newer guys who you said could recuirt better, those guys would have been on Cally's team, so they were better coaches overall What I was trying to say is that the "old coaches" before '03 were not good recruiters. The '03 staff really didn't have a chance to recruit but proved they were good coaches. They were still Solich's old staff's recruits, but Solcih had to change and adapt to get better players to compete.
  19. I hope the Big 12 can be back on top once again. The SEC is GOOD and there is no denying that. But with the North gaining respectability and power again and the south very tough it should be a fun year for the Big 12.

  21. Can you give a synopsis? It was a short interview that confirmed that he was coming back. He is very excited to be coaching Tight Ends. His goal is to help the tight ends to become good physical blockers, who can also be playmakers and stretch the field. He said he talked to many former players and got their opinions on whether or not he should coach again and the response was unanimously YES. He gave glory to God and sounded like the amazing coach and person he is.
  22. If we are really going to change offensive schemes, I would rather have a coordinator who is well versed in that offense. I think Watson will stay if we are to run the West Coast style offense, someone else will be hired if not. It is my understanding that Watson was calling the plays for the Colorado game. They used the bye week to change the offense to play to Joe Ganz strengths. We ran a lot of zone read, instead of "typical" west coast offense. I think Watson can adapt and put in a good and productive offense, not exactly the west coast.
