  1. I think it is probably the yet-unnamed rb-coach. Out of the current guys I'd guess maybe Ekeler. Seems strange to me they never mention it.
  2. I noticed that hasn't been mentioned on Pelini's coaching list. Has he ever talked about it?
  3. I have a question. Are there no special teams coaches in college football?
  4. Anybody heard who the other two coaches were that T.O. interviewed? We know he talked to Pelini, Gill and Grobe. Who were the other two?
  5. Well, that's what Spring practice is for....may the best man win.
  6. It's cool. Let him coach in the Bowl game. Osborne's got it covered until then.
  7. Some perspective: 1) We need to remember this isn't the NFL. College players don't work 24/7 watching game film and preparing for games. Plus, college defenses are much simpler, you don't get defensive shutouts when good teams play good teams. 2) At the end of the season players get tired, scores go up. 3) LSU has some key injuries on D. 4) Going into the game, LSU's D is ranked #3 in Total Defense...Nebraska, #112. I'm not criticizing the post, I'm just saying let's make sure we remember a few facts.
  8. Caught this online in the St. Petersburg paper: http://www.sptimes.com/2007/11/28/Sports/G..._Fayson_s.shtml Granted it would be a tough sell given our coaching situation, but might be worth Coach Osborne's while to at least give him a phone call.
  9. I've heard he's pretty open to using any offense that best fits the personel on the team, which is a good thing. I hate it when coaches are married to an offensive system and try to force it on the wrong players. Currently running the Triple Option at Navy and it's working well there.
  10. The situation the Missouri Tigers are in now proves once and for all that we need to get rid of the Big 12 Title Game. It was a bad idea to start and it's just gotten worse. The powers that be got all caught up with the excitement of the SEC Title game and thought we should do it too, but it doesn't work. Now, Missouri has to play a game to win the Big 12 which they have in reality done already. Meanwhile, Ohio State, with no Big 10 Title game, sits in waiting in case Missouri loses. Granted, you can say, "well, if they're so good, they should beat Oklahoma," but that's not the point. Some teams play 11 games, some 12, some 13...there's no balance. The Big 12 needs to ditch the title game and do what the Big 10 does. You may not play every team in the conference every year, but you get most of them. You could cut back to 3 preseason games and play a rotating 8 conference teams. And while we're at it, make sure that Nebraska and Oklahoma play each other every year in the last game, just like Ohio State and Michigan. Now that Osborne is the AD, he needs to make this his first priority after hiring a football coach. We need to start a movement to see that this happens.
  11. It would be easy enough for your guys in Lincoln to check out.
  12. Crap! We just got some competition for Bo. http://www.kvue.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/...t.31c2ee76.html
  13. agree, and Arkansas want to can Nutt? now those guys are crazy and forget they are in the "Let's Beat The Hell-otta-Each Other " Conference. SEC is a bitch on wheels! We could never survive in it!
  14. What we just saw was two quality teams giving it everything they've got....unlike what we saw a few hours ago in Colorado.
  15. So, I'm guessing before the Internet age, you used to spend your time ringing doorbells and then running away.
  16. With all respect, I think I've put it in the proper perspective: http://www.jim-rose.com/2007/11/callahans-...eam-speaks.html
  17. Great story! If it had been in a parking garage instead of a bar, it would have been shades of Watergate. "I can't tell you my name, but I work inside the athletic department" or some such phrase. Playing along with it, the most interesting part was the notion that Stoops and Pelini would have a semi-friendly rivalry if Bo coaches NU. That would be the best thing to happen to both programs. Bring back the NU-OU war!
  18. as per wikipedia yes he is, born in 1920 Jackie Gaughan family provides capstone gift for UNL's new multicultural center. "It is my hope the new Jackie D. Gaughan Multicultural Center will provide students a place where they can come together and learn to be respectful of the many unique individuals they will encounter in their lives," Jackie Gaughan said from his home in Las Vegas. "I hope they grow to understand a diverse society is truly a richer place to live." Construction of the $8.7 million center, to adjoin the east side of the Nebraska Union, will begin upon completion of final designs. As tentatively planned, the center will open in early 2010 with three floors and 30,000 square feet of space.... Gaughan is regarded as one of the first hotel and entertainment employers in Las Vegas to encourage diverse hiring practices. Courtesy photo. Unfortunately, Jackie suffers from Dementia and would not be in a position to know or understand the situation.
  19. It's a longshot, I know, but in the future, if anyone gets a tip about a flight into Duncan Aviation, see if you can get the tail-number of the plane. If so, then you can track it, find out who owns it, where it came from, etc. and that can give you some clues.
  20. Hmmm...a big time Las Vegas donor, huh? Well, I know it's not me.
  21. I'd like to see Osborne at least interview Johnson for the job. It would be interesting to see how his system would work at a school where you can get top recruits. And hey, it's the Option, baby!
