  1. Just a gut feeling, but I don't think this guy ends up in the scarlet and cream.
  2. This guy is a DT if he comes here. He is 6'0, a height Bo seems to like for DTs and he has the quickness being a RB. So bring him in, beef him up, teach the techs and footwork, he could be a very good DT with leverage you can't teach.
  3. Taylor Martinez, when he gets here in the fall, will start out at QB. Bo said so in his post spring game press conference. And Cody Green will absolutely redshirt. It would take a severe rash of injuries to pull him out of a redshirt year. Don't forget about Spano. He will be throwing again in June and will be back during the fall. He might be back, but physically not completely back, and definitely not mentally back. It takes time to mentally overcome an ACL injury. You have to "know" that knee is fine. It can take awhile to trust it.
  4. Green Will not be Redshirted until it is certain they will not need him. If for some ungodly reason Zac and LT go down, he is gonna have to be the one to come in unless we give T Martinez a shot at QB and he shows he can do it, however unlikely since he doesn't get here until fall.
  5. Might offer a few guys at the game. There's no way we can lose the "The Hawk". As a lifetime long Cubs fan we have to get "The Hawk" into the program. We have to just for namesake!!
  6. The real question might be, Do we have room for him? I guess with some guys leaving the program we should, but do we need him? Is he worth spending a scholly on? I guess he must be if Bo wants him to come in. Is he coming here on an official or unofficial?
  7. Drinking and driving is wrong. Everyone hears and knows about it. But, it still happens. The only problem I have with your take is it's harshness. I understand having a family member get killed by a drunk driver. But, as I grew up Christian forgiveness is near the top of my list. Forgive people, maybe even if they don't deserve it or want it. It sure lightens the load off your shoulders. Anyways, Niles made a mistake. He's not the first and he won't be the last. Punish him, but taking away his possible future is not a just punishment, just cruel. If you didn't give those who did wrong other chances to make themselves better and learn from mistakes why are any of us here. For those of you who haven't ever done wrong, feel free to cast the first stone. Something tells me I won't be seeing any broken glass.
  8. I think the tunnel walk with Sirius HAS to stay. However, I do like what they were trying to do with the videos and things leading up to the tunnel walk in the Cally years. I like that. It's something that makes the anticipation grow even more leading up to Sirius. But, no stupid videos like jumping out of a plane with stupid sayings. If they just would have showed the players focusing with pissed off looks in their faces and moved it into Sirius that would have been better. Anyways, I saw this online which gives you chills. Now, I HATE the Patriots, but this gets you going and I love this song, I think it's "O Fortuna" composed by Carl Orff. But they start it out like this, and I think that spills over into Crazy Train and is when the players come out onto the field.
  9. Returning starters I think will have them by the first game as long as they show up in practice the way they should. However, I do not think all the starters will have them by the first game. The new starters will have to earn them just like last years team.
  10. I don't know if we beat Carroll so much as Marlon and his family were looking for a "nice safe place" for him to go to school. If they weren't worried about him getting caught up in gangs, etc, he never even would have thought about Nebraska. So, I guess in this case, location actually helped us.
  11. Awesome!! I had heard this was going to happen. Now they can bring Okie St. or OU to the North, OU preferably, and add someone like TCU to the South. I can't believe we finally got rid of Iowa St!!!! J/K. Yes, I know this is an April Fool's Joke.
  12. Will there ever come a day soon when we get a top 5 or 10 recruit in the nation? We never get those "Wow" guys. I would think we'd be able to pull one sometime. Why wouldn't a "Wow" guy want to come here, be the man, and get national coverage? It just makes no sense to me why they all seem to want to go to the same schools. They do know if they go to a school like Texas, USC, Florida that they have alot of "Wow" guys ahead of them and they may only get a year to start if they get a chance at all right? Just boggles my mind.
  13. Newton's 2nd law doesn't agree with this "bigger and faster" thing. If Force=Mass X Acceleration, and Mass goes up, Acceleration must go down! Unless of course the added Mass leades to added Acceleration. In which, we now have more Mass, more Acceleration. And more Force! And oh yeah...more touchdowns, brocken tackles, YAC, wins, etc. HELU! Did you read your post?? If Mass goes up it doesn't mean Acceleration will go down because Force may go up. Your solution works if you keep Force constant. Anyways, just couldn't let that go.
  14. May reminds me a lot of Scott Connot from Spencer. Connot went on to star at South Dakota State as a safety. After college, he was invited to a tryout with the Chiefs. He measured in at 6'2 217 and ran a 4.43. He spent 3 seasons on their practice squad as a Safety and was a differnce maker in NFL Europe. Guys like Connot are the type of athletes Nebraska needs to sign as walk-ons. You can win a lot of games with future NFL practice squad players as either depth or upperclassmen starters. Don't get me wrong, you need guys who will become NFL draft picks to win championships, but walk-ons who can sniff the NFL are imperative to Nebraska. You must be from near Spencer or you would of had no idea who Scott Connot was. I know his brother well.
  15. Cy, you should just jump over and become a Husker fan. I can tell you want to. And if you come over to the good side now before we win our 4 national titles in a row, no one will consider it bandwagoning.
  16. Yeah, definitely sounds like Ivy league. Didn't he get offered a scholly from Harvard or something when he was a senior? From what I remember he is ridiculously smart. I think he had a brother go to an Ivy league school too? I don't know if anyone ever said what religion he is, but his brother went on a mission somewhere in the past. A mission might also be a possibility if he is LDS.
  17. Unfortunately the Arena League is "taking a season off" which doesn't look promising for the future. Which stinks because i actually enjoyed watching that. I heard they are trying to start the AAFL again in 2010...maybe he could do that To hell with waiting for next year, he could be playing football this fall, maybe just not in the NFL. But how Bout the UFL! http://www.thestar.com/Sports/article/600449
  18. 18 and 14? .............. even if it werent illegal (wich it is) its disgusting. What about 18 and 15? Is that disgusting also? The reason I say this is because even though you may become a freshman at 14, most turn 15 very early on in their freshmen year. Is 18 and 14 years 364 days disgusting also? I am from a school of around 150-160 in the whole high school. You know everyone in the school! You also don't have many good looking girls to pick from. I had friends in all grades as well as did most people. If you are within 5-6 years of one another, you basically grew up together. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want my freshman daughter going with a senior guy either, but just playing Devil's advocate a little bit about how relationships can work, especially in small towns/schools.
  19. I have a question. What about if you're 17 or 18 and the girl is 14? Most High School seniors are going to be 17 or 18 and incoming freshman are going to be 14 or 15. So how about this situation? I know this is a little off topic from about Cody, but just interested in knowing the rule here. I would say many times an 18 year old senior has been with a 14 year old freshman, so just wondering about this. Cuz if this is against the law you would think high schools would need to have info meeting on this to inform students and parents the laws. With this a possibility I would think the state might even make a law enforcing High schools to be grade 10-12 to try and keep certain age groups from mingling too much. Very interesting topic actually.
  20. I have to admit, I should probably turn myself in. I was 20 and was shagging a girl who was 17 who I'd been dating for over 2 years at the time. I mean seriously, every case has it's details. Hell, I guess I was breaking the law the entire time we were dating. I was a senior and she a freshman when we started dating. I know, I know, the senior dating a freshman, but I lived in a very, very small town, so you dated the best there was, no matter what the age(as long as in high school) because of lack of numbers of good looking girls. Anyway, these laws definitely have there places, but sometimes they just don't make complete sense depending on the circumstances.
  21. Hunter, try to keep up will you? Read the thread, and then come back and post. This should go well................... Anyways, the prosecutor's must've decided that they didn't think they had enough evidence or they thought the witness was going to back out and said forget it. No I agree with others.....if the charges were dropped he must not have done anything wrong..... Having been in some kind of rough relationships with some less than sane women I'm not saying I'm above his behavior but I think he definately lost a little control of himself here. Maybe provoked but at his size and in his position he's gonna have to find a way to not do this stuff. I for one raise eyebrows when athletes are arrested and then the charges are dropped.....hmmmm...... Domestic charges being dropped happens ALL the time every day, but being this is a husker and was made more public you got to hear about it. Could charges being dropped against an athlete be fishy? Yes and no. Could charges being dropped against a non-athlete be fishy? Yes and no. These domestic things happen all the time every day, and when things calm down and the couple talk it over, many, many times charges get dropped because the woman/man don't want to go thru with it. As public as domestic cases can become, most are dealt with privately between the couple. An athlete is a human as much as any of us. They get emotional in relationships also. Personally, the DUIs, MIPs, etc seem worse to me, because these are things they can control more than one can control emotions. Cut the guy some slack, never been in trouble before that I know of and he let his emotions about a girl get in the way of his judgement. It's a good thing he didn't do this in Iowa as victims can't drop domestic charges in this state. They can try, but the prosecutors are the one's who decide that ultimate fate. I figured Nebraska was the same way since we are a bordering state? It's the same in Nebraska as Iowa; County Attorney has the final say on whether to file the charges. BRI I know I am preaching to the choir but it is an assembly line job, we do ours and hope the prosecution does theirs when it is there turn. Turner did two days, and I hope that he learns not to go hands on his girlfriend again. This is all true, but the prosecuter isn't going to go forth without cooperation from the victim in most cases. And why won't he? Mainly because of money, but also without cooperation his case is junk. If he tried the case without cooperation from the witness, he would waste ALOT of money and lose. He has a job and I'm sure he'd like to keep it.
  22. Well, then that guy should have sued the bar! Really he could put up a pretty good argument that the bar was at fault for him thinking the girl was 21.

  24. Doesn't Barry have a child? I think I heard something about a child being at the place while this all happened. If so, I feel horrible if the child saw any of this!! Sometimes as a guy, you just have to say F*ck it! Chicks are crazy and can become a different person at a drop of a hat(personal experience).
