  1. I heard from my wife's, mother's uncle, who knows a guy who used to sell seed in north-east Nebraska that he knows a farmer who bought a center pivot irragation system from a company in valley and has a repair man who lives in Columbus, who occasionally eats breakfast in a cafe where TO once had coffee and has a waitress who can't keep a secret that TO and HP will be stopping somewhere along the Ala. gulf coast in order to buy a couple gallons of oysters from Beach Buffs. I tell you true. ...T_O_B
  2. Just took a trip through TigerDroppings.com and it doesn't sound like they know anymore than we do. Just lots of speculation. Its going to happen when it happens. ...T_O_B

  7. Well he took us to a new level alright. I believe that the walk on program was an incredible influence on the attitude and character of the program. To show out-state scholarship players how much it means just to have the opportunity to wear the scarlet and creame. BC couldn't figure this out and he lost the spirit and passion of his team and he lost his job. Bad move, real bad move. ...T_O_B
  8. ESPN has always had it in for Neb. TO was never a good interview and they couldn't the sound bites they wanted so they decided to bash us instead. It always pi$$ed me off when they would reference, "former Nebraska football star, Lawrence Phillips..." every time the kid spit on the street. He turned out to be a bad guy but that was more a product of his So Cal upbringing than his time with the Huskers. If ESPN wasn't the only game in town... ...T_O_B
  9. OK this season was crap. A couple of the wins even felt like losses. Last Friday hurt and it STINKS, STINKS that the season is over before January but.. The Legend is back and has the AD's reigns in hand. Cally and company are gone. A new coach and staff will soon bring order back to the North End Zone. Get up off the matt, dust yourself off and get ready to be BIG RED again. We've got some scores to settle... When is the spring game? Who wants to get together, party in Lincoln and celebrate a new beginning? The First Annual Husker Board Spring Whoop It UP and Party On Dude Party ...T_O_B

  11. I kind of like it. Brings those of us who don't have the privledge of living in Nebraska a little more into the fold. ...T_O_B
  12. I was a big supporter of Callahan, more or less giving him a chance to make things work, but I support the decision to fire him. It is awful hard to defend the performance of the team as a whole. The second half against CU was a microcosm of this season and a reminder of why he was being fired. He did a few good things while he was here, but sadly, it is time to move on. I agree. I supported him as well and will support the new coach no matter who it is. This season was just atrocious and can't be defended. I think the thing that sucks most about the whole situation is a lack of continuity. It comes with the territory but it's one thing that Osborne spoke to as being a key to success. I completely agree. If NU is unable to recover this year's recruiting classes, we could very well see a "hole" in the team 3 to 4 years from now. It's nice to hear a guy like Osborne talking about big picture things like that, while a lot of people don't. A lot of people are rejoicing. I am not. It could very well get a lot worse before it gets any better I agree with you Dave. We are in uncharted waters here and things could get really rocky if we don't get the right coach here and soon. I always dreaded the day when TO would finally retire. It came far too soon. One thing that helped TO was that Devaney stayed on as AD. I'm optimistic but still aprehensive. There are sure to be some pot holes in the road we have chosen. Let he who fills our sails with wind direct our course. ...T_O_B
  13. If we are ever going to have a playoff then the major conferences absolutely need to have a championship game. If its some kind of NCAA rule that you can't have a championship game if you don't have 12 teams then either you change the rule or the Big 10 (11) and the Pac 10 play each other on the 1st of Dec. to determine their representative in the playoffs. The playoffs run through Dec. and on New Years Day you play 4 Bowl games to determine 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th place. Four Bowl games that actually have some meaning. ...T_O_B
