  1. It likely will not be a lateral move, although it's not clear exactly what Frost may be offered. It's possible his title at Nebraska may have the word Co-_______ in it.
  2. Tom worked for Bob Devaney. The Bobfather wasn't the choirboy people think Tom is/was (neither was Tom the choirboy people think he was for that matter). The fact that Bo is not perfect is not lost on Tom, but perfection isn't a job requirement. The Bobfather was very much not perfect, and Tom knew that, but the fact is that Devaney got it done on the field. Bo has some chinks in his armor. There are some things I really don't like. But taken as a whole he's a hell of a football coach, and for only having done this for three years, he's doing a hell of a job in a lot of areas. I'm hoping he continues to improve in the areas in which he has deficiencies. I'm willing to stand behind him while he goes through the learning curve, even though it's painful sometimes. Here's hoping he gets a lot better at PR stuff really quickly.
  3. Did you see that on the OWH tweet? I checked it out, too. Also the Asst. VB Coach app, now that Sullivan left. I don't know squat about recruiting volleyball, but I could draw up some diagrams and coach some technique.
  4. Scott looks better in Scarlet & Cream than green and gold. If he comes here, it won't happen for a few weeks. The offensive changes are taking longer than the defensive changes. I'm becoming more happy about the future of our offense, though.
  5. OK, sorry, I was trying to say it nicely. Marvin Sanders was fired. Had he not resigned he would have been let go by the University. I'm not going to get into why, but that's the situation.
  6. Marvin did not wake up Thursday AM and decide he no longer wanted to coach at Nebraska. He wanted to retire here. His separation, while listed as a "resignation," is not voluntary. I'm sure he submitted resignation papers, but had he not he would have been "fired" (or, his contract would not have been renewed, or however they would have phrased it). Allowing him to resign allows him to save some face. Expect more coaches to resign before Spring practice. It's the nature of the beast. And to quote a famous American from earlier in this thread, I am "less than proud of this" situation with Jackson. You gotta feel for the kid. Hack had a great point that you should NEVER go to a school based on assistants because they come and go, but we knew there was change in the wind weeks ago. I am 100% in Bo's camp. I like the guy, I want him to stay here. But sometimes I think we need to organize an Intervention and save him from himself. He puts himself in these situations by continually doing the wrong thing.
  7. You posted in another thread that Bo is "in danger of losing the fanbase." I was just wondering what happened yesterday (which I suppose could be added to previous concerns held by some regarding his sideline demeanor) to cause that opinion. If it's because he "misled" fans (like you) then yes, I think you are taking it personally. So, I made a guess that your interpretation of Bo's comments as being misleading to fans, or whatever you think he did that does not meet your expectations, caused you some hurt feelings. I hope that explanation is less nonsensical, even if you still disagree with my conclusion But if you say your feelings aren't hurt, then I believe you. Wouldn't want to blow your "dispassionate" cover I did post that Bo was in danger of losing the fan base, and I cited examples of Billy C's behavior that got him run out of town. A person can do that and have no personal concern. But you continue to think what you want to think. Whatever makes you happy.
  8. Els is going to be the guy. They aren't bringing him in for an interview for nothing. If he's come to Lincoln (not sure if that's true) the job is his.
  9. Where in the world do you come up with stuff like this? This is the kind of stuff I'd be sure to have the ability to back up before I'd post.
  10. Everyone, the bottom line is we're being overly cautious right now. We have had discussions with legal people in the past regarding content posted on the board. At this moment we're taking it slow so that we have a HuskerBoard today, tomorrow and years from now. Nobody wants to censor anyone, and no, nobody likes this. If there is a time when we can openly discuss things here, we'll allow it.
  11. No, no, no, no, no. Nobody is being booted. Polo was messing with my post to make a joke.
  12. There may be some posts disappearing from this thread. Censorship is not our intent. Please bear with us.
  13. You've already been seconded. I can't hold you down.
  14. Players have received a mass text requesting that they don't talk about Sanders' resignation. I'm sure that'll keep a lid on leaks. Hopefully they also texted coach Wilson from Indiana.
  15. So you're saying that those recruits with an eye for interior design will be drawn to Oregon? That's just FABulous! Nothing says "strength" more than a house built of glass. Kudos, Ducks.
  16. They mentioned on 1620 that Sanders didn't go on the last visit to see Jackson which was thought to be odd at the time. I'll bet that was an awkward visit if they talked about why he wasn't there.
  17. This sucks. I liked Coach Sanders. He was my favorite coach from Football 101, without question.
  18. So you're saying that those recruits with an eye for interior design will be drawn to Oregon? That's just FABulous!
  19. Now we'll find out how candid we were with recruits on approaching staff changes. Sanders was the lead recruiter for Charles Jackson.
  20. The interesting thing about that article is that there are no quotes of Delany saying the Big 10 wants to expand south. It seems to extrapolate from Delany's broad statements about the Big 10 being aware of population shifts to the south, but it doesn't specifically say - and I've googled a bit and can't find this - that Delany wants to actually acquire a southern school. Concomitant to those statements about southern expansion is a direct quote from Delany stating the Big 10 doesn't want a championship game. I'm thinking maybe Mr. Delany was talking out of his posterior a bit. These articles are all dated 25 days prior to Nebraska joining the Big 10. Maybe they're just to throw people off the trail of what the Big 10 was really doing.
  21. Looks like GHOST and canttakeitanymore need seconds. Anyone?
