  1. I despise the sound system. We sit in the North end zone and are absolutely smothered in noise. It's very annoying. Here's the new Tunnel Walk video. It's OK. LINK
  2. You can see the play where Meredith got injured at 4:30. He was all twisted up, and it looked like the lineman had a LOT of jersey there.
  3. Point of fact - Bobby does NOT like the "duke" nickname.
  4. Yes? Martinez clearly offered something Lee does not. I have NOTHING against Lee, but there is a clear difference in the abilities these guys displayed. Even if Lee wasn't in Bo's doghouse, there's no reason to believe Martinez wouldn't have beaten him for the job. What does a doghouse matter in the face of greater ability?
  5. I have to wonder how much that "five times better" stuff goes out the window with the injuries to Blue, Compton, Fisher and Meredith. That's a lot of guys out.
  6. I didn't see the first half due to family obligations. I was NOT happy with the defense. I expected a lot more from the line. I felt like they were playing soft all game, very little pressure on the QB, and gave up way too many stupid yards. Those two scoring drives by WKU were awful. Niles Paul dropped a ball. How shocking. TMart - it's clear that nobody is in Bo's doghouse, but that Martinez earned the starting job. He looked great out there, in command and a true weapon. Not a bad game at all for a RFreshman. Where was Roy? Seemed like Burkhead outplayed him. And what's up with DTray getting stuffed twice in the first half? I was very surprised by that. Dumb penalties. Overall, this did not live up to my expectations from Bo's descriptions of camp. I expected a lot more.
  7. Aside from a few guys posting here who have insight inside the program, nobody here "knows" anything. All the guys inside are saying Martinez, so who am I to gainsay them?
  8. Carl Pelini won't lower expectations for linebackers
  9. The Vandals are Nebraska's second opponent this year and have started their season tonight against North Dakota. I know I've been pointing to this game against Idaho for a while as a game we'd better not let up on... but maybe I spoke too soon. Sure, the Vandals are currently up 31-0 in the third quarter, and Nathan Enderle has gone 25/37 for 341 yards and two TDs, but he's also thrown a pick and he's been sacked three times. Overall the Fighting Sioux have four sacks. To North Dakota. Is that blood I smell, floating in the water? EDIT - I screwed up on the opponent name. Thanks, Crewe.
  10. Me either. I think you either have to live near the border or in Iowa, or have some sort of daily interaction with Iowegians to care about them. Aside from the random posts of hatred around here, I can't say I've thought about Iowa or their fans five times since this whole expansion thing came up. I'm more interested in rubbing elbows with OSU, PSU, Michigan and Wisconsin.
  11. He led the team in tackles, but he wasn't the "#1" coming into the Fall. Now he has to make good on the promise he showed, as does David, as does May, as does Martin. We don't have unskilled guys out there. What we have are a bunch of talented but raw guys. Raw talent can be exploited, which is why everyone's shorts got a little tighter with this news about Compton. Where's Willie? I want to know who's responsible for making the defensive calls. Was it Compton? If so, who takes over?
  12. I never, ever get tired of listening to that.
  13. The same number of starts Demorrio Williams had when he came over from JUCO. David could be the second coming of Williams or he could be the second coming of Hoogie Pringle - we don't know yet. To declare this as "completely devastating" is a little over the top. Let's wait until our D starts getting gashed. THEN we can bemoan our fate. Until then... have some kool-aid!.
  14. All I've ever said was that I will support the guy who starts. I don't care if that's Lee or Green or Martinez. They're all Huskers, and I like them all just the same. I don't have a horse in this race.
  15. Welcome back, Nexus. As you can see, you've been missed. "Vacationing in Ireland." Is that what the kids call a six-week bikini cruise with Miss January these days?
  16. There have been people posting that Lee would start. There have been people posting that Green would start. There have been people posting that TMart would start. None of us knew two months ago who it would be. You're going to sit here and gloat because the horse you chose seems to be the starter? That's pretty lame.
  17. Remember that conference realignment may not be done, and it's possible that 2011 is the only year we'll play this schedule. BOJ was correct about maximizing eyeballs as the primary explanation for this schedule. They want as many people looking at the Big 10 as possible, and this schedule will certainly help, which will boost ratings, which will make the Big 10 even more interesting for prospective teams. The Big 12-2 is on the brink of collapse. If A&M doesn't get the money they expect, they're bolting. Missouri already has one foot out the door. The Pac-10+2 has a door open ready and waiting for half the Big12. The MAC wants to increase their appeal, and the ACC isn't going to sit around idle if this all starts up again. Even if none of that happens, they came out and said that they're likely going to go to a nine-game schedule in 2015, so even if there's no more expansion, we're only looking at this schedule for one cycle, then it's going to change again. I say let's play 'em all and let it sort itself out on the field. There isn't a team on that schedule we can't beat.
  18. I really don't think that's the case at all. Remember what Watson said about TMart after the Spring Game: If they're putting TMart into the game, it's because they think he can move the offense, plain and simple. They know how close we were to three more wins last year, and they're definitely not going to go conservative on the offense. If anything they're trying to make it more potent.
  19. I Have to agree that he is muscleing up for a deep pass. If you look at the score board behind him NU is down 41-20. No, the scoreboard says it's 1st and 10 on the 41 yard line.
  20. Yep. Tough as nails. He couldn't scramble an egg, but he stayed in that pocket committing his body to the pass like nobody we've ever had before or since. He was a good kid, a TOUGH hombre, and it just sucks that we only had him two years. What would he have done with a proper O Line? Just think.
  21. I can't give you all the details, but rest assured that if you do, wet noodles will be used on your person.
  22. Thread locked, warning level adjusted, brakes put on posting ability. Trollery will not go unpunished.
  23. WKU - W Idaho - W @Washington - W (if our secondary really is this good, shouldn't be hard) SDSU - W @K-State - W Texas - L @OK State - W (probably a last-possession win) Mizzou - W ISU - W Kansas - W @A&M - W (shootout) CU - W (sending the Buffies out in style with a romp) CCG vs. Oklahoma - W (Should be one hell of a game) Bowl Game - L. So hard to predict a W over a team you don't know. I'm guessing it'll be a close loss in a low-scoring affair.
