  1. I wouldn't bet against Lee at this point. Nothing we've heard from anyone says he's not doing well. Paul (or was it Kinnie?) was saying that Lee was rocketing the ball in camp. Unless he gets bit by the injury bug we've contracted, expect him to be the starter.
  2. Several reasons why this could have happened, from the alleged big brawl at practice yesterday to the alleged injuries, to some comments made by players to the press to all sorts of things. Oh yeah - it's not just the press that's shut out:
  3. Good for Pelosi. Discrimination should not go unpunished. If it turns out this isn't discriminatory all the better. But this is the job we're paying congress to do.
  4. We would need WAY more information to answer this question. Best answer with what you've said - Maybe. I take it you and your cousin had different attorneys? When did this happen?
  5. He's still dealing with recovery. He wasn't on the 105 to start camp. I think Bo said they're going to add him when camp ends.
  6. If nothing else, this ought to put the Taylor Martinez rumors to rest. He's still on the team, still a QB, apparently.
  7. The only time I went to Manhattan the entire stadium was Red, so I don't know.
  8. Then take it up with the Admins. This has been discussed in the past, and we've chosen to err on the side of caution.
  9. Are you sure that you are not thinking of "road" games at neutral sites? Maybe? I just have a recollection of thinking that it was odd seeing our home uniforms at someone else's field, and that it was because they wanted to wear a unique jersey, like Colorado wearing all black or something like that. It's not a solid memory, so I could be wrong.
  10. If you're talking about full patterns, then it's Ghost Rider. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to sip on my nice, steaming hot cup of joe...
  11. The answer to #1 is "maybe." And nobody here is going to take that chance. This board is not a forum for free speech any more than your workplace. AR Husker Fan has explained this on occasion, so maybe he'll chime in with the legalese on it, but this isn't a First Amendment issue.
  12. I just explained why this could cause problems.
  13. The key to keeping your football program financially viable is to have a solid program. You shouldn't have to rely on gimmicks to keep your program running, because after a while the novelty factor wears off and you're back to square one.
  14. She won't have a leg to stand on. Arkansas is an At-Will state, and she can be fired for wearing that hat. Funny thing - I use a Huskers/Sooners example to explain this to people when they question this law. Now I have something concrete to show them that you can be fired for dumb reasons like this. In most every state we work at the will of our employer. Barring CBAs or other contracts, most anyone can be hired, fired, promoted, demoted, have their hours cut, wages cut, privileges cut, etc and there's not a thing they can do about it. It's the decision of the employer, and the employer alone. EDIT - Well, she might have a leg to stand on. Arkansas modified their law to state that the employer must show cause for an indefinitely-termed employment, so if she had an open-ended employment with the station, she may be able to sue them. It'll be incumbent on the station to show cause, and it's possible that wearing the hat could be construed as intentionally aggravating the coach, thus jeopardizing the station's relationship with the team, etc, etc, etc. She'll have quite the uphill battle to fight, let's put it that way.
  15. Congratulations! It's good that you realize you're hopelessly lost at this point. They have a way of taking over your life - but it's a good thing. A very good thing.
  16. It's not just about sports. Why do people who are so hung up in their religion and/or beliefs feel the need to push them onto others? Believe whatever you want to believe and do whatever you want to do as long as it doesn't affect me, but don't start blowing your cultish smoke up my rear end. Some of these sheep who constantly try to suck others into their gig are pathetic. It's not much of a stretch to call organized religion a publicly accepted cult. Where are you going, what are you doing, who are you seeing where you're being forced into a cult? I must be missing this.
  17. Good updates, Runner. Sucks for ISU. That's a heck of a blow to a team on the rise. I hope CJ has them ready to play despite the crummy distractions. I'm just glad Destiny Hooker graduated. After the regular season ended I was glad not to have to face her anymore... until I saw our seed. That girl was liquid lightning, and while she was fun to watch, I hated to watch her on the other side of the net so often.
  18. Great post, zoogs. My philosophy is to err on the side of caution every time, and I agree 100% with the locking of the thread. The Mods are not infallible, and I've sure made my share of mistakes, but there are things happening behind the scenes that the regular users are not aware of that make locking threads like that make more sense. Guys, UNL watches these boards, as do many other "concerned parties." We have to remember that this is not just a fun place to come discuss the Huskers, it's also a business, and it's liable for the same legal troubles that any other business is liable for. Great post. Regarding the bold, we have been contacted in the recent past about posts on this board. We have had to have discussions about board content in relation to those contacts, and the bottom line is, nobody wants to end up in court over something that's easily handled by a little bit of caution. We'd all like to have complete freedom to discuss everything we want to discuss, but when it's written down somewhere and someone can be held accountable for those words, things change. I think everyone would agree that a slightly cautious HuskerBoard is better than no HuskerBoard at all. Right?
  19. Exactly. Jason White blew his knee without getting touched when we played Oklahoma in 2001.
  20. I believe overnight we blocked out the rest of the US. I'll see if I can't get my sis-in-law to block out France for us.
  21. I remember playing red jerseys at away games before, but I'm not recalling when off the top of my head. It happens, but it's not common. n.e.husker is right about Wiscy - we'll have to figure something out with those guys.
  22. Kinda hard to keep up on these battles when Bo doesn't talk about his depth chart at all, isn't it?
