  1. Of course. But that's human nature. Depending on how egregious it is, I may even start one of those threads myself.
  2. As unlikely as it is that we keep our coaching staff intact long-term, I'd at least like to get another year or two before the vultures start pecking at our coaches.
  3. I think Ira is right - Bo would never have stayed. And on top of that, Callahan wanted Cos, so the odds were nil that it would have happened. BUT, if it had, it could have been a pretty good deal for us. It's a small sample size, but averaging the three Bo Pelini defenses and the four Bill Callahan offenses, you get a team that scores 28 points a game and gives up 18. That's winning football. But, of course, it went far beyond wins/losses with Callahan. He changed the culture too much to stick around. He was never one of us. He was never going to be a permanent part of our landscape. All things considered, I'm glad there's no way Callahan woulda coulda shoulda stayed.
  4. Yep. I'm already steeling myself for this. As long as it's not too blatant and we weren't going to win anyway I'll chalk it up to the regular old bad officiating we've seen all year. But if we're moving toward a potential game-winning score and suddenly get a bunch of holding penalties... I'm going to be grumpy.
  5. Speaking of the bad officiating, I can't believe I forgot this. Was it one or two plays in the second half where Rex Burkhead took nearly half a step before the ball was snapped and they didn't call it? I have to go look at the game again, but it was at least one snap, if not two, that he did that.
  6. I always park at the Indian Center at 10th & Military. $10, you're surrounded by lots of good tailgaters, and it's a five-minute walk down the sidewalk to the stadium.
  7. I'm on day three of a bad insomnia run, if that makes my slowness more understandable. I'm about asleep here....
  8. Ummm didn't baylor beat missouri at missouri.....thought so. What does that have to do with anything? That must have whooshed right over my head.... he said texas had 4 weeks off in a row acting like baylor is no big deal, but they didnt seem to have a problem beating missouri. I didn't see that MUTigerFan had posted that. Nevermind.
  9. Nine wins is only a 'benchmark' because of our past. With the new, longer schedules, nine wins is less impressive. But it's still going to be looked at as the benchmark by older fans.
  10. Ummm didn't baylor beat missouri at missouri.....thought so. What does that have to do with anything? That must have whooshed right over my head....
  11. Good point, S.A.M., but we also have to remember that Bo is still drilling his culture into Callahan's recruits, so he's got some stuff working against him.
  12. McNeil has one TD in our last six games, and he's averaging three receptions for about 20 yards per game. I'd keep looking if I were you.
  13. College fantasy. Gotcha. I thought you were doing some REALLY early prep work for 2010. Frankly, McNeil hasn't been getting many targets this year. On top of that, Lee hasn't been lighting up AQ teams. I would think you'd have better options than McNeil. He's way too spotty to pick up for a championship game. What's your format? PPR?
  14. Ah. Well then.... I don't care. But thanks for posting. But seriously, though, has The Manhatter gone missing or something? I don't get this thread, or why it's important here. knapplc <---------- kinda slow on the uptake, apparently.... ?
  15. Who is "The Manhatter" and why do we care about him?
  16. You looking to draft a sleeper in your rookie draft? =) McNeil has good skills, but the offense hasn't been going his way until lately. That has more to do with what defenses are giving the Huskers than McNeil's skills, though. Watch his TD against KSU. He sold that route and two defenders bit, and he was wide open for the score. He's good.
  17. It's going to take about 48 hours from the time we saw Suh back up there until he overtakes Spiller at this pace. That's respectable.
  18. People are really being stupid about this. Suh has 130 first place votes but is sixth behind four others who have less #1 votes. Case Keenum has 17 first place votes, but is ahead of Suh. That means a LOT of people are leaving him off of their ballot entirely.
  19. Fair enough. It's a dubious point, and really hard to prove. Wait - what? I have total respect for you, BB! You've always been great to talk to. I don't have much love for your team, but you and fro and Cy and Killer Cacti and most of the fans whose teams we've played against are great, fun people. There's the football animosity I have for Colorado between the stripes, but off the field I hope everyone associated with the team is happy and healthy. I would hate for you to think I had anything against you. You're good people.
  20. I keep hearing things that a rivalry must include respect but everytime I cite examples of rivalries that are between schools that rate on just about everyone's Top 10 in college footbal and then I point out how much hate and lack of respect there is between those two schools all I hear is crickets. Because you're being myopic about those rivalries. Sure, Alabama/Auburn has plenty of vitriol. Heck, Nebraska/Oklahoma used to as well. You couldn't drive across a small town in Nebraska in the 80s without seeing the bumper sticker "Better Dead Than Sooner Red," or, "If I owned Hell and Oklahoma, I'd live in Hell and rent out Oklahoma." But at the same time you're going to be able to find folks in Alabama that root for the Tide and have respect (but not love) for Auburn, and vice versa. We had a love/hate relationship with the Sooners back in the day. Today it's mitigated because we miss playing each other so much, but if we played every year for the next ten years, it wouldn't take more than two or three for some angst to show up again. That doesn't mean there's a lack of respect. It means you want to beat that team with all the fiber of your being.
  21. Tebow, Bradford and McCoy were head and shoulders above everyone else, though. This year with a muddled field I would be surprised if five didn't make the trip.
  22. I agree, but I'm sure Clemson fan is stuffing the box with any means they can. Didn't they come up with about 70k votes in a matter of what, 10 days? Just saying... They did, and it's possible they were stuffing, but we came up with 35,000 votes in, what? Two days? Something like that? I would venture a guess that most of Spiller's and Suh's votes are legit. We're a couple of pretty cool fan bases, and we both have a LOT of fans. After the Gator Bowl last year, wouldn't it be fun to see Spiller and Suh sitting next to each other at The Downtown Athletic Club? I'd get a real kick out of that.
