  1. On what planet? Here are the rankings for your "good offensive teams" Notre Dame - 40 Colorado St. - 70 Fresno St - 28 Troy - 103 Ohio St - 55 Not one in the top 25 in scoring, yet they're "pretty good offensive teams." I'd say they're all average offensive teams at best (they average 59.2, or right about the middle of the Div 1A pack).
  2. To put those scoring defense numbers in a little more perspective, here are the Big 12 ranks in SOS (Sagarin) and scoring defense (NCAA stats): Team SOS SDEF Texas Tech 57 46 Nebraska 78 3 Oklahoma 81 1 Colorado 87 77 Missouri 91 25 Baylor 94 45 Texas 101 23 Oklahoma St. 104 44 Iowa State 113 36 Kansas St. 118 26 Kansas 150 14 Texas A&M 177 34 According to these numbers, Oklahoma and Nebraska have the early lead in "best Big 12 defense" bragging rights. Teams in the North should be ranked higher based on the weaker competition they've played, but they're giving up plenty of points to weak teams. When they start Big 12 play with all of these high-powered offenses, look to see those scoring defense numbers plummet.
  3. Asante tweaked his ankle making a cut on a pass. He made the interception and ran it back 85 yards for the score, then fell down after the adrenaline wore off. They're saying he'll be fine and ready to go for the Missouri game. Thenarse's knee buckled when he made a cut on a play. Bo came out on the field for this injury to talk to Thenarse, something he hasn't done for any other injury this year (that I've seen). Talk is that he ruptured something, but it's as yet unconfirmed.
  4. Agreed. Those of us saying Baylor was one-dimensional were being ignored. People were calling for the Husker upset, calling it a "trap game," etc. Now that's all over and done with because their one weapon is hurt.
  5. According to Sean Callahan on the radio this AM he's going to be OK. Thenarse, on the other hand.... not so good.
  6. Yep. Bo was on the sidelines talking to the refs and he must have said "pick it up" about ten times. The replay clearly showed the guy catching the ball with our guy almost FOUR YARDS away. Horrible call that when the refs review their game they'll get downgraded on. I think they were swayed by the severity of the hit. That was one of the best special teams hits we've seen in a LONG time. We're coming back.
  7. Any ranking that shows Missouri's SOS in the top 20 is a farce.
  8. Yep. Really too bad that he's hurt, but it wouldn't have mattered one bit. This was going to be a Husker win no matter what.
  9. Just wondering - have you ever visited a Tiger board? Or (excluding yourself and Fro) have you paid any attention to the Missouri fans posting here? If we're going to netcop everyone's grammar, we're going to need to start with Missouri fans.
  10. That and $1.50 will get you a cup of bad coffee. The guys who walloped Nebraska the last two years are gone. You should hold on to those memories - I'm sure they're pretty good for you. I work with a Missouri fan who relishes those games, and more power to her/you/MU fans everywhere. But none of that has any bearing on this year. Well, check that - the only bearing it might have is this - MU remembers those wins and is overconfident and/or Nebraska remembers those losses and gets loaded up for vengeance. Other than that, 2007 and 2008 have no bearing on this game.
  11. That and the multiple plyers wearing the same number. Funny story. We're watching the game last night and my mother in law sees Brooks catch his TD pass. Then a few minutes later she says, "He does kickoffs, too?" Names are a good thing.
  12. Then your point is weaker if you're only talking about 2009. You're claiming "Missouri has backed up their smack" and Nebraska hasn't. You're basing this on... what? Missouri's 111th ranked SOS? Four creampuffs is hardly "backing up smack." I am basing this off the fact that MU has owned NU the last few years and they have won the most recent games against us. What was the score of last years NU vs. MU game? And the year before that? They have beaten NU most recently. Sure we own the series but they have throttled us the last few years. Because they beat NU last year, they have every and all rights to talk smack against NU and their fans. How the tide turns is for NU to step up and win. They do this and the MU smack stops. If not, it continues. It's just that simple..... I love how your argument changes. Now that we've got your argument pinned down, my original comment to you stands - your argument would carry a lot more weight if this was last year. Chase is gone, Maclin is gone, both Coordinators are gone, and this is not as talented a team as Missouri 2008. All this "scoreboard" talk is cheap. It carries as much weight as Nebraska's 30+ game advantage in the all-time series. None of those guys are playing this year. Points don't carry forward. We have this year and this year only on which to base opinions, and Missouri's resume to this point isn't as good as Nebraska's. My point haven't changed on bit. Instead of trying to pin anybody's point, you should try comprehension first. Just sit back read. Feel free to continue to move your lips as you do. Don't attack the person, attack the argument.

  15. If this were 2008 your point would carry more weight.
  16. They didn't ban Kansas fans. They didn't ban Iowa State fans. They didn't ban Missouri fans. They didn't ban fans from the South. All they banned were Husker fans. If there's one thing you needed to know anything about that board, that's it. Pathetic.
  17. Until I read it in the paper I didn't know he was injured. I missed that in the game.
  18. From my complete layman's perspective Amukamara's injury didn't appear too serious.
  19. As much as I would love to see that happen, not a chance. We still don't get much respect and quite franky, we still have to earn it with a good couple wins against ranked teams. Not just moral victories. Agreed. We beat Missouri and we'll have that ranking, perhaps higher depending on who else loses between now and then. But we do need to earn it with results, not just moral victories.
  20. We could win the Sunbelt, the North and the Big XII all in the same year.

    Agreed on all counts.
  22. It depends whether the voters remember our game last week or whether they just look at our win/loss column. If they've forgotten, we'll hover somewhere around 20. If they remember how well we played and compare that to how VT dismantled Miami, we should be around 15.
  23. Calling Missouri Meth U is a cheap laugh. Let's be more clever than that. And I could tell stories about meth here in Nebraska, right here in Lincoln. Just about everyone could. Let's not be the pot or the kettle, K?
