  1. Gerald McCoy may be the best defensive tackle in the Big 12, so Suh for Heisman is quite a stretch. I wholeheartedly agree with the Heisman being a joke, anyway. Jen's comment about Bradford at Iowa State, etc, is dead on.
  2. Isn't that Paul's job? I haven't heard who's returning punts, but I would think Paul would. He has the most experience.
  3. I got my money's worth out of that. Good stuff.
  4. Impressive. Most impressive. But he is not a Jedi yet.
  5. Lots of funny ones. Husker37 - that was a long read, but the punch line was a knee slapper.
  6. From Q Those are some great comments. I'm glad to see Q has no hard feelings. I think the majority of us are sad to see him go, wish him the best, and wish that he was still here regardless of the lack of depth issue. I'm sure most of us will be following his career in NW State.
  7. True. Pruning trees of dead branches causes new branches to grow. Bailey Quarters taught me that.
  8. I did take that all into account, which is why I led off the thread with Paul as a "given." I was just opining on where Jen was coming from.
  9. Actually, that is pretty freaking sweet man. That is a cool Husker pic now, haha!
  10. To me, the hype about Paul is harder to take because we've seen him bumbling out there on the field. We have yet to see Lee stink up the joint.... or do anything at all. In this case, Lee's lack of exposure is actually helping him, while Paul's is hurting to a degree. It all boils down to how much you trust what the coaches are telling you, or how good you are at interpreting coachspeak.
  11. I didn't know Kevin Steele was at Clemson. He was our LB coach for a few years here at Nebraska. He's been all over, in the NFL, a HC stint at Baylor.... everywhere. He's a good guy.
  12. The creepiest mascot in all the land is that freaky tree they have at Stanford.
  13. Dude, let it go. A couple of people make a very minor point about thread bucketing, and you go on and on about it. Enough. As to the topic, I have no idea why people don't like Lil' Red. He's cool. He's more interesting to young kids, and he was pretty unique at the time he was created.
  14. Hey, Orange. I wish I could help you out, but I'm not able. Looks like hskrfan4life may be able to hook you up, though. I'm curious - how are people in Clemson looking at the upcoming season? Lots of anticipation, I presume? Swinney's first full year as HC should be fun, and I think you guys have plenty of talent. What's the mood over there?
  15. Here it is, the semifreddo version of the WR shot-calling thread. You've been brave enough to dabble in the not-so-murky world of QBs, where Zac Lee enters as King and the ducks are in their rows. But are you Husker enough to call the WRs this year? No fewer than 16 players entered Fall Camp vying for playing time at Wide Receiver this year. Coach Wats let slip that Niles Paul is the front-runner for game time, so that's your easy pick. What we're looking for are your next two WRs who will have the biggest impact this year. Just two, your top two. GO. _________________________ My top two are Brandon Kinnie and Chris Brooks. Call it a gut feeling, call it prescience, call it whatever. I think these three guys - Paul, Kinnie and Brooks - will have the biggest impact this year. Yeah, Meno Holt is getting a lot of press, but maybe, just maybe, this is Brooks' year. Time will tell.
  16. If you want to know what it means to be a Husker fan, this explains it right here. Any other team in the Big XII North would be ecstatic over the Solich and Callahan eras, pointing to them as their 'Golden Age.' At Nebraska, we're disappointed as all hell.
  17. Yes and no. All BCS conferences aren't created equal. It's murky when you start comparing percentages, because you have to consider SOS as well, even if you exclude weak conferences and focus only on the subject teams.
  18. Winning percentage doesn't tell us anything. Put Boise State in the SEC or the Big 12 and you can cut that winning percentage in half.
  19. You're just saying that because you want free frosted flakes.
  20. No problem. And to be clear, I have no idea which schools have already started classes and which haven't. Also, who's to say that many schools weren't scared off of Q from what they've heard from UNL? Other schools will do their due diligence before signing him, and he's not without blemish. I'm sure they've called Bo, and I'm sure Bo told them what he was able. That could have ruled out many, many schools.
  21. He has to enroll before classes start, so any school whose classes have already started would be off his list.
  22. I don't want to be stereotyped.
