Did any of you see Callahan leave the field after the game?
Captain K replied to np_husker's topic in Husker Football
Never mind. The Lodgepole Beacon has reported BC had the runs and ran straight to the can. -

Callahan's Agent on Bill's status...
Captain K replied to moe's topic in Rumorville: Hirings / Firings / What Ifs
BC's agent calls us stupid. BC calls the Raiders the dumbest. What are the odds these two guys get together. A perfect marriage. As if Bill wasn't going to have enough trouble finding a job. Who the hell would want to deal with his a$$hat agent? -
These guys will at least be in the discussion. Cincy leads 13-3. See their O and D philosophies in action.

He played a great game, for sure! K-State played the same D we played last week. We'd have had a ton of success with one of those cotton ball slingin' electric football quarterbacks from back in the day. BBBBZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Actually Freeman did a pretty good imitation of one on the last play of the 1st half. Damn thing would always start going in circles and running the wrong way. Unfortunately, Turner sacked him before he could get to our end zone

Did they even bring any recruit in for this game? If not then thats enough of a reason to get rid of this staff. good question and good point! I heard they had no official visitors today.

We had stud qb's who could run and throw. How about McCathorn Clayton and Mickey Joseph. Well maybe they weren't studs, but they were the best guys we could convince to come to Lincoln.

Stew Mandel's hiring advice for TO
Captain K replied to bethelbacker's topic in Rumorville: Hirings / Firings / What Ifs
Remember last time we got turned down by a few people. It may come down to Gill for just that reason. I doubt he says no to TO. It is fun to speculate over all these "hot candidates" but the reality is, not all would even consider NU, unfortunately. -
Thanks to the producer and huskers77 for posting. Actually teared up when Crouch caught that double reverse pass. Almost gagged when SP's mug appeared after the NC game in Miami.

And what's up with all the pads and plastic helmets with facemasks?

I just heard a ND alum talk on Mike Tirico show how Wise is always a jerk to the Notre Dame family and very arrogant because he came from an NFL dynasty. The guy, who I can't remember his name, was a prominent ND alum and said these things and said he hasn't heard any different from any other alums. So apparently Weis isn't making any friends in South Bend either. When I heard the interview I thought immediatley of the situation hear. When he said "these kids don't care about 43 years of beating Navy, they're 17 years old" it showed he doesn't understand their tradition. 43 ND teams went into the Navy game ready to take care of business, this years team didn't. Those "17 year olds" have heard all week how they have failed to keep the streak alive. Sure they care. They probably wonder why their coach doesn't. I predict things won't be much better in South Bend anytime soon.

BC asked to resign, told team today

You've named names! I doubt McNeil would appreciate being paraphrased like that. McNeil is the yellow guy, the green is any member of the D -

It couldn't be anyone from the Ath. Dept. because that would mean they would be making an end run on TO. I doubt TO would put anyone up to it, I can't see TO playing those types of games. It must have been by boosters with checkbooks in hand. If so, BC will be losing money to stay the next three weeks. They would have to have offered more than the buyout, to be taken seriously. Patience is apparantly wearing thin with the $$$ types. -
Please help me out with what this means...

15 is a little old for monkey bars, my fault -
Would you rather have
Captain K replied to Apathy's topic in Rumorville: Hirings / Firings / What Ifs
Wow! Why hasn't anyone thought of a Paul Johnson for coach thread before. We should all be ashamed of ourselves. -

Don't believe everything you hear out on the monkey bars. -
No interest in TO here, but I would have definitely planted my face in GR.

Yes, if Johnson wants to throw his career into the toilet, he will jump on the SMU offer. Relax, none of these guys we are going to look at will take their first offer unless it is their dream job in the first place. Likewise, some of these guys, including Johnson, may tell us to take a hike. We may get the cold shoulder from a lot of guys, just like 4 years ago. Hopefully TO has some salesman in him.

Senior Day on Saturday against Kansas State
Captain K replied to cornhuskers4ever's topic in Husker Football
Yes! And let's not embarrass ourselves with antics voicing our displeasure with the coaches. Anyone looking to be the next head man may notice. Let's look as special as we think we are. -

Deja Vu! -
Probly referring to the slip of the tongue to KETV about the "new coaching staff".........I think it was during the A&M game? Correct me if I'm wrong, I can't remember which embarrassing loss it was during. Supposedly, in the context of the interview, it was a little more appropriate than that. I haven't seen/heard the whole interview but wasn't there a hypothetical component in there? Not really. He was asked about returning the walk-on program to its former level and TO said it would be up to the new coaching staff. That means change unless the four year old staff is new to him. Heck, even new and improved Tide can only be new for 6 months. That and telling a recruit there would be coaching changes are only a small part of it. Not a chance that guy returns next year!
-
Here's hoping you are the "oldman" that got knocked over by the KU fan in Lawrence last week , as stated in the "KU worst fans" thread.
-
Even if the guy could turn it around, we wouldn't know for 10 months if he had. There will be a lot of healing going on in those 10 months if we get a new guy we are excited about. And if he brings in a good DC we would be as well off on defense anyway and offensively we couldn't be worse.

I said, "Excuse me, Coach Osborne, hi." I didn't know which title to use, though I thought, "S'up, T Dog" would have been wildly inappropriate. FYI. Snoop, 'Dre and I ran into TO in LA last year for the USC game and T Dog actually works just as well as coach.
