  2. If you come down via the Alabama Gulf Coast leave me a message at Allbuffs and I will hook you up with some shrimp.
  3. Agreed on one thing, the season just seems too short. Basketball seems to go on forever and yet football for just a few short months....
  4. I work the sidelines for our local high school football games and so I am on the visitor's side with the downmarker. In the 6 seasons I have been doing that gig I have learned that different coaches get treated differently by officials. Those coaches with a long pedigree and a more gentlemanly demeanor get the calls. New or young coaches who behave as if they are getting buttraped after every play do not.
  5. Ya know if it was Hansen and not Danny Jr. running the show for the Buffs I would be a lot more worried. Your line is good, and Stewart fits nicely into their scheme, but having Danny Jr at QB is like having Gary Pinkle as a head coach. Everynow and then you'll get something spectacular, but he'll always fall back to reality and revert to being Wile E Coyote and blow himself up and fail. Senior Day for this group, last Big XII regular season game, last CU game for the very long forseeable future, a trip to the CCG, and with Bo as the coach, I expect total focus and a great outcome. I would argue that I believe we have a better chance in this game with Hawkins, he has already beaten you all once, and without his dad coaching the team he is a better quarterback. I like his senior leadership out there today. Of course I feel bad for Hansen's injury but I honestly believe the quarterback that gives us the best chance today will be the one starting for the Buffs. Anyhow, good luck today, and for all those attending the game enjoy it and be safe.
  6. BB I doubt the team will be concerned about the refs. Us fans, yeah probably, but not the team. Doubt it, the kids have a lot of access to information, they read boards like this, they read articles written on their behalf, you are sticking your head in the sand if you believe that they do not share in some of the sentiment that they are being picked on as you people really believe...their coach had to go in front of the media basically to apologize because even he believes in a conspiracy....
  7. Good thing you're weapon will be shooting blanks. I guess fortunately for me they play the game...
  8. Ya'll are more worried about who will be in black and white over who will be in black and gold, that is our weapon for tomorrow.
  9. How in the world did you lose to Texas at home though? They are horrible, the joke at CU is why of all the years did we not get Texas on the schedule...lol
  10. Two weeks ago I gave us no chance of winning this game, but since then we fired Talkins and you people believe in some whacked out conspiracy, these two events now make me highly optimistic about my chances tomorrow....
  11. Damn that was a hell of a game too: Makes me tear up still... Good to see you on the board BB, Have a good TG and I hope you guys own the PAC 12. T_O_B Good to see you still kicking it around, too bad we will not ever get to drink one together outside of Memorial Stadium, perhaps some other time, say Pasadena? lol Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!! GBR (just for you)
  12. This was another good one I came across: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpwWcwc3oLA

  14. I'm right behind you Nubsker....
  15. That was an illegal forward pitch. Anyone could see that Must have been a conspiracy.....ROFL
  16. Grats to Coach Gill and an impressive win today.
  17. Basically, the FSN guys are huge Texas homers saying everyone misunderstood what happened with Texas and the Pac-10. Said Texas wouldn't go without it's "friends" A&M, Tech and Baylor. Said everyone has to face reality when it comes to why Texas gets its way so much, he said its because they are a huge University and great athletics. Blah, blah, blah I think you get the picture Yep, that's a pretty accurate rundown of the first 30 minutes or so. Call me naive, but considering Nebraska was the first team scheduled on day one, I was expecting some Husker centric coverage, or at least a decent team rundown. Instead they open with interviews with ISU QB Austin Arnaud and former CU Buff Joel Klatt. Thanks FSN, A+ work once again! Ya'll may not have liked what you saw but for anyone to suggest that Klatt is a Texas homer would be a slight stretch. There aren't many former Big 12 players that could have more of a reason to carry a grudge against Texas over Klatt for the hit he took in the Big title game that ended his college career and any chance of a NFL training camp invitation. Like I said you may have reason to be dissapointed with your coverage but Klatt is not a Horn homer. Are we reading the same thread.... Not sure where it says Klatt is a Texas homer? I believe so, Po Belini stated the FSN guys were Texas homers, Husker Bob said that Klatt was one of the FSN guys, so I pointed out that if anyone had reason to hate on Texas, certainly Joel Klatt could have a strong argument. *ball back in your court* Yes, the two FSN guys that started the show were in love with Texas. And all huskerbob said was they had an interview with ISU qb and former Buff qb Klatt. Nowhere did he or I say your former qb is a Texas homer. I didn't even listen to Klatt talk, too busy watching Husker VaTech game, so I wouldn't know if hes a Texas homer or not and frankly I don't really care. Fair enough then, I had assumed the reference was made to Klatt, carry on....

  20. I disagree, Colt looked fairly comfortable before being injured in that game and with him in it, who knows what the outcome would have been. As for the original question as to what the Big 10 must do to overcome the SEC my answer would be to "completely sell out their academics for athletics, specifically football".
  21. Ahh I didn't realize it was a worthless list of who's who to make it big in the NFL but played like sh#t in Memorial list, I stand corrected.
  22. I am going with Eric Bieniemy, 137 yards rushing 4 touchdowns all in the 4th quarter after he had fumbled 4 times previously. He made a great statement about overcomming adversity in some of the crappiest weather I have ever seen in a football game, rain and sleet all day long. Nebraska was ranked #2 in the nation that day as well, so I believe EB makes a strong case as one of the best performances in Lincoln. He may not have been the sexiest player that ever played but he stepped up when it was needed most that day. Hagan by contrast that day ended up with -1 yard in rushing.
  23. Huh? What was the conspiracy? The only school that no one knew what they wanted was Texas, Mizzou made no secret they wanted into the Big 10 as soon as the it became rumored that the Big 10 wanted to expand. Colorado made no secret they wanted into the PAC 10 if they expanded to match the Big 10 so I am not following the conspiracy theory approach.
  24. Thanks BRI, good to hear from you again. If we are fortunate enough to get to the Rose Bowl one day I think it would be awesome if it was indeed against Nebraska, at least for me, just like I know some folks here would love to see an OU/NU bowl matchup or maybe now a NU/UT bowl matchup. We all have our favorites.... Man, you took some heat there Buffs...I didn't even think you said anything that bad . Anyways, I think you guys will be able to hang with most of the Pac-10. I have respect for Hawkins the man (I have heard nothing but good things about he treats people), but coaching-wise he just hasn't had much luck for CU. Hope we meet up in the future...no matter what you guys have always played us tough. BTW the Pac-10 just feels like the right conference for you guys. I am with you about Hawkins as a man, a few things still stand out in my mind that I give him a lot of props for, his Intramural Speech(epic), his ability to clean up Barnett's sh#t, and his threats to the student body about taking the team off the field if there were any problems 2 years ago against you guys in the game where the defenses stayed home...lol but, he still has not shown any consistency and his handling of the quarterback position has been a debacle...
