It's been bantered here for years. Why do you think Solich brought in Joe Dailey? Dailey wasn't an option QB by any means. Of course, he wasn't a drop back passer either. He was brought in to run the spread. We were heading in that direction as Solich brought Cotton in for OC and Dailey in to run it. There are various wrinkles in the spread. I don't favor Mizzou's spread much. However, I wouldn't mind seeing the spread WV ran last year. Then watch a Michigan game. Although it does lose something with slow, confused, white guys running it. Totally. If we can get some Pat Whites, Steve Slatons, Tim Tebows, Percy Harvins, and Noel Devines in here than by all means run that spread offense. However, if it's going to be like Okie State where they fling it toward the sidelines and let people sprint after missed tackles, then phooey I say. Okie State runs that offense very well, but it's not very fun to watch for me. They mix in some runs but it's still kind of ho hum. Run it between the tackles and hit some people in the mouth!!

I don't know if anyone else was watching the Notre Dame/North Carolina game when Jonas Gray muffed a kick off and gave the ball to the Tarheels on the ND 36. The Fighting Irish went on to lose the game.

I HATE watching the spread offense. It's like watching doubles tennis and the ball is flying around, except people that play doubles tennis actually work harder. Give me Alabama's offense any day of the week.

Anybody who's been to an ISU game knows them folks are good people. They certainly don't need to be berated.

I think when they hear "building for the future" or "retooling" most Husker fans think "ZOMG! 10 Wins Y'ALL!" and think that those two losses will be by a combined 7 points and mostly because we got screwed by the officials. I'm sitting here listening to 1620 and I'm amazed at all the morons calling in wanting to change things 5 games into Pelini's first year. Get a hobby or go read a book.

I'm scratching my head over that. He doesn't present himself as an intelligent person. He just sounds like he's reciting talking points that were drilled into his head. He speaks in bullet points and hyperbole. He's a cocky sonofabitch, though, so maybe that's all it takes in business. I'm not sure where you got the idea he's not an intelligent person. He carries a 3.5 in Finance (how he became email friends with Warren Buffet) and will graduate in 4 years. I have no idea if he will have much of a career in the NFL as the jury is obviously still out. However, I have no doubt that whether he goes into business or coaching (or something else) once his playing days are over he will be a great success. Sad for us we will likely never see his likes again. We might get more physically talented QBs (might have one now) but it's doubtful we will ever have the type leader he is or anyone who is as much a master of the offense. Of course that's good news for you guys. To be fair, people that complete 80% or whatever don't come along in COLLEGE FOOTBALL very often, but you got him. Good for you, you'll have better recruiting classes down the line as a result.

To base your feelings for an entire team/fan base over one jackass is almost as stupid as the fan you are talking about. Overall I had a great experiance at the game. Struck up a number of long conversations with Husker fans ranging from 16 to 60 and got along wonderfully in SEC. 38. Enough to where the group my friend (fellow Tiger fan) and I were around were joking back and forth through out the game. Laughing and talking threw much of the game and we recieved handshakes and congrats by a good 30-40 fans as they left our section. But on the walk from Brewsky's to the Staduim for kick off we had two NU jackasses messing with us. One who thought it was funny to talk sh#t about MU and Missouri as a state while making attempts to step on the heels of my shoes as I walked for about 5 blocks straight. He would occasionally make good on the try and give me a "flat tire". He would then laugh the play off an apoligy, only to start right back up. They other who got quite a kick out of slapping us on the back and saying those Tigers are going to be tough. Except he kept slapping us harder and harder. Enough to were I had to threaten to remove his arm from his body for him to stop. Needless to say I have a bruise that is the outline of a hand in the middle of my back. If I acted like you are I would have posted about how NU fans are complete jackasses and how I hate Nebraska now. Go on a little rant about how much they suck and so on. Instead I only hate those two jackass, and if i ran across them again with no cops around, I might use all 6'4, 250 lbs of myself to teach them a leason in manners. Anyway, I had a great time and look forward to returning in two years. Ouch, sorry man. I'm glad you realize we aren't all like that, and obviously neither are you. I hope you're back here in a couple of years with another good team. Enjoy these times, they're a ton of fun while they last. Go beat Oklahoma.
