  2. I don't agree. The Pac-10 was one "yes" from Texas away from becoming a 16-team conference just four months ago. These expansion talks are entirely driven by money, and the money involved in college football is only going to increase. I don't see expansion being done, not by a long shot. Missouri wants to leave the Big 12 and has been very public about it. Texas A&M was adamant that they get paid in full what they have been promised or they're walking - and it doesn't look like they're going to get the money they were promised. If the TV contract that's allegedly going to be renegotiated with FOX next year either isn't renegotiated (it currently runs through 2012) or the proposal is less than expected (and I can't imagine it will be what Beebe thinks it'll be), you're going to have major unrest from every Big 12 school. Suddenly to continue relevance they're going to have to expand - or they're going to have to disband and seek their separate fortunes in other conferences. The Big 10 has already expressed interest in Texas. Heck, EVERY conference wants the money Texas brings. If the Big 12 poaches schools from some other conference (like C-USA or more likely the MWC or MAC), the remaining schools in those conferences will start to look around to replace losses or disband. There are about a dozen scenarios where we can see the dominoes start to fall. Any one of them could be the trigger that leads to Armageddon. Couldn't agree more. There are way too many scenario's that will cause the demise. A&M not getting their money and going to the SEC is a definite possibility unless UT and OU succumb and give up even more - which in turn pushes them to consider the PAC 10 again. I also wouldn't rule out Missouri getting an invite down the road from the Big 10. I know they don't bring what some Big East schools might BUT their location and their outright proclamations to the Big 10 that they would accept certainly can't be overlooked by the Big 10. Honestly I would love this scenario because I would love to continue to see the Huskers pound them Tigers every year!
  3. If congress gets involved I will move out of the country. They need to worry about everything else, not college football. With that being said, I am all for the collapse of the NCAA and the creation of super conferences followed by a playoff.
  4. Exactly - and those local fanbases don't travel anywhere! Even to the "fake-a-rivalry" game between ISU and KSU could only muster up 36,500 fans at Arrowhead. The Big 12-2 will only have one key game - UT vs OU, and sooner or later, UT and OU will realize that losing NU and its consistent bowl game appearances (which pull them in money too) will cost them. Out of this whole thing I just can't understand why OU is so pathetic and sitting at the front of the line when it comes to feeding from UT's teet. They are better then that - or I have lost all respect for them.
  5. How much did the Big 12 say we had to pay originally?
  6. And just saw the other thread that indicates the NU and the Big 12 have settled. I wonder how it compares to the proposed deal Colorado is working on with them.
  7. Looks like it is going to happen. I hope NU fights the Big 12 to the death over the departure fees they say we owe. Link: http://texas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1129216
  8. Agree with this 100%. Idiots don't spout off against teams they don't fear.
  9. +1 - Am a friend of the Husker Hounds owner Scott. Said he has ordered a TON of them, looking to get them in within the next two weeks. I would keep an eye open there as I am sure they will sell quickly.
  10. Buddy told me that we had a 1st place vote last night at dinner, I immediately replied Sarkisian????
  11. Although I would love to have NU vs OU in the Big 12 Championship, I wouldn't pull back from watching NU vs UT in a second game, again with us winning. Beating UT 2 times in a season, our field and then in the Championship game would be the perfect parting gift to the soon to be called "Texas and the teet suckers" conference.
  12. Only thing I can think of here is that they have an offense they want to run and would prefer to bring in someone similar (Green) to the Starter (Martinez). But I do agree, Lee at least could manage the game. He must have really fallen off the chart.
  13. It's not coming back. But thank you for the kudos. My wife came up with the idea, so she appreciates these threads more than anyone I think. I uploaded it to youtube because I knew that people would enjoy playing it back for the next few years. The other reason was because I knew that they wouldn't be using it ever again. RIP, best year of my life. By far the greatest tunnel walk video ever. I was at that game. It still gives me chills when I watch it.
  14. Anyone see that Pederson's first order of business was to re-sign a head coach (Wannstedt), who also had a losing record this year? Extended his contract til 2012. Nice. :asshat
  15. Wow I am surprised that it is so even. I am torn between the two because I think each has their up sides. On the other hand, this is a "who do I think" poll. Right now...since it hasn't been announced yet....I am leaning to Bo.
  16. He's mainly going on hunches....thinking that the only reason there hasn't been an announcement is because of the LSU's game in the SEC Championship. Stilll speculation on Pat Forde's part.
