  1. i'll second that I will third that. And I can't wait will have a few people over to watch on the big screen in HD we finally got it can't wait!!!
  2. I was reading on Sporting News their predictions were the huskers going to the insight bowl, Kansas going to the Sun bowl, OSU going to the Alamo Bowl, Notre Dame to the Gator, Missou In the Holiday Those are predictions that I really have never heard before but that what they think
  3. Hey you can't forget about Mike Grant either then!
  4. Frazier actually had a better(stronger and more accurate) arm than Crouch. If it wasn't for the blood clot, he would have been drafted and could have turned out to be a pretty decent mobile QB. There is no way I will ever agree that Tommie had a better arm then Crouch. He through line drives at the ground for crying out loud!! Berringer was the better passer, at that time, and would have went pro as a QB if that horrible accident wouldn't have happened. Don't get me wrong Tommie was the man for the job in every sense of the word, but he could not pass. I am not saying that Crouch was an excellent passer either though, just very good at what we needed him to do in our offense obviously. If you are asking the best for our type of offense at the time I would have to say Tommie has the edge. If you are asking the most complete QB I would have to say Gill has the edge on Tagge. JMO
  5. Well my coach would have benched me if I tackled helmet to helmet. A good fundamental hit is putting your shoulder pad right into their midsection and driving up and back. If you try to tackle that high, a good runner will duck right under you and leave you in the dust. The key to football is staying lower than your opponent. You never want to play "high" especially when tackling or blocking someone. Uh, no he didn't spear. It was an illegal hit because the NCAA adopted a NFL rule which doesn't allow a defender to collide helmets with a QB. It's a stupid penalty, but it's a penalty none the less. Leading with the head is illegal at all times no matter whether you're running the ball or tackling. However, I believe the helmet to helmet hit is only illegal when tackling a QB unless he's out of the box. I would have to say that I agree with most of what you have said. If he would have hit him lower than there wouldn't have been a question about the hit and no penalty. The only problem is that, IMO he didn't hit him helmet to helmet, but just hit him so hard that he probably has whip lash right now. It was a big time hit, but if his technique would have been better it would have never of been called. He is still a monster though, and playing really well!!
  6. I just got the goose bumps after reading especially the second part of that
  7. Welcome to the board. One piece of advice, watch out for "Cy The Cyclone" as he is handing out what i am certain is acid laced kool-aid after seeing his predictions for ISU next year.
  8. I do not want to in anyway belittle this team we have this year, because thay are acctually playing like one. But I have said all season, that in espeacially the linebackers corp. I wonder how those talented linebackers would have turned out under this staff. There was some real talent there no doubt, it is just to bad for THEM that it was wasted by Cally's staff.
  9. I remember when I went to school there and even a few years ago I bought tickets from a student and they were already validated before the game and unless they changed the rules then you still can and the other party does not have to be present.
  10. Buffet Has donated to the university just not the football program. He said that he would donate, but made it very clear that it would be used only for academic purposes, and was not to be used for any sporting events.
  11. I would agree with pretty much all of the posts here. I don't really know if the whole home field advantage weighs in as much as the fact that we always tend to give up the big play on third down, well not always but you get what I mean. I think that if we play the way we did last week, and they can get a few big plays that we still end up with a bigger margin than that, but they are capable of throwing down field and that could hurt. They want the shoot out IMO. We obviously don't.
  12. You are right. I was at the ISU game and my wife and I were laughing at how much fun it looked like over in their student section. I think that would be the best results, and it should general admision for them in those seats as well. Although at $21 per ticket hell I will sit up there for that call me please I will take them LOL.
  13. You are absolutely right, and if that is the case then he deserved his space on the sideline. I just hope that he learned from it now. I just want to say also that I do realize that O'Hanlon does make some good plays, and deserves some playing time IMO. I also noticed that when Rickey was in he was doing a great job of getting off of his blocks and then not always the one there to make the play, but help create it for someone on the line or one of the LB kwim. But thanks for the responses, I just can't beleive that I don't remember that play, even after I read about it in the OWH. Oh well I guess
  14. What about Kody Spano is he not a contender for the QB position? Just wondering because no one ever really mentions him.
  15. You are right about people need to be respectful for the people behind them. I try to be and yes there are many times throughout the game that I had to sit down. I had two back surgeries in the past two an a half years and I can't stand the whole time either. I would never try starting a fight because someone else wants to, but i would politely ask them if they would sit down for a bit only if the situation was right. I am the same way many people are when they get excited at a game they want to jump and cheer that's fine, but yes we do need to respect the fact that some 80 year people even want to attend the game and that they probably paid their dues and then some.
  16. Oh No can't have that!!! Just kidding, I couldn't resist. I to was diappointed in that and said right awsy as everyone around me was also disappointed that they missed that. I was also in the NW stadium and I think that broke up the whole Husker Power chant was the dumbass starting fights with the people standing and cheering like crazy people. I for one loved it and was not cold at all well maybe for a little while I was, but how could you be cold during a game like that?
  17. On their last scoring drive that is exactly what they did. They picked on West and O'Hanalon all the way down the field. They just cannot get off their blocks and West gives way to big of a cusion.
  18. I totally agree with you. Bo would be the last person to blow smoke up any players a$$. I for one really really hope he stays. Man, he has turned himself into a stud and an absolute work horse in there. I was saying that all season that he looks and plays so much better this year. And yes I also agree with him being intelligent. I like listening to him on his many interviews that he has had.
  19. I was just wondering, and thought maybe someone had some news or have heard why they took him out of the game? He was having a great game and was causeing a lot of problems for the Jayhawks in the first half and then the second half he wasn't out there at all. I don't want another bash session on O'Hanalon but he got burned a lot and could not get off his blocks to make plays.
  20. Umm..I care. Just as a college football fan, if nothing else, I like to see votes that make sense. Even if we aren't ranked or getting votes I still care about the rankings, though obviously not as much. And I wasn't saying Nebraska should be ranked or getting votes. I'm just commenting on a couple teams we beat that are getting votes. It's unlikely Nebraska will jump from 0 votes to ranked, so getting a few votes now would put us in better striking position. A 9-4 Nebraska team should have a good chance of being ranked, but not if we are still behind teams like KU and WMU. Being ranked at any time during the season is nice because it's a helluva lot easier to catch a score and get highlights, since ESPN doesn't care much about teams not in the top 25. Those of you not in the midwest might be surprised at how rarely you hear about Nebraska unless you really dig for it. I hear ya! I saw the same this morning on sporting news and was wondering the same thing WTF is up with that? Not that I think we should get any votes, but if we beat a team soundly and they get votes and we don't crazy. Neither one of us should have though. It would be awesome if we would end up 9-4. I think the respect will come we just have to keep improving every game. Huh I think I have heard that before
  21. I would have to say Havok, that I might have to agree with you on two things. There is no way that they should have moved the students. I thought that was horrible when I heard that they were. I also agreee with the fact that people need to shut their pie holes when others want to stand and shout!! Oh yeah my wife still can't talk LMAO!! I have to say that we sat in a very fun and loud section for once and it was a blast. I was disappointed though whe I looked diagonally accross the field and saw the empty seats though. I try to make a few a year and that was the best this year for us. But can you believe that a fight damn near broke out behind us with a forty-fifty year old man screamingat people for standing and then a chick jumped in his face screaming back and then I would say her boyfriend or husband damn neared beat his a$$, Wish he would have, but we don't need our own fans fighting. Although the Jayhawk fans in the area were loving that.
  22. Actually with HD DVR i can see 3/4 of the field and i routinely pause and rewind to see guys blowing coverage. However an improved line would make our Safeties look much better. Wow well I guess we better fire Carl and hire you as the deffensive coordinator then.
  23. And these comments are exactly what he is talking about. You can't see the whole field when you are watching a game that you can't pause and rewind to see who at fault, and you need to get over yourself if you acctually think that you know more than Bo, and yes he is sticking up for his team what coach wouldn't?
  24. What I don't understand is, when they got the money the economy was unstable. Yeah, they made money I think doubled up if I read right, but Why wouldn't you pull what you need and let the rest invested? And for Christ sakes why would you put all of your eggs in one basket? I know people will argue they made money, and nobody can predict what is going to happen, but how many stories like this do you have to hear before people quit making such foolish decisions. The only people I feel sorry for are the students. They will be the ones suffering.
