  1. If we wouldn't have gave up that damn 67 yard td. Then yes Pelini would have been happy and it may have happened then. I think that if we execute the way we did last week, against Baylor (I know they are not all that good) then I think it is time to hand them out. I think it would help with their confidence for the rest of the tough games coming up. I am not saying Baylor is going to be a cupcake either
  2. I was kind of wondering why they haven't tried that Holt at safety. I know he did a good job considering, at linebacker with the deffensive packages we were playing, but he is built and has the speed I thought of a safety. I like O'Hanlons efforts and at times he does well, but he is just not the one that we need starting at that position, but playing absolutely. The Holt thing just a question.
  3. I am hoping for a good time this weekend. This will be my first and the way it sounds it will be a blast, as long as the alums from ISU that we are going with don't mind the N on our shirts.
  4. I can see the points both ways. I for one during the game was yelling go for two, but could you imagine if they would have tried to go for two and didn't succeed what everyone would have been saying? I think they made the right choice and it almost paid off. I guess that's why I am not coaching and Bo is.
  5. I completely agree that Joe had a great game and we would be even further down without his efforts. The only things that I see with him is he is a senior who threw three of the exact same interceptions in three different games. I hope he cleans that up as well as the dumbass penelties the rest of the team has racked up. I see good things coming yet this season.
  6. According to Ganz he doesn't agree with him and said that "he was not out there playing, we were, and we played horrible." But I do agree that having a coach that takes responsibility makes the players have respect for him and in result will do anything for him.
  7. Yeah I was wondering the same thing, and my wife said that she read on another board that he rolled his ankle had it retaped, but was unable to return. Sure missed him last night.
  8. My wife and I are heading to Ames this year should be fun. We will be tailgating with a bunch of Clones alums. I think that game to will be closer than we would like though.
  9. I think that 8 is a reasonable # of wins it could very easily be less I can see that. I personally like newearthhuskers prediction hopefully in the future that will happen. I really really do not believe that Bo and his staff would let them roll over. I see them improving every week IMO. I really can't wait to see what they do against this awesome big 12 competition. I hope for the best but am prepared for the worst.
  10. I think that Bo will accept nothing less than 110% every down, no matter what the play is. Anything less than that would be unacceptable not only to Bo but the rest of the staff as well. Not to mention Dr. Tom. I do think though that if we are unable to break into the back field with a straight up deffense in the first three games, we will be in for another long season. All in all they will play with all the intensity and emotion that they are being taught in every game no matter what the outcome may be. jmo
  11. I really can't figure out why people don't think that our defense will be improved this year. I know that we can't expect miracles but I didn't expect that in 2003 either. Do people really think that the NU defense won't be any better this year than last? I was thinking that it will be a good game just for that very reason. We will be able hold them to a few less scores (I hope anyway) and we know that our offense is able to score. I think that it will be a really good game.IMO
  12. I read that article a while back, but had to read it again. It gives me goose bumps when I read it. I would say that is the best story of dedication that I have ever heard. I hope it turns out well for him. Could you imagine the publicity he would get if he would end up being a starter? Either way he has my respect. It takes a lot to do what he has done.
  13. I was kind of wondering why there was no talk of him this year. I thought that he needed to have more playing time last year imo. Not to take anything away from Lucky or Helu though they are both good backs. I was saying last year that Castille kind of reminded me of Lawrence Philips, but without the dumbass mistakes I hope. I think that we will have an outstanding backfield this with those three in the mix, and hopefully for the next few years.
  14. I guess the backup backup plan worked and he did get a Nebraska scholarship. Good to hear. Also seems he and his father have been checking out the message boards and saw how we all liked his hitting, just another reminder to watch what you say about these young men because yes they do read them, and even though it's some guy on the internet it does have an affect on them and it isn't always positive like it was this time. I was reading the posts about a decommitt and if he were reconsidering coming back and read those post it would have convinced him NOT to come back! Nuff said! For the most part everyone on this board seem to be pretty good sports about the recruiting process, but yes I agree it is the slim few that always seem to ruin the fun in anything. Like I said though this board is definately better than some of them. Really getting anxious to see these young men play. Should be exciting in the next few years and many more I hope.
  15. Word is that Miami jumped the gun and that he has NOT faxed in his LOI to Miami according to his HS football coach. It would be nice if he changes his mind and becomes N, but if he doesn't he doesn't. Although I don't care who you are that is funny.
  16. Has anyone heard anything about a big surprise that may happen for us today? My wife read it somewhere this a.m. and have not seen anymore on it.
  17. I'm not trying to "start rumors". I was simply pointing out what he was quoted as saying in the Columbia paper. Hard to say what (the quote) really means, but it definitely is worth discussing. As I stated, I have no ill will for this 18 year old kid. He deserves as much success as the next person. That said, I will root my arse off, that he gets knocked on his, when our boys play them. I agree. That's what I thought I read also, that Gabbert was the one that said this in his interview.
  18. Exactly!! And this is why we need the walk-on program. Very well put.
  19. This is very very wrong but really funny at the same time
  20. I agree that swift probably isn't the fastest or the most athletic, but he does have very good hands and runs great routes. You can't only rely on the big play makers either though Swift plays with alot of heart and determination and that got him to where he is now IMO. Niles, Henry, and paul yes I believe that we need them to make the big plays that Purify did for us, but we also always need a backup man also and it seems to me that that is what Swift and Peterson were. Meaning that the only way to get the big plays are to have people like Swift in as a threat for not the catch and run but more for the sure catch, he had very few drops that I can remember.
  21. I would think that Swift would have a pretty good shot at starting this next season, and if not then he will play alot. Hell he was one of the most sure handed receivers that we had the last few years IMO
