  1. Did anyone ask why we passed 31 times when it wasn't working and why we didn't run more when it was working?
  2. Just for grins, a couple of locally famous radio show hosts here in Texas were talking about Nebraska considering Mac Brown. (I kept trying to hear the laughter in the background, but didn't hear any.) Also said Nebraska is not in the South so 16 year old recruits won't want to go play there; therefore, no top coaches would want to work there, either. Guess that's why they suggested Mac Brown.
  3. "It's not the victory but the action. Not the goal, but the game, and in the deed the glory." As Churchill said, "Never give up. Never give up. Never, Never, Never give up!" Thanks for the encouragement.
  4. I don't understand the keep Bo but get a new staff crowd. 1. We already did that once. Same result. 2. Bo admitted he doesn't know how to fix this, so who would he hire? Keep Bo and it's more of the same.
  5. Did anyone notice Cotton's quote? "Anytime you play a talented group like Wisconsin, it's kind of hard to steal the momentum back." That shows that as soon as Wisconsin showed a little success this team captain was already mentally defeated. It showed on the field as our players quit. Our team still doesn't believe in itself and that's a coaching issue. One of those "big picture" items Pelini, head coach, paid huge $$, doesn't pay attention to by his own admission.
  6. Conditioning, strength, and technique. All of these are coaching responsibility and they all reduce injuries. It's a cop out to say other teams suffer injuries like this because overall they don't. not to the extent we do every year. Georgia, Florida and Boomer Sooner, all second this post. Still would like to know what the proper technique is to survive having a 300 lb man roll up into your knee. Co signed, Spencer Long, Jake cotton, Jeremiah Shirles, Mike Moudy Pushing people of the line instead of getting pushed backward into the pile. No one rolls on your leg when they're already on their back or in the defense's backfield

  8. Every year it's the same thing: injuries at key positions are the reason we struggle in games. It's been the same thing every year since Callahan, only this year it's been ratcheted up several notches. Why is Nebraska the only team with a perennial injury problem. Every year it's the same thing: turnovers at key times keep us from winning games. It's been the same thing since Callahan, every year the same thing. Why are we the only team with a perennial turnover problem? Every year it's the same thing: lack of discipline leads us to poor production and killing of momentum. It's been the same thing since Callahan. Why are we the only team with a perennial penalty problem? (At least the team doesn't roll over and die anymore, but it's just not the way we should be.) If this year proves anything it's that we are not progressing.
  9. Just like family. Family always treat each other worse than outsiders.
  10. I just don't understand why Taylor was still in there after throwing three interceptions. Any other team would have gone to the backup quarterback after that. Why didn't we?
  11. Oh no! I need my helping of steamed Block Choi!
  12. Shouldn't we sandbag after we have a comfortable lead?
  13. So instead of a close game where one fewer turnover could have made the difference between a championship or not you would rather just get beat. If I were Watson I would be running away from this fan base. Actually, yes. Getting outplayed by a team that is just hands down better than you is easier to swallow than several close losses where the team trips over itself. This is just dumb. I have to assume anyone that would think this way was either in the band, a cheerleader, or played video games instead of actually playing sports. No way would you want to just be inferior vs needing to make small adjustments to win. Anyone who thinks this way should be Iowa State fans. WTF are you talking about? Why is it so hard for you to understand that blowing a lead and having a team come back on you hurts worse than if you just lost it outright from the beginning and were never in it? You think Alabama fans feel better about the fact that Auburn came back from like 21 points down to beat them at the end? The fact that their fans sat back and thought, "We've got this one in the bag!" only to see it dissolve right before their eyes? I'd rather have a million-dollar prize go to someone else from the get go, rather than be told I won the money, call all my friends to celebrate, only to learn later that a mistake was made and that it must actually go to someone else. Are you even human? I remember November 3, 2007 : Nebraska 39 - Kansas 76 That hurt worse than last night, by far! I NEVER want to be a team that's "not good enough to win." That's not Nebraska.
  14. Here's our record since 2000: 2010 10-3 #17 2009 10-4 #14 2008 9-4 NR 2007 5-7 NR 2006 9-5 NR 2005 8-4 #24 2004 5-6 NR 2003 10-3 #18 2002 7-7 NR 2001 11-2 #7 2000 10-2 #7 We haven't had two 10 win seasons in a row since 2001. We haven't been ranked in the top 25 two years in a row since 2001. Bo, as our head coach, has never won less than 9 games. With our record this year, we have elite status. It's been 9 looong years of humbling, embarrassing, struggle to get back to the top tier of football. What's with all the whining? Sure a Big 12 championship would have been icing on the cake, it would have been perfect to tell the Big 12 to kiss our a.. as we went out the door, but we still have a lot to be proud of. Remember our teams from 2004 to 2007? They QUIT in almost every game. They didn't play injured. They didn't CARE. We should have greeted our players coming back as heroes, not heels. I'd take our players over any other in the country right now. They play for us, and they play with pride. I'm proud of them. These players, OUR players, ALL of them, have lived up to: "Not the victory but the action; Not the goal but the game; In the deed the glory."
  15. I totally disagree. After 4 turnovers, I can't believe the score was only within a field goal. Our defense played with their heart and soul. The wheels came off with that interception and we never got them back on. This loss is on the offense, not the defense--at all. With that number of turnovers the Sooners should have been up on us by more than two touchdowns, but our defense prevailed. There's just too much talent on the Sooner side of the ball to keep giving them chances, I don't care how good our backs are. Eventually they'll get a good play in there given all those chances. I blame the offense as a whole, but I'm still a T-Mart fan. He's a freshman and he's playing with the intensity of a Bo Pelini. He did try to do too much himself and time will tell if that's a Freshman error, or a character flaw, but all the hate directed at him is very unbecoming. I'm not a frequent poster, but Taylor is OUR quarterback and we should be consoling him and encouraging him. You all sound like a bunch of Real Housewives. Worse, really. Sad. We still have one more game to play and then we're in a real conference. We need to build on a very successful year and move forward. We need to be positive and proud of what our team did this year. They struggled, but so did TO before he was a "genius." We had an extremely successful year. Don't forget what it was just a few years ago! And for those of you who don't know better: Welcom to NU vs. OU. So many times it looked like TO had the game wrapped up and OU found a way to come back and beat us. Oh well. We're still a great program. Suck up the loss. We can't change it. We can only move on from here. Let's move on and improve.
