From what I've heard or been told in person, It was brought to my attention that Shawn Watson, Ted Gilmore, and Barney Cotton were the only ones that came back to the state after that big12 title game. All other coaches went out and recruited. Now the last time somthing like that happened with another team (notre dame) their coach was fired. Maybe watson, gilmore, and cotton are being shown the door? Also had heard that cotton came back only for some other reason, but i'll take 2 outta 3 rather than 0, although i really hope cotton gets out too.

I had a guy ask me today who I thought was a better bowl matchup for us in the Holiday Bowl. USC or Oregon. So I answered with USC, based on their style of offense and other things. Nebraska's D can deal with USC's offense, I would fear though that we could get exposed pretty badly against Oregon. So I will leave you with this question. Who do you see as a better matchup? USC or Oregon.

Everyone always says this. I don't know if I believe it. Am I the only one who roots against the other North teams in their bowl games? I want just one other H-board member to admit that they hope other North teams lose. Anybody? I can honestly say that in the past I have always rooted against the majority of the big12 teams. I will only root for Texas, Texas A&M and Okie State in bowl games...unless they are playing Oregon, North Carolina, GaTech or Florida. I like watching those 4 teams be successful. However, if ANY big12 team plays the likes of USC, Notre Dame, Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, or Penn State I will root for the big12 team. It gets pretty complicated for me when it comes to rooting for other conference teams.

the thing is, i've seen the kid play numerous times here in Lincoln, Highest class in the state, and he is NOT DOMINANT at all! We're talking High school football in the state of NEBRASKA. You will find better recruits from just about any other state in the nation. Sure Nebraska will have some gems, but this kid has no chance of being like Crick or Steinkuhler (ty). I get really really tired of people saying, "well, TO did it like this back in the 90's" Well your damn right he did because there wasn't a god damn scholarship limit back then. Nowadays you gotta go out and recruit harder than before just to finish a season 9-3, especially if you are nebraska, basing it off of location of course. I don't know how many times i've said this before but when it comes to recruiting, and lets say i'm being offered by Nebraska, Texas, Florida, USC...etc...Why would a prized recruit come to Nebraska over a warm weather state? granted there is nothing to do in Lincoln anyway till you turn 21, even at that its only bars, WHICH THE PLAYERS ARE RESTRICTED FROM. Its late, i'm tired and cranky, and most of all pissed off because of wasted scholarships given to coaches sons when the coach shouldn't be here in the first place.... It starts up front, the line isn't physical, not disciplined...How can WATSON call a good game when his damn LINE can't block anyone? We make subpar defenses look GREAT!

I don't really know if that should matter because the gunners would be the last guys on the line of scrimmage making them eligible for a reception. I would really like to talk to a coach about this, I coach at the junior high level and I don't see anything wrong with just whipping it out to the gunner if they are uncovered, in my opinion that should be automatic if uncovered, maybe thats why i coach at the JH level rather that Division 1 college ball. eh....

I have a question and i've seen this from multiple teams this year, and I noticed this a couple times again last night in the nebraska game. WHY ON EARTH DOES THE PUNT TEAM LINE UP TO WHAT THE DEFENSE SHOWS?!?!?!?! When our gunners are uncovered because the punt return team brings in their corners to help rush the punt, why don't we just throw it out to the gunners instead of bringing them back in for extra protection? THERE IS NOBODY COVERING THE GUNNER! he's got to be able to get 10-15 yards at minimum. Am i missing something or off base at all? please tell me if you know something that i'm missing here.

Even as good as Kansas State has been playing lately, I still have a hard time believing that they would beat Nebraska, but It is absolutely vital for Nebraska to Finish 3-1 or better because Missouri has the easiest schedule the rest of the way, and they seem to be playing better, although it was Colorado. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it goes. Hopefully we can get to the Alamo Bowl, I think that would be the goal right now.

Baylor's defense was suppose to be one of the conferences best coming into the season.

Here is what is nuts, considering where we are as a team right now Nebraska Defense -- on a national scale Passing Defense - 13th, 171 yards per game Rushing Defense - 10th, 96 yards per game Scoring Defense - 4th, 11 points per game Total Yards Allowed - 9th, 267 yards per game Passing Effeciency Defense - 7th, 96 (????) Nebraska Offense -- on a national scale Passing Offense - Below 50th, less than 230 ypg Rushing Offense - Below 50th, less than 154 ypg Scoring Offense - Below 50th, less than 28 ppg Total Offense - Below 50th, less than 390 ypg I got my stats from sports illustrated. They apparently only keep track of the top 50 in the nation, so I put the stats of the team in 50th in the given category and just said it was less than that. I would be curious as to where we rank as an offense as compared to the entire nation rather than just the top 50. If I were playing for the Defense I would be soooo mad right now at he offense.

I never said that Cody Green was the answer....i've been saying playcalling the entire time....as is evident today that we should have lost that game today in the 2nd half, and they did all this WITHOUT Robert Griffin III

Its really ridiculous how bad the play calling is. I called 3 straight plays before the snap. I SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO DO THAT!

2 STRAIGHT 3 and OUTS! why haven't we gone back to the I-Formation and just run the ball, when we ran out of the I, we ripped off a 25 yard run, haven't been back to it since!!!

If you want a streak that hasn't been broken...hope I don't jinx us, but we have NEVER lost to BAYLOR since the Big12 has been a conference. Baylor is the lone team yet to beat us since the Big12 started, and its Halloween. Crazy could happen today?! ........pry not! :D GBR!!!!

I agree that we need to get back to pounding the rock, If we don't see alot of carries from Robinson, Helu and heck maybe a few from Legate? I seriously would have to question Shawn Watson. I'll wait and see what happens first before I spew my 2 cents

I just watched BRWU from this past week, and let me tell you that Jason Peter is still one of the most if not THEE most passionate person about Nebraska football. After listening to what he has to say it just puts chills down your back because you know the man is serious about what he has to say! In my opinion, once Trev Alberts takes over as AD as Nebraska, I hope to GOD that Trev brings on Jason to be Director of Football Operations, and ousts that nut job Jamrog. I feel that Jason would be great at doing all the public speaking promoting the football program, raising money, recruiting walk-ons etc....its about PASSION at Nebraska, and Jason has that more than alot of guys within the program already, he needs to be brought in, in some capacity. Thats just my take.... Thoughts? GBR!!!!

I'm not buying them now....unless the offense decides to show up 1 of these days. only scored touchdowns in 2 quarters out of 12 against BCS conference teams.....that WILL NOT cut it

I didn't like him in 2003, I didn't like him last year, and I absolutely cannot stand him this year! Our OLine stinks. They play just like barney's last name. Cotton = Soft GET OUT THERE AND RESTORE THE PIPELINE! then everything else will come!

I understand the frustration and initially after the loss I usually think like that too, however....I won't toss it in after 1 game. if the offense continues to struggle against Iowa State and Baylor thats when I'll be getting a little worried! as for now, its time for me to relax and worry about fantasy football tomorrow
