  1. For those of you who are arguing about our PPV options coming up. This means more money for the University. No need to share the pie and we still get dividends off of the overall Big12 take.

  2. "Plus One" means a season with 1 extra game to pit the winners of the 1v4 and 2v3 games for the true Championship. I think we still may end up with non-AQs getting borked in a Plus One system however. Imagine if you have 1-loss teams from strong B10, B12, SEC and Pac12 conferences? Or Florida State running the table, Texas running the table, Ohio State beating Nebraska in the regular season and losing to them in the title game, similar things happening in the SEC. How do you put a non-SQ in over a 1-loss B10 or SEC team?
  3. I'm not worried about the passing game. We can cover both downfield and the intermediate routes. The real worry is going up against the type of attack UW showed in their win over Ohio State. Push them, open up holes and throw a big back right down their throats. We can handle them if they are putting most of their emphasis on the pass and outside runs. The issue is when they dedicate their attack to running between the tackles.
  4. He got beat a few times on what could have been TDs with better throws but it wasn't horrible coverage. A "solid" game, if anything. He's still no Dennard (yet)
  5. I think if Knapplc stopped getting into arguments all the time he'd have about half the post-count.
  6. Burkhead runs nothing like Danny imo
  7. Wisconsin's line averages 320 Lbs and is agile. How will our defense stand up to these power running games that exist nowhere else in the nation? It seems are are built to annihilate teams like Northwestern, Michigan State and other's. The problem is that the Iowas and Wisconsins of the Big Ten will push us all day until they get some points.
  8. We're not talking about the penalty when a texas player was standing over them and pushing one of our players while they were down after a tackle are we?
  9. Let me reiterate, 4 for 14 and 4 for 16. This is what we did to two passing quarterbacks in pass-heavy offenses. We put them in lots of 3rd and Long situations and let them convert some we due to bad tackling. This is bend but don't break football. We shouldn't have allowed as many as we did, but our play by a select few allowed it. We shut down their entire passing game and almost all of their yards came on yards after catch. They were throwing screens and 2-yard gains for the 4 completions I saw. 1 breakdown or it would have been 3 for 14 against Washington. This defense is fine, why are you ragging on it? We'll need to adjust for teams like Wisconsin and perhaps Iowa. Bo knows how to do this and will manage. We are running what we should. Remember what we did to Daniel Thomas?
  10. What a terrible day. Mold removal so I have to take my cat and go sit in the office for 4 hours until I can reenter my house, it smells like a pool, then I get to watch horrible pass-catching by our beloved 'Skers....

  11. Secondary is the tits today. Need to man up and stop the run the run defense looks a bit sissy today. Niles sucks, he needs to stop dropping balls. That and a good forced fumble have this game in Texas favor. Get a pick or two in the next half and we can pull this back to a game if our offense settled down and finishes plays.
  12. I am going to be the happiest lonely person on the planet tonight as I watch us win all by myself since my wife and friends are out of town

I prefer that situation some of the time if the people I'm watching the game with are stupid and/or uninterested and/or fans of some stupid school.

  13. and cheer as the winners go by
  14. Chance of finding someone who raises a longhorn steer like you would an angus so that the marbling is right and the age of the animal is not too high before slaughter is small.
  15. Rocking the Polish beers on tap, probably Warka then going home and celebrating with some Crown Cask 16 if we win.
  16. "No. 5 Nebraska 31, Texas 14: I don't feel great about this pick, but if you remove all the tough-to-assess, intangible aspects of this game, this is what I think happens. Mack Brown-coached teams after a bye week and after playing Oklahoma are scary, but I still expect Taylor Martinez to break at least one or two big runs and gash the defense for plenty of 5- to 8-yard runs. An angry Nebraska team that -- regardless of what they'd like to tell the media this week -- remembers last year's game and what should be a raucous crowd may cancel out some of Texas' urgency for a win and preparation over the past two weeks. "
  17. Just noticed that the bottom of the honeycomb image does not match up with the top so that each time I page down I get a small space where the pattern is interrupted. I'm using Chrome on a widescreen resolution on an HD display.
  18. I think we should move to a solid background instead of this honeycomb. The honeycomb gives me flashbacks to the days of geocities and 4th graders coding their own websites. I like the layout of the board minus the logo and background. I'd like to see the status updates moved so that they load on the front page in view instead of the scores. I get my scores from other locations (ESPN or TV) and use Huskerboard to interact with fellow Huskers.
  19. Anyone else think the honeycomb background makes the board look cheaper? I'm also not a fan of the status updates being below the score tracker. I want to know what you all think, not a rehash of the scores I see on the TV...

  20. "Nebraska didn't leave because it was mad at Texas. It didn't leave solely because of championship game or league office locations. But give Texas this, Nebraska: Had the Big 8 not reached out to Texas & Co. in the mid-1990s after the Southwest Conference disbanded, Nebraska almost surely would not be preparing to become the 12th member of the Big Ten. Whatever that means, it's still probably a fact. " Off of his Conference Overview section I'd say that is a pretty hard thing to argue Mr. Ubben...
  21. Alabama has also played three ranked teams so far though, if I'm not mistaken. Regardless of what happened yesterday, I still think Alabama is the best team in the nation. I think Alabama beats South Carolina 9 out of 10 times, they just got that low percentage shot yesterday. They also beat us in nearly every statistical category other than win-loss. Our pass defense is where we excel by the numbers.
