  1. Wow, totally missed that one. Sorry, I guess I only paid attention to the traditions talk. That one could be, but every one is pissed at Pelini as well. At least that's how I've seen it. Besides, I agree with BC. Oklahoma is a bunch of f'ing' hillbillies.
  2. HANC, I think what is being missed here is that the actual term "double standard" cannot be used unless all aspects of the two comparisons are exactly the same. They are not. I would tell you that if the defense looked as bad in 2003 as it did in '07 and BC came in and didn't hand out Blackshirts, every single one of us would back that decision. I am frustrated that you continually post the same thing, that you aren't comparing coaches, you're comparing situations that DIRECTLY INVOLVE THE COACHES IN QUESTION. You cannot seperate the two. The reactions of people are unpredictable and opinions are formed based upon full grasp of the parameters of the situation. Of course if you had a sheet of paper and wrote down the things that each did, a similar reaction would be shown. Once you educate someone on the situation surrounding the decisions, it is completely different. This argument is asinine because "double standards" don't exist in these examples. If you kill a person, you should be punished, right? Blanket statement. If you have a gun pulled on you in the middle of a war and you kill the person, should you still be punished? Human beings can rationalize, we don't think in concrete terms. If we did, we wouldn't be on the internet talking. We'd be using smoke signals.
  3. not saying this isnt true, but to me the most important factor is that both teams are GOOD. if both teams were undefeated I dont think this conversation would be happening Exactly. I think the formation of the Big XII has hurt the rivalry with its new scheduling format, but it's also important to note that NU killed OU throughout the 90s, even during Big 8 play. This rivalry started to dwindle when OU went into the toilet, and then it was finished off when NU went in the toilet. '01 was probably the only 'good' NU-OU matchup since the 80s, right? '00 and '01 were both good. In '00 we were #1 and they were #3, opposite in '01 because they won the NC. Those two years that game decided who played in the NC game. (Although not directly in '01)
  4. You're kidding me, right? No, absolutely not. He isn't playing in the NFL. He can't make the throws. I don't know how you think he has the arm strength to beat an NFL safety in 2 deep zone on a flag route. No way. Joe Montana didn't have a great arm, but he was above average IN COLLEGE. Ganz isn't even that. You don't have to have Brett Favre's fastball to be great, but you have to have above average arm strength. Too many great QBs this year. Mizzou's backup is a better prospect, and Josh Freeman is a prospect scouts are drooling over. Daniel will get a shot, why wouldn't you give him one. Late rounder though, if its even a draft pick. Cassell backed up Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart at USC. They both won the Heisman trophy that year. For all we know he was the 3rd best QB in the country at that time. That "never started since HS" argument doesn't hold water.
  5. What do you expect when you come onto a site called HUSKERBOARD?
  6. Still think Nebraska is the center of the college football universe, don't you? Why go there on him?
  7. The shoes were on the other feet for years, decades actually. We did hear this sh#t for that long, and we think its funny when Missouri fans come onto a Husker site and act like this. You are Missouri, do you understand that? You have never won anything that means something. NEVER Show me a trophy that signifies your position as one of envy. We do not envy you, we wouldn't trade programs if it meant a guaranteed NC this season. AND THAT IS A FACT Even if it meant we never recover to elite status, I wouldn't trade with you because it would take away 40 years of dominance for 4 years of being a little better than average. This pompus bullsh!t has got to stop from Missouri until they win a championship of some kind. Some of these Tiger fans are just Kansas State fans in Missouri clothing. I was being a sarcastic a**. Taking what was said before my post and twisting it. Sorry you didnt get that BTW, tell me what YOU have ever won. The day you show up with your national championship ring, I will let that crap you talk stand without dishing it back. My bet, you aint won sh*t in your life and all hopped up on Mountain Dew. Oh, and thanks for the history class I actually have won, I was a 2 sport college athlete. Conference Champion in track, albeit it was a 4x100. What the hell that has to do with anything, I don't know. Thanks for the unneccessary personal attack, pal.
  8. Will likely redshirt. If Mendoza was going to be THE guy, he would be getting more snaps than Helu right now. I know, just like typing his name. Its like a drill in keyboarding.....The quick brown fox jumped over the...what was it? Oh screw it.

  10. Because most schools recruiting him were going to use him as a LB. He was rated higher as a LB than running back coming out of HS. Because he looks to hit people with reckless abandon and forgets he's running the ball sometimes therefore fumbling. That what you want from a LB. Speed, intelligence, and agression. However, let's see what Bo and Carl think about it. I am of the opinion that these two are very gifted defensive minds. It is like poetry when this defense executes, albeit rarely. Getting more and more consistent every game. I'm under the impression that we dont have a choice. Excellent point, sir! and let me say I am totally comfortable with that. I am VERY happy with the coaches so far Yes, as am I

  12. LB's average?!...That's giving them way too much credit....the most athletic LB we have is running around committing blatant personal fouls.... joe ganz is average??? I dont think so same goes for lucky Joe Ganz is average. This team is average. But it's the Huskers and they're always, always, fun to watch and follow! Ya, Joe Ganz is average in the Big 12. Which makes him excellent. Do you even watch these games? The team is average right now, but they won't be at the end of this season. They are improving drastically. They will be above average, go to an average bowl against an average team and blow them out. Marlon Lucky is far from average.

  14. Guess you didn't see the BU-NU game a few years back when they let a former NU QB give NU about 4 or 5 mysterious pass interferences that ended up costing BU the game? Refs didn't even bail BU out this game. What are you referencing? The punt that "hit off Bryan's foot"? Because it didn't touch his foot. The spot may have been bad, which I think it was, but the ball didn't touch Bryan's foot. Kick-catch interference? No. He was pushed into the guy by an NU player. I'm neutral. I love Baylor, but I'm going to Nebraska and my roommate is on the team lol. Refs had some questionable calls, but does that not happen in every game? NU: Swift. Baylor: Griffin. How about Todd Peterson getting his jersey pulled on a deep route that he scores on, no call. How about them breaking the huddle with 12 men several times and not getting called. NU: Swift BU: Griffin Griffin showed he doesn't have, yet, the ability or desire to beat you with his arm. He is not very accurate, and he is also not effective if he has pressure and can't escape. He had a great deep throw that was dropped, but other than that nothing beyond 15 yards was even close. Also, when he went DEEP into his back pocked for the one pass, it was a short high pass that should have been intercepted. He should have been picked off 3 times in that game. He is not a passer, but neither was Vince Young when he was young. We'll see but as for right now I think he is a little overrated as a QB. As a receiver he would be electric. Could you imagine him as a returner?
  15. and Santa Claus is REAL and you're avatar is REALly gay! What are they doing, the pecker pound? Don't you usually bump hips or butts on that? Who slams their pelvis into another guys pelvis and leans back like that? Oh, and you are not back, not yet anyway. Looks like they cut the scene out of "Brokeback Mountain 2: Love 'Hawking" Sorry, that's been bothering me for a long time. Kansas Football: Where the Pelvic Victory Thrust is overseen by The Fat Man! Wow. Now my avatar. I am sorry you guys are not goning 9-3. I am sorry that has happened. I am not sure what my avatar has to do with anything. I like the Red unis for KU. I thought they looked a little like the cornhusker ones, and since I feel a kinship, I put them on my avatar. Sorry you don't like it. I sort of do. Also, I am no expert, but I do not think gay people practice their personal intamacy habits by slamming their bodies together front to front, and I will leave my response to that portion of your post at that, I would rather not debate that sort of thing nor do I care much. I was just trying to be funny, didn't mean anything negative about it man. Sorry that it came across that way. However the highlighted part above made me literally laugh out loud. Nice. We do have a kinship, we both hate Missouri. Just wanted to point out that it is kind of a funny move they are pulling.

  17. Perhaps they should buy your kids apparel from the college you graduated from...which, if your spelling, puncuation and sentence structure are any indication, must be The College of Hard KnocksKansas State..... fixed it for you......
  18. The only thing that comes out of Texas is steers and.........
  19. I don't remember him. Nebraska kid? Position? Sorry.......
  20. Eerie how similar this is to OU when Stoops arrived, just saying. Might not be great this year, but I am cautiously optimistic about next year. Don't hammer me, I am not saying NC season. I am saying quick improvement.
