  1. I gotta agree with most all of this. Asante is killing us. Our O-line is weak!! WTF?!! I do think I have moved to the Helu camp as a runner. I still think Lucky will play on Sundays as a 3rd down back but he just doesn't seem to get it going. Our secondary is really bad but I really like our D-line. I can't help but feel that if Cody Glenn had 3 or 4 years as an LB he would be really special. People are gonna get on Bo for the penalty but if I were coach I'd have been up that officials @$$ and then some. Last years team would've folded like a cheap tent. I'm disappointed, but I am proud of the effort and physical play of the defense.
  2. Asante completely missed that block on the punt!! So far we've played pretty bad and we're only donw 12-10 GBR!!! BTW- Georgia in their black unis are taken a serious beating. Maybe that will kill the talk around here for a while!
  3. I think we should have a black uniform. Sorry, all uniform threads must eventually die with the suggestion of a black jersey.
  4. I was just thinking the other night about how sweet it would be to see the SEC and Big 12 in a bracket tourney!
  5. Do you really think that athletes get the same treatment as the rest of us? My in laws are cops and they talk all the time about acquitals where they are very certain that the person was guilty. I guess I'm not sure what your point is here. I guess you have to put me in the group of people that think AC was guilty and got away with it. As far as his being pput back on the team, it is inconsistent with what happened to the D-lineman. TO is a legend but he is human. I'm sure he cares deeply about his players and it could have distorted his judgment. I think the chance to win an NC with Lawrence Phillips did as well. There is a good chance I would have made the same decision but I don't know that I think it was the right one. Ethical and Illegal are different so the whole "We followed blah , blah, blah NCAA code of conduct" stuff doesn't do much for me. This is the kind of stuff we love to condemn other programs (like Colorado) for.
  6. ????? Did you see Daniel's numbers? Final score 42-21. When you can fumble 3 times and still kill your opponent you are a pretty good team. Maybe you're right. If we win that game I'll come on here and tell all the MU haters that I was wrong and never should've doubted the corn. I hope you're right. At this point I just hope we stay close........ Have you watched them play? or any top ranked teams for that matter? There is a speed, and physicality that makes it look like a completely different game than we've played thus far.
  7. 'Fraid not, or at least as of 3:32 AM... LINK But that is the same poll coming into the weekend isn't it? That isn't the new one.
  8. They broadcast this kids highschool game on TV here last night and he: 1. Made a nice pass breakup 2. Got burned on 2 others. Luckily the QB over threw the reciever. 3. Missed tackles on 2 huge run plays (on one play, he did come back to make the tackle 30 yeards later) 4. Absolutley laid the wood on some poor running back. He seems to be the guy that really wants to smash someone and over-pursues/ lets his reciever run right by him. I think he is Dave Logan's son (former CU Buff/ Cleveland Brown) or at least I think. Dave is the head coach of his team and is one of the best HS football coaches in Colorado. They were playing against QB Nathan Scheelhasse. That kid is gonna be good- fast, athletic. I haven't watched a high school game since I was in high school but bc/ of Husker board, I actually knew some of the players on the field and it added interest to watching the game. Thanks Husker board!!
  9. This is a discussion forum and we can discuss anything we want. The idea that we need to censor these things bc/ recruits might read them is weak. I'm sure some do read them. So should we not make comments like "I'd rather have Oku than Wegher" or" I don't really buy his 40 time" Nope, we should say whatever we want. The kid could worship Satan for all I care. Might make for a more intersting pre-game feature. For those of you that are concerned: Dear Mr. Heimuli, Just in case you are reading this, there are some people in this state (in every state) that may think your religion of choice is a cult. That being said, I am sure they will cheer their a$$es off for you on Saturdays. Cornhusker football is actually our state religion. Sincerely, Someone that should not matter in your college decision.
  10. That's pretty ignorant. Just because one faith isn't the same as the other doesn't make them a cult. I'm Lutheran and don't believe many things that catholics believe, yet I wasn't raised to think that every catholic is a cult member. Anyway, let the kid keep his religion between himself and the coaches. It's none of our business. -Back to Topic Even if he takes his mission, he would be a great land. I didn't say I still believed it, just what we were taught. If he is as religious as some think than I am sure he is pretty secure in his beliefs regardless of what others think. Asking for MOD removal is a little over the top. Go back thru some of the longer posts, lots of non-recruiting talk. The idea that we have anything to do with the recruiting process seems a little grand to me.
  11. I was brought up in a born again Christian home and we viewed the Mormons as a cult.
  12. I'm pretty sure I say an NU-WYO game in Lincoln sometime in the 80's. It was cold as a mother f###### that day. Did I hallucinate this?
  13. So how much kool-aid are we drinking here? I'm trying to put up a poll for the first time. If this doesn't work forgive me.
  14. Its odd to me that some people are concerned WYO will weaken our non-conference schedule. We've got 3 decades of tradition that includes cupcake openers. Adding USC was a bold step on SP and BC's part and it helped seal (seel?- why doesn't that look right) their fates. WYO at least makes sense because they are a neighbor state and it would be good for college football fanbases in the region.
  15. This rumor came up a few months ago and I thought it was dead...... I live in Denver and it is estimated that there are 25,000 husker fans in the Colorado Front Range, not to mention Western Neb. Former Huskers were doing autograph signings in the Westminster Mall last Saturday. The support is here!! I think this is the best idea in the world!! I do have to claim some bias bc/ i live here but all the same. What other CO Huskers have said here is true. This game would be a huge success. Also, as for Buff fan. There really just aren't that many of them. They need us to sell out their stadium when we play. Because I do see many of their fans as hostile and uneducated when it comes to college football, I'd love to be able to say "You are so bad at supporting your team that we can play home games in your state!!" I honestly believe that NU- Wyo would outsell CU-CSU at Invesco.
  16. I have been DVR-ing the show and I watched it last night. Yeah, that is some poor TV. Its seems like a conversation at a funeral between 2 manic depressive low talker. Highlights are always cool though. Rose was a knob. My favorite " and he's tackled at the 25, falls forward to the 17, ball spotted at the 21."
  17. If he favors Missouri then having him visit on the week end that they hang 50 on us probably isn't that good of an idea.
  18. Yeah, that game will hurt a little but...... I do think we can be 4-0 going into it.
  19. Bo himself said it was the coaches fault in his post game... That in itself is better than last year and makes you think it might get addressed.
  20. Although it is only game 2, when the Cotton hire was announced I kind of scratched my head. I would have liked some new unheard of maniac like the rest of the staff.
  21. The beauty of web boards- 40 different couches and we saw 40 different games! Not a stellar game but Husker Trucker your grading seems a little harsh. Special Teams C? um....momentum changing touchdown? Although the first 1/2 was bad THE DEFENSE WON THIS GAME!! I don't think they deserve Balckshirts yet but I think they might have turned a corner in the 2nd half. Already have almost as many sacks as last year and the turnover numbers are improving as well. I don't think Bo and the coaches got "in the def' shorts" because I think they might be a little fragile after last year. Whatever they did at half time worked for the D. The staff did a great job in the locker room. The penalties were baffling but I bet this gets fixed. The offense sucked byut they'll rebound. The coaches might need to tear into the O line alittle. They are being giant wussies right now. I'm still not sure how I feel about robskers talent assesment. I do know that watching Miami and Florida didn't even look like the same sport (Neither did Mizzou- Illinois last week). I'm sure we've got a long ways to go but this is still a 6-8 win team. Isn't that what most of us thought? The great thing is that they can and will get much better. I didn't see that at any point last year. My prediction: Next week we rebound and look great and the wrist slitting depression from some will be back to kool-aid drinking hell yeahs!! And we'll still be a 6-8 win team.
  22. If their kicker wasn't drunk they'd have been ahead 16-14 for quite a while. During the first half I kept thinking about how many points Mizzou is gonna hang on us. The penalties were disturbing but I think they will get corrected. What is wrong with the O-line? Asante is really bad right now! In the 2nd half I thought the D turned a corner. The coaches called a great game and put players in the position to make plays. I think this team would have folded last year and they didn't. They toughed it out and scored 21 4th quarter points. They went through a tough stretch and wlaked out the other side. I really think this game may go further to make this team better than blowing San Jose out. Niles Paul is impressive. Suh is playing like a leader.
  23. Someone in another thread said Oku won't qualify. Anyone know anthing about this?
  24. Wow Father of the Year, thats what I call compassion!! Awesome! Why would she make this up? What does she get out of this. Well lets see: Public humiliation Grilled by a defense attorney Unable to go most places she used to go. Lots and lots of therapy. Damn with that impressive list of prizes I'm sure she made it up. Lets let him back on the team!! We could really use another lineman!! I knew once I saw the not guilty that a bunch of necks would be asking for him to be put back on the team. Remember no one was even charged in the sex abuse scandal at CU but people on this board have used it as ammo multiple times. I'm sure nothing really happened. Just like this.
