  1. TO said himself he was not interfering with the program, and that he would offer Callahan some advice if Callahan asked him for it but otherwise he was just an observer who just happened to have the power to decide the head coach's fate. The 2006 Defense had a "Good" DL(Big & Strong, not quick), when they played teams that were predominately 2 back, 1 TE sets they played well, i.e., OK, Auburn, Texas, even SC, teams that spread them out they looked ordinarly, i.e Okie St. In 2007 the whole DL had to be replaced, you then saw how "underdeveloped" all of the ypung players were, Suh, Turner, Stein, etc, they got torched and lost all confidence. Let's not forget the importance of a new S&C mindset as well. I'm not willing to lay all of that blame at Kennedy's feet, either. None of us knows if he was directed by Calli to engage in the bizarre SC training that took place under Kennedy's tenure. In any event, Dobson is working miracles. Remember all the abdominal strains and issues the team used to have when Calli was here? Haven't heard of any since then.
  2. You can attend, but only if we get the pick the saw blade.
  3. Posted by HJ Close to a personal attack / name calling. Please take it easy. Please don't get bent out of shape just a friendly reminder that even if you didn't intend for it to be that way, it could be conceived as the above. Dude... come on.. How is that a personal attack? she's saying how she pictures his view of our recruiting situation.. If I say that the team looked like chickens with their heads cut off is that a personal attack at the team? No. It's stating how they played.. In no way an attack. There's a lot more questionable stuff out there.. Including by myself.... Just take a visit into the baseball section.... I would visit the baseball section, if there was something to talk about. Your signature says it all, very disappointing. That wouldn't be a pesonal attack now, would it? tim, how is that a personal attack? I am merely commenting that the NU Baseball team has been horrid this year. In huskerswrkhavoc's signature he lists the current record of the NU Baseball team, 19-23-1, hence my comment that his "signature says it all, very disappointing." Some of this "personal attack" stuff is just getting stupid. Cy, get in here and lighten things up.
  4. Pelini's decision to roll the dice and redshirt all those players last year is going to begin paying dividends this year.......I look for very good things this year, but in 2010 the rest of the country had better watch out.
  5. The king has returned now we just need cy and killer to be in this thread and it'd be made of win! Good un'.
  6. How many virtual recruits will CU have? (Sorry BeachBuff, you're a good guy, but I must make japes at the whole virtual attendance thing.)
  7. Well to answer your question 5 years ago the 8-4 tigers whooped the 9-3 huskers to the tune of 41-24. smartazz BTW. I love some of you guys and the constant 'redneck, marry your sister' jokes. GOOD GOD man have you not looked around the state of Nebraska lately. Ever left Omaha? look around Lincoln sometime. You better never travel to western Nebraska. This is the face of your program and your big head line entertainment Try not to get run over by the brother/sister married couple in their jacked up dooly pick-up with plastic bulls testicles hangin off the hitch on the way to your classy nebraska game... Anyway, if you are going to Tigerboard for info or sports talk you are wasting your time. That place is a scrap heep of crap from about 6 different schools who constantly try and bait eachother. its like retards fighting eachother. (sorry if that offended anyone) Truth is both teams have alot to prove as far as new players. MU was getting good way before the players that have left were even at MU. So IMO until I see the new crop and how they play I wont doubt them. And there is no proof supporting MU will fall off the map, just like there is none that they will win the North again. Good news. You get a fix on Saturday then what...only like 4 more months till football Fro, I don't go out of my way to bang on other fan bases, and you're a good egg. What pissed me off about the Scout (not Tigerboard) poster whose nonsense started this thread, is that he flat-out lied. So please consider my *ahem* "poisoned darts" concerning Missouri to be directed to him and his gap-toothed mouth breathing knuckle dragging ilk, not you. (I've always wanted to use "ilk" in a sentence.)
  8. pregnant mother + shrooms = huskerh8ter
  9. Gotta say that my favorite B-12 QB (outside of NU's) is Todd Reesing. The kid exudes moxie and does so without being arrogant.....something the consumer of nose fruit from Porn Shop U. never figured out.
  10. If you mean the Spring game, I would want 35-31. Would mean the offense, which is normally a little behind the defense in the Spring, is ahead of the game. Of course, that could bring up questions about the D, but with this defensive staff I have confidence in the odds of the D fixing any problems. After all, who would want Bo's face three inches from yours after a blown assignment?
  11. Thanks for the link. What surprised me was the comment that Collins Okafor was the fastest RB out of Austin Jones, Lester Ward and Collins. I had the impression that Okafor was kind of a big bruiser type. The other surprise was that Holt was perceived as under-performing this spring.
  12. I don't think so. It seems, from the outside looking in, that it's not a case of scholarship players under-performing as much as walk-ons exceeding expectations. Gotta love the fire this builds under everyone. I still remember that greasy feeling in Spring ball 07 when Calli was telling us how tight the competition was between Sam (whom I have no beef with) and Joey. I was never sure that the the QB spot was really up for grabs. With this staff, it is perfectly clear that the best players will see the field and everyone is hearing footsteps (see Phillip Dillard and Adi). Like I said, this is a good thing, not something to be concerned about.
  13. The only two favorite schools not on the left coast is NU and sCUm. Wonder why us and them?
  14. Way to be on top of it, this was news a week ago. Thanks, Chad. Always a pleasure dealing with you.
  15. The NCAA is going to merge its investigation of Reggie Bush and O.J. Mayo into one involving possible systemic violations of the football program. We'll see. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/news/story?id=4055102
  16. Do that again and I'll take the goat away.
  17. This brings up the old argument.......will we say a class is underwhelming because we don't like the star count, or do we take Bo's word that he cares less about the stars and more about the athlete? Myself, I think Bo should get the benefit of the doubt. If you're the guy in charge, you get the glory AND you take the blame. To avoid confusion, I don't put a lot into star ratings. I'm happy with signing nothing but 3 star players as long as we are contending for championships with them. Stars don't really matter to me, I just want to see brute competition. Yep

  19. This is cheezy, but I'd like to take him just to irritate MU fans ('cept Fro).
  20. Impressive schollie list, but how can you be 6'3" 220 lbs and max bench only 225? By itself that doesn't mean everything, but it does bring up concerns of core strength. He must have long arms. Come on man, he's a freakin QB, not a LB. I got that, but my point is that with his stature, he should be able to bench more than 225. It goes back to core strength. If you want an example, look at any runner in a fb game (RB, QB, etc.).....if they go down with an arm tackle, poor core strength is one of the culprits. I'm not saying he should be able to hoist 300 lbs, but if 225 is the best he can do at his age, he better hope for a defense like NU's 07 defense cuz anything else will put him down.
