  1. Does anyone know if Stai is still coaching with the o-line or not? Is he going to be made permanent or are they even having two coaches for the o-line?
  2. What you said doesn't make sense i'm afraid. Don't give credit to coaches for improvement over the past two years? Why not? Makes perfect sense. I'm just not speliing it out in a two page essay because people on here arent dumb. Are you related to Barney? Cuz you are trying awfully hard to stand up for him!? I'm not saying Barney is a bad coach... nowhere did i say that! Yes i am being hard on Barney, but that's because I have given of myself to this program for years and I love the Huskers and always will, and to watch, what i think is the most important part of the offense slip the way it has since even Callahan, upsets me and for that i won't ever apologize! Sorry, the Huskers are bigger than one man, no matter who it is! Even Osborne as great as he is and a true Hero of mine! Point is Garrison and Stai cant fix what needs to be overnight but there has been improvement the last 2 years! I'm not saying everything is bad across the board but we've gone from attrocious on the o-line to just average on the o-line. To me average sucks! Development under Barney and/or the others isn't good! As far as i'm concerned the jury is still out on Garrison as well... although he must be better than Barney or Barney would still be the o-line coach! Look at Rodriquez for instance. The kid was a star rated player coming out of high school and was here before Garrison arrived but what has he become and how has he developed? Not the best I'm afraid to say! I'm not trying to gang up on Barney! Like i said, I think he is a great guy who is a loyal Husker through and through and I'm sure there is someplace for him within the program, but O-line isnt it and whatever you say polar, i think the recent move proves that out pretty clear! Are you saying Pelini is moving a great 0-line coach to a different position when he shouldn't? Because for you to back up all your statements, that is what you have to say! If he was so great then why is he being moved! Pelini's loyalty to his coaches is the only thing that has kept him where he is this long, so i think your arguement is very thin! I'm done posting here... my intent isn't to hurt anyones feelings and apparently I am doing so and for that I apologize, but apologize for stating my opinion, i will not do!
  3. This story epitomizes the worth of in-state talent and the needing to be more recruited! Like Jay Foreman and I agreed upon not long ago during a conversation... I'd rather have a 3 star in state player over a 4 star out of state player in the same position. You can't replace heart and in state kids have that heart and desire to play for the Huskers that MOST out of state players do not possess! I'm not saying out of state players have no heart either, i'm just saying when you grow up a Husker fan and play football in state, there is just intangible that comes with that! Having said that, I also believe it is vital to go out of state, especially for the skill positions, and get the best players available. But you need to take care of recruiting home kids first and I think Bo knows this and we are seeing a heavier recruitment of in state talent. Not to mention, the number of in state talent across the state has been on the rise lately, but I do think many players over the past many years have been underrated. There have been all kinds of in state talent that's gone elsewhere because they weren't recruited by the Huskers and be starters on other teams and outright stars for other teams. I think Sayles is an example of one for this year!
  4. He'll just have to send the cop he punched a gift basket every anniversary of the alleged "right cross" for the next 10 years.
  5. You need to read my statement Polar... I made sure to mention that improvement was ONLY evident after Garrison and Stai came aboard to help coach! That wasn't coincidence the last 2 years have seen an improvement over the first 3 yrs when it was only Barney! That makes pretty clear sense to me? Please don't take people out of context!
  6. My favorite play or moment i suppose is the Kenny Bell hit on the wisconsin LB during the conference championship! That was textbook and he got unfairly punished for it and that ref should be demoted to pee wee league reffing! That being said... the best ever Husker moment was when Christian Peter grabbed what he thought was a fumble in the National Championship game and ran it back 85 yards for what he thought was a TD and the dance he did at the 5 yd line going into the endzone when he was all wore out.... LMFAO!! That guy cracks me up to this day! 96 Fiesta Bowl. Here is the Christian Peter link.... go to 10:06 min in the video! lmao! To do that, on the national stage, as a D lineman in a National Championship Game, took some balls! Man this guy lifts my spirits!
  7. I just hope he doesn't ruin other positions! I mean duh... common sense says, they placed him in the best position they thought he could do and if he couldn't do OL coach effectively, then what the hell is he going to do to the TE's? I like Barney! I believe he is a loyal Husker guy, there is simply something missing in how he coaches and it being absorbed by the players? I obviously don't know what it is, but discipline problems being consistent translates into something not getting coached or absorbed by the players that transfers to game day? Baffling but true!
  8. I dont care if I or anyone else "Really Knows" if Barney is a good coach or not! That facts are, our O-line's the past 5 years have flat out sucked! Lack of discipline alone is enough to get rid of him! It's atrocious! And I dont make excuses for other position coaches at all! The fact is no other position coach has produced big turds on the field in production like our o-line coach has! Only after Garrison and Stai has improvement been noticable! Anyone denying this is a flat out liar or they have their heads in the sand like one person on this board!
  9. Ameer scares me because he is prone to fumble the ball! He isn't Taylor Martinez bad grant you, but Ameer is still one of only 8 D-1 players who have 6 or more fumbles on the year! With us having 2 out those 8, we better clean up the turnovers or we will never lose less than 4 in a year!
  10. I guess the in home visits scheduled later in the week between our coaches and McWilson have been canceled? UGH! WTF is the matter? When a program like Nebraska, loses out on a long time commit, to a football nobody like Kentucky who will never be anything in it's conference, something is wrong behind the scenes! Something we as fans aren't seeing! There is no other explaination. I dont buy this crap about being closer to home, or even that Marrow, who isn't even the kids position coach at Kentucky, was the leading factor in his change! No, either our recruiting tactics are completely wrong during certain situations, like not wanting to pressure hard these young kids to commit. Nebraska, does pride itself on being a low pressure recruiter, and by being that, expect our commits to stay just that... committed! But, it's more and more cut-throat out there and we MUST change up something, whatever it is! Because any half ass educated person can see that there are literally no positive points that can be made in favor of Kentucky over Nebraska, but yet we lose out! 2nd kid Marrow has costs us now! Hey McWilson... Marrow told Courtney Love to stay committed to Nebraska when the issue of Marrow leaving came to light. You think he did that for no reason? Of course not! He told Love that because he knows Nebraska is by far the best place for him to be if he wants to make it to the next level!
  11. empty seats or not arent what determines a sell out people! Geez.. if someone has purchased a ticket but doesnt go to the game and thus there is an empty seat, it still counts because the ticket was officially purchased. You know the key word in sell-out is SELL? Meaning the purchase of! Once it's purchased it counts towards the sell-out. lol!
  12. What!? Notre Dame is 2nd? So you are telling me that back in 2000 when we went to South Bend with Crouch as QB and Nebraska fans filled up half if not more than half of their stadium, by doing so, we actually kept their sellout streak alive? OMG! Think about that? How Ironic!
  13. It's not very smart to have a GA like Marrow, who isn't even a full-time staff member with no real job guarantee year to year, out recruiting as a lead recruiter for any player, let alone some of our bigger catches! I don't know who thought such a move would be a good thing or even an ok thing that couldn't have any unforseen consequences, but it's probably the biggest recruiting blunder scheme wise Nebraska has made this year! No GA should be developing the primary relationship for the University with a recruit, knowing the GA position has the most probable chance of being vacated at the end of the season!? Major bone-headed decision the staff/Bo has made I think!
  14. I'd like to know who is 2nd in home sell-out streaks for home football games? Also, 3rd, 4th, and 5th even.... Anyone know? I googled it, and came up short finding anything but stopped about 6 pages into the search, figuring the answers could only get worse not better? lol!
  15. Thes poll people are obviously Incompetent. Tom Osborne has even said that the only fan base he can think of who comes close to Nebraska's, who's fans plan vacations around bowl games and away games, sell out every home game, etc., is Alabama, who isn't even mentioned!? He said this on the Jim Rome show back in the late 90's after he retired from coaching and I know things haven't changed since then with them winning NC like they have?
  16. yeah, it's all bogus! Yes, there are official rules, but at times like right now when the process is hot and heavy, are you going to tell me that a fan, not representing the program on an official basis, could cost a program some sort of violation? Technically yes! Reality NO!
  17. Nobody can run the option like Frazier did... not even Turner! Tommy was running the option when he was 7 years old... so he knows an option QB when he see's one and a QB who isn't meant for the option when he sees one.
  18. dont complain then when we dont get recruits we need
  19. His facebook page is still all about Nebraska. He even has NU as the school he is studying at!? Maybe fans need to show him love a drop a NICE message off to him, letting him know we want him here?
  20. You are missing the point Chamberlain is pointing out. Yes all teams are on TV more these days... that is common knowledge. What he is pointing out is under Osborne, BEFORE every team was on TV all the time, Nebraska WAS on TV alot, compared to other teams in the country. Huskers were one of the most televised teams in the country under Osborne, and that served us well in recruiting! Kids wanted to play for us because it meant tv exposure for them, they wouldn't get with other teams! Now, since tv's relationship with the college football game has changed so much, we lost that recruiting edge we enjoyed under osborne!
  21. I also think Pelini's practice regime, isn't as tough as it should be sometimes! I think he goes soft on the players in practice at the wrong times! We kept hearing about Georgia's workouts down in Orlando, on the asphalt, where SC practiced last year and how they were working their asses off working out on top of practicing plays and installing their game plan for the game. I know Nebraska practiced hard but whenever Pelini was asked about practice, it is the same old default response, I think our guys had a good week of practice and the tempo was good... they'll be ready! Well, in the second half our D slowed way down and wasn't nearly as intense as the first half, and we supposedly pride ourselves on wearing down other teams. Georgia's D was tired at end of first half, then came out and dominated the second! Our D didn't, and progressively got worse!
  22. I read this article as well and commented on OWH site about it. You are correct, it is spot on from start to finish! How Pelini doesn't realize this is beyond me? And if he does realize this to be the case and hasn't addressed it, then he isn't doing is job!
