  1. If not just for wins but also recruiting, I would want games w/ teams from hotbeds for talent. 1. Any Florida school 2. Any California school 3. Any Louisiana school Next, I would try to setup a series with a BCS conference school if #1-3 was not.... 1. SEC school 2. PAC-10 school 3. Big 10 school etc.,etc.
  2. Chase Daniel would have a better chance, and I don't think he will even be drafted. They're both too short. You don't think chase daniel will be drafted? I'm pretty sure you're wrong on that one stud. agree, he will definitely be drafted... maybe you're right. But numerous scouts have been to Columbia and few think he can overcome his height, although there was some AFC scout there today who said his quick release might even out his vertically challenged status. He's closer to 5'10 than the reported 6'0" eh, Theismann and Flutie gave all short guys hope.
  3. Ouch, man. Why'd you have to go and bring my beloved, albeit horrific Chiefs into the conversation.
  4. My apologies then, a friend of mine just sent it to me and i had never seen it before.
  5. ZKAbA5AUgtY Sorry, if this has been posted before.
  6. supposedly, it works like this... http://www.lubbockonline.com/news/102596/big12.htm Edit: Not sure if that has changed since the Big 12 was founded though
  7. Sure, why not move Asante up and have him spy on DeMarco Murray all game. Makes sense to me but im not a coach either....so
  8. Their defense has been giving up alot of points here lately and the starting MLB Reynolds is gone for the season with no dependable backup. AFAIK he was the captain of the D and they have looked a little lost at times w/o him in there.
  9. I'll place it up there w/ the Michigan State game. Not sure many people picked us to win that one under all the changes and turmoil that were going on.
  10. I live in Okie land and wear my NU stuff all over this state. You will get some ribbing and every fan base has their morons but OU fans typically are decent. They are knowledgeable and most of the time respectful. They respect NU and the rivalry and generally want to see NU rise to the top of the north again, so that we can play every year...they miss the game as much as we do. If you're sitting in the student section, of course, it will get a little rowdier but should be ok. Hope you have a good time down here...btw, they are still working on the stadium here, I believe, hopefully they have made it a little nicer since i wasn't impressed w/ it at all about 4 yrs. ago.
  11. I don't think this team is at a point where it can afford to overlook anyone yet. But with that said, I think we will win. Here's to another week of improvement and consistency.
  12. Cover 2. Murillo was supposed to have safety help over the top, but the safety (I'm thinking Asante) bit on the inside route and left Murillo all alone. I thought Murillo did a damm nice job on Crabtree. On three of the catches I remember, Murillo didn't have coverage responsibilities. The TD catch on the out route was on Asante. The screen that he housed was just poor defense by everyone. The deep pass was on the safety. Crabtree ended up with 5 for 89 and 42 of those yards came off the long pass play. Pretty nice job covering the best WR in the country, IMO. Whoa, wait a minute....is this the same board last week that was saying things like it is going to be ugly. 37-31 for an OT game...i thought the defense played out of its minds compared to what we have seen thus far. True, there were some mental errors again, but the scoring line on Crabtree was not that impressive. The long pass play was a blitz that didn't get to Harrell and subsequently left us wide open in the middle of the field. Asante had over the top coverage on the 4th down play but got pulled in by the play call, mind you...no excuse but Murillo did a pretty decent job on MC. We were also w/o Glenn and Dillard playing a walk-on Freshman at LB...this was growth and coming together albeit still a ways to go. The "D" deserves some big time credit going against that offense. Just my $0.02
  13. This is a very good statement...as a person living in Okieland. This is the exact thing Stoops did when he got to OU. He was given Blake's players and after the first year started moving them around to different positions. Of course, he brought in a QB to run Leach's system and what do you know...he won a NC! Not that we can duplicate this same scenario but evaluation is just one of the parts of being a head coach. I will be interested to see if players are asked to move around after the season.
  14. First, I don't put a lot of stock in recruiting sites....as apparent of our current list of "athletes". On the other hand, a RB recruit might look at this as his way of coming in and being "that guy" since there evidently isn't one go-to-guy. If we decide on an identity, then recruit the players that fit it...not what the recruiting sites say. TO never paid much attention to them and Bo has already said that he doesn't.
  15. As has been stated by the entire coaching staff, this is a work in progress. Evaluations are being performed on every play. The team can perform any and all things great in practice time after time, but during the game, when its all on the line....it is the mental errors and breakdowns that keep killing us. Each play there is any number of errors being made. Can these guys not perform on the big stage? I don't know. Maybe not. But, as has been stated many times, these guys were left on their own for the BC regime and not coached...its like Pavlov's dogs....you beat the same message and teaching into them over and over again....they will finally get it. Patience.
  16. You are also correct. We are very un-disciplined! It appears that they keep reverting back to mistakes and mental errors that were made last year. But, they are not giving up....but what i am seeing is when the game starts to get out of hand, it seems that some of the players revert back to previous mental mistakes. Most of the personal foul penalties that i have seen, at least the last two games of which are the only ones shown here behind enemy lines, have been done by players that were starters last year. Not making excuses for Potter and/or Suh but these guys also did stuff like this last year and before.
  17. You got this right! Not even being a Raiders fan, i remember what he did to them....i mean look at them still! He took a good Gruden team and got his butt handed to him by his old boss and then subsequently ripped the team into a joke. It will take Pelini and his staff more than just this year to repair the damage done.
  18. KSU and Baylor are our only winnable games left. Bo better clean house over the winter and get these loser players out of here. This seems to be a little harsh, don't ya think? These are young men (18-22) who were not coached for the last 4 years. Should the O-line be better than it is, yes. The D-line, quite thin if you ask me. LB's....this one doesn't even require a response. Basically, until our offense can control the clock and the ball and allow our very thin defense to recover; we have very little hope in being able to hang w/ many teams. Most of the time, our defense has their hands on their hips by early in the 2nd and 4th quarters. Just my 2 cents.
  19. I agree. Isn't it the job of any coach to expect the very best from his team? If I'm wrong here, then i need to stop watching NFL films from Lombardi!
