  1. It does feel different, and we do seem to have more competence in the admin now, but I still need to be shown that, while their intentions are good, their decisions need to bear fruit. (Frost or not, it has to be a home run). We just wanted competent coach then - and missed royally. Thankfully that guy isnt around to make any more bad descions. Can't run that jerk out of town fast enough.
  2. Sounds a little like the last coaching hire - no one at all was talking about Riley as a replacement. Only hope that all this smoke/rumors isn't just a smoke screen and we end up with another out of left field hire that no one is talking about. Please, for the love of all that is holy, don't be the case. And, while several posters are 200% confident there will be a deal made, the ink isnt there yet so anything could happen. Can't. Screw. This. One. Up.
  3. I'd hold off on the schadenfreude until we see "our guy" at the press conference.
  4. Yeah, i retracted my comment. I didnt see that part at the bottom.
  5. With my mind right now on accountability, I wondered, "How does Scott handle players who get into trouble?" I found this article: UCF Players suspended 6 games! I want Scott even more now, especially after reading his comments in the article "We hold our athletes to the highest standard and they’re going to have consequences if they don’t live up to that standard,” UCF coach Scott Frosttold the Orlando Sentinel. “We’re going to do everything we can for those two young men and hopefully they learn the lesson.”
  6. I was really only addressing ladyhawke's comment on how we treat Riley in what we all pretty well know is his last game. The game itself -- obviously hoping against hope we get the 'W', but prolly more like you describe.
  7. I was just going to post something similar to what you said. KJ's may not see it, there is absolutely a correlation. If there was such concern over Riley, then show up, work hard, keep your nose clean, and be accountable. Little things like that make a difference. The lack of accountability overall is a good part of what sunk Riley's ship.
  8. I hope so, too, and i really think it will. I know we dont like the results on the field and we do need to cut ties, but let's make it as civil and painless on him as possible. He is a human being who represented N very well.
  9. Could i please get my user name changed from FlipPhone to Dilly Dilly ? Thanks!
  10. Thing said UCF > Nebraska. I mean, it's pretty obvious that's the case (for now).
  11. I respect your posts more than I do anyone else's here, but I dont believe anyone said anything out of line. He didnt contribute here, and to be honest, i forgot he was even supposed to be here. He was gone a "long" time ago, and it's hard to just pick up and come back. I dont think he would have regardless.
  12. I usually would never bag on a prospect or player, but ... what did KJJ actually contribute here, other than to the local weed economy? I wish him well in his life, but the ship probably sailed prior to Riley's fate being decided anyway. Did any of us really see him coming back in January?
  13. Exactly - look at how Wisconsin coaches do when they weren't at WI --- Chryst was very average at Pitt, Anderson was below average at OSU, and we all know Bert is about to get the axe. Pssst - its not the coaches there -- it's Alvarez. He's also the reason they all want to leave there, because of his meddling. And Eichorst thought he would follow his lead. Only problem was, Eichorst had no business doing it.
  14. That was my line of thinking, too - see the the "Grinch" thread in the rumor section.
  15. Didnt now about the podcast but will check it out. To your point of having elitism - i was actually surprised there wasn't more outrage about Eichorst's shots at Iowa. I thought that was unprofessional at best, "dangerous" at worst. So glad he is gone now, and likewise to the former (full time) AD -- who didnt want us gravitating toward mediocrity. He got his wish, we didn't gravitate toward it, we nose dove right into it and hit bottom in record time because of the dominoes he started in motion.
