  1. Similarities: -Both were poorly structured and made no sense. Can anybody honestly say they understood either of those videos? -Neither would get me excited about anything. -Both made me want to punch myself the face. -Both make me feel sick. I think there are more similarities between them than you want to admit.
  2. No way, nothing that horrid should ever be shown in our stadium. We already went into the realm of horror with the 2007 Tunnel Walk. Whoever thought that was a good, pump up Tunnel Walk needs to take the sharp end of a spear into the face.
  3. I can't believe I never saw that beauty. Makes me think of all the schools out there that use Enter Sandman as their team entrance song .
  4. Hopefully we can lay down the same type of humiliation unto Blaine Gabbert from here out. There is nothing sweeter than beating a former high-profile recruit for Nebraska. We're 1-0 so far, and if we do truly get better next year (as Bo seems to think) we've got a good chance. Because you know Blaine Gabbert is so good that he'll go pro after his Junior year. I was under the impression that the NCAA would let him leave after this year, given his skill set.

  6. This is speculative. Our ratings between a bunch of different polls rank from the lower 20's to the lower 50's. Plus, if we win a close game and don't cover the spread I doubt you will see us move up that much. This is a good point, but every game in CFB matters. It's not like the NFL where all you pretty much have to do is win your division and you get into the playoffs. If we lose to CU after beating K-State, you will probably see us a make a lesser bowl than if we would have beaten them. We aren't making a BCS bowl unless we win out, and that includes beating Texas. Not to be insulting but the notion that we would make a BCS bowl by simply beating K-State is ridiculous. We are no lock in by any means. If we win our next two games and lose to Texas, we are going to the Holiday Bowl and there is pretty much no escaping that.
  7. Getting blown out by Missouri at home can do that to a spread. I'm not saying I think Nebraska will win this one by a landslide, but you have to like our chances. Our offense is finally being productive, our defense is still the best defense we have had in years (I give them some leeway for Saturday because of having to defend 87 plays against OU and then another 80 against KU), Helu appears to be dealing with his shoulder injury well, and we finally have a quarterback who is making big plays for us again. K-State is a run first football team that has over-achieved to say the least this year, so I give him a lot of credit. However, they still lack game-changing playmakers. They have Banks and their pretty talented running back. I saw a stat Saturday that said something like Banks and the running back have accounted for 61% of the offensive touches this year. That is crazy. You find a way to control those guys and you win this game big time. Their defense has been solid at times and porous/embarrassing at others. It will be interesting to see which defense for them shows up. Point spread is probably a bit higher than what the final score will show, imho.
  8. AND... Bill Belichick expanded on his arrogance and lost! I love seeing that man lose.
  9. First thing I thought of before I opened this thread.. Is it wrong of me to only remember KSU for this display of Crouch's amazing flexability? Damn, he did go all Linda Blair on that facemask pull. That had to hurt the next morning. Any word of him puking pea soup later on? A little surprised Crouch wasn't flagged for trying to break #50's fingers... Heard nothing about the pea soup. Although there were a few witnesses of a possible crab-walk down stadium steps the following practice.
  10. 1) The decleater block in the 1995 K-state game in Lincoln. Absolutely blew that defender up and we got a punt returned for a touchdown. 2) WHERE THE F*CK IS THE FACEMASK CALL AGAINST CROUCH!?!? I'm still waiting for it
  11. And that is what is important. The coaches have said that they not only look at physical capabilities, but they also look at guys who know how to win and get things done. CG did that in high school. He found ways to win football games. He's got potential, like knapplc said, and now it just needs to be refined and put to good use. You can shirk this kid all you want, but the fact of the matter is that the coaches didn't put him in to start just because they wanted him there. They play whoever is best for the position. If LTW or TM were better, I'm 100% sure they would be playing. It's as simple as that.
  12. WITT LEFT THE TEAM!?!? And, oh yeah....
  13. He's probably just trying to find ways for people to come out and watch the game, given that everybody has started to turn their attention to basketball season. Reesing is also probably just pissed that we beat Oklahoma, and Oklahoma ended up dominating them.
  14. I didn't understand this at first, but after looking at the first page of threads I realized. I lol'd.
  15. Honestly, I don't agree that Zac Lee being on the field for the Oklahoma win earns him the right to be the starter. Yes, he joins a select group of people to have beaten Oklahoma, but imho he did not do enough in that game to really prove that he should be the guy starting. Now, I'm not saying one quarterback should start over the other. All I am simply saying is that once again neither showed anything in that game that says they should be starting. We are in a situation right now where the starting quarterback talk is overrated, because if one struggles for much of the game he is going to get pulled.
  16. lol IMHO our quarterbacks don't suck. They just suck at doing certain things.
  17. I happen to be very understanding of judgment calls whether they go against us or not, because they are based on opinions. In my opinion, what Prince did was legal because the NCAA rules say that you can have your hands on a WR after five yards. Prince did not interfere with the catch. The WR could have fought harder to get to the ball rather than let prince cut in front and take it from him. In essence, the ref could have called it if he wanted but I don't believe it would have warranted a call. Even though I don't like penalties getting called against us, I'm very understanding of the ones I agree that we deserve.
  18. What type of plays do you think give us the best chance of getting those points? Perhaps I should have chosen the title more carefully. I didn't realize that half of the replies would be some variation of "points,""wins," etc. I know what you meant I was just being difficult . I think we need to run variations of the power I. We ran quite a bit of the power I from a two tight end, one WR set. We need to spread the field a bit more. I think they should take away one of those tight ends and split out a WR, or just leave the five linemen and split out three WR's. I would also like to see heavy tight end shot gun sets to run out of. We did a couple of them against Baylor and they worked well off of QB draws. I think Baylor's defense is a bit better than KU's defense, so I would expect this to work a bit more effectively.
  19. I watched the replay a couple times and yes, even though Amukamara had his hands on him, you are allowed to put your hands on a receivers after 5 yards in college football. It was basically a judgment call and by the time the ball was thrown Prince was making his cut and his hands were off the receiver.
  20. We aren't stretching the field because neither of our quarterbacks are seeing the field correctly. There are constant checkdowns, the line doesn't block, receivers don't get open, or somebody gets happy feet and runs with it before they should. Saying we need to "stretch the field" is a lot easier said than done, and there is no quick fix solution to why we cannot pick up first downs. The problem with your idea, OP, is that if the play doesn't work you just wasted a time out. And I'm not sure why you would tell the quarterback to force a throw and if he throws an interception, it's OK. Yeah, it forces him to throw down field and attack different parts of the field, but it just seems rather ridiculous to call a timeout just for one play at a point in the game where getting that first down may not be that important. I mean, are you really going to call a time out early in the first quarter on 3rd down if you don't have to? We all have issues with how this offense is performing, but Lee has taken a couple of shots down field in previous games and even then it didn't look like his confidence got a boost. Even if the line blocked and the receivers got open, it didn't change the feel of the game and it is apparent because on following drives we still didn't produce points.
  21. What do I want to see from the offense? Points. Don't care how they get them.
  22. CU needs to get rid of Hawkins, now. IMHO, he has had far too long to be successful. He has had 5 years of his own recruits and own schemes fail. I understand that coming from Boise State this looked like a very good hire, but I think it is time to load up the Hawk bus and get it rolling. But of course if CU would prefer to make Nebraska's trip to the Big 12 championship game every year a little bit easier, than they can keep Hawkins.
