  1. Unfortunately, Deontae, who I was really high on last year, tore his ACL and is out for the season for the Huskies. See, just like with Giovanni Bernard, that is why you should not pick against NU...
  2. UNC gets bumped much farther down this list (possibly off it) if Austin can't play due to the whole scandal thing going on right now...
  3. We shall put you on the same pedestal we use for Bo's aquarium guy, mnhusker . I say we make a Ten Commandments of Husker Football, with number 4 obviously being "Thou shalt fear the Camstache." Number 5 could then be "Thou shalt speak no ill will of the Camstache, lest you try to sway others to believe it should be shorn."
  4. Are you a super sensative weenie who takes everything too personally and is thinking I want you to make a game out of offing yourself? Or are you simply the Noogie guy? I hope its the latter. If it's the first, don't do it brother... it's not your fault
  5. For anybody that wants an easy time killing game to play at work, try Five Minutes to Kill Yourself Reloaded from Adult Swim Games. No, it's not a platform game, and not very deep, but fun and addicting nonetheless. So many ways to die! You don't know true fear until you've run into the Noogie guy.
  6. Too funny, just checked this five minutes ago, and I sorted the teams by most Sportsmanship points. Of the few teams actually in the positive, guess who was in the lead with the most points? That's right, our little brothers to the East... Iowa State.
  7. Honestly, you can never have enough studs at the end position, wreaking havoc on the QB, but things are looking really really good for us there right now, at least viewed through my scarlet tinted glasses... We have Pierre, who will hopefully have a breakout season and show all the non believers that he's a stud. We also have Ankrah, who from what I've gathered should just go into beast mode during games and give us a real dangerous weapons. Josh Williams was a four star guy outta high school who should be really hungry for playing time entering his RS Sophomore year. Next year, Okuyemi, Ashburn, and Donovan Vestal (a man child) are waiting in the wings. And, oh yeah, we have Tom Selleck starting opposite Pierre. Look for big big things from these guys, I'm especially stoked to see Ankrah in his frosh campaign and see if Williams can have a breakout year.
  8. no worries man. its your opinion. MU holds guys out or puts red jerseys (non contact) on guys who get banged up. As Pinkel was quoted as saying, if there was a game they could play. Its more for their protection that they are not injured worse than just some bumps and bruises. As far as him being a "d", well personally i like his stance on injuries. It doesnt matter. Everyone has guys go down. He has never whined or cryied about a guy being down "ohh poor us, we lost (insert name)". I believe it sets the right tone for the team. Be ready & prepared. And also that there are no excuses not to do your job, injury or not. I think that given the 100's of statements and quotes over the years about the family at MU, especially those from players who transfered from other schools says more about the type of person GP is. Well, your guys definitely love Mizzou football, that's for sure. Never heard a former MU player badmouth the team or the way they do things, so that's definitely good. And you're right, Pinkel's attitude on injuries is a good one... don't let them be an excuse or stop the team from reaching its goals. Just, to me, it almost seems like he took it overboard, almost seeming like he didn't care about guys if they didn't get hurt. Surely that's not the case. I'm probably just predisposed to read negatively into anything Pinkel says, as he is the head coach at Mizzou.
  9. Yes, we want to get the best guys on the field. But if Rome were to play this year, that would put him and Thad in the same class, making them both froshes eligibility wise this year. They'd both graduate and we'd need to find some other DT's to fill that hole in the future. Nothing like not filling a positional need in NCAA and having to play a crappy 45 overall walkon there next year. Anyway, with that being said, I don't have a problem if Chase plays. Rex, Tray, and Cody Green proved last year that True froshes can definitely contribute to a football team. But Bo's MO is to not play freshman, RS them and let the mature and learn the ropes their first year. Just the way he likes to do things. I'd say Chase is probably our 5th defensive tackle at this point. Depending if they do indeed rotate our D lineman more this year like Carl has said, there MIGHT be a spot for Chase to get some time, and his chances increase if someone gets hurt. I just don't see him playing this year, though. I think Crick, Moore, Bake, and Thad keep him off the field, ALA Suh and Steinkuhler to the other DT's in 2008. But hey, if Chase gets on the field, I will cheer him on like anybody else. This kid is truly one of my favorites from the 2010 class. You gotta love a guy... and I think it was Rome, right?... who's dad had martial arts experience and passed that knowledge on to the kid. That should definitely teach Rome how to use his hands, eh?
  10. Pierre's got all the potential to have a great year... he was a stud for us in 2008 when things were rough going at first, and he slumped a bit last year, but here's to hoping he puts it all together this year. Lord knows the D could use a world beater at End... the good D's at NU always start with the big guys up front. Also, at the bottom of this article, they mentioned that RETURNING STARTING CENTER Mike Smith was lost for the year ... Swing and a miss. Nice try, Denver Post.
  11. Any reason in particular you say this, EZ-E? Got some insider info for us? Basically QE, CR, and CC are the only three freshmen that are physically ready to contribute at the D1 level. Quincy is just a different type of WR than any that we have on the roster. Welp, there's my LOL for the night. When you said CC, I had to think for a while and even so the only name I could come up with was Curtis Carter. Anyway, as far as receivers that can actually help NU (yeah, I'm calling you out, Curtis ), if Enunwa forced his way onto the field as a frosh, that'd be straight up bad dass (yeah, two words). It's been awhile since NU saw a receiver step up and make a real contribution as a true frosh... yeah, Bell got on the field some last year, but not in any real way. And Niles frosh campaign was a joke... what a horrible waste of eligibility by that certain offensive genius that is no longer with us. Yet another quality moment, brought to you by Bill Callahan! I agree. Niles should be a RS Junior this year not a senior. I can definately see Quincy ending up being a diamond in the rough strangely simular to Eric Martin. Let's not forget, UCLA tried to sway him as signing day neared, ala Bobby Stoops and Andrew Green. Bo seems to have a real good retention rate in those situations... definite positives. He's finding kids that have their minds made up, and definitely want to play for the Big Red... case in point: Jamal Turner. Much better than feeling nervous about some of the kids in the Callahan era. Getting a stud in that epic 2007 season was like "YEAH! Now, how long is this dude going to actually stay on our commit list?" BTW, that story about Carl seeing Pete the Cheat at that Cally All Star Game in which E Mart and nameless USC commit (higher rated) played and E Mart dominated still makes me smile.
  12. No tips here brah, but I won the Heisman in my offline Dyn with an unlikely hero, Tray Robinson. Won it as a fifth year RS Senior. Rode dude like a horse and he just tore up the competition. Believe he was up to a 94 by his senior year. Got a lot of playing time when Rex got hurt the year before (too bad, as I was gonna get Rex his Heisman, too, til he was lost for 5 weeksw ).

  15. Well hell I'm sure we wouldn't turn down another Matty O. It's official, now, btw, on front page of Rivals and not just the RSS anymore.
  16. Link Injuries mount at Mizzou By Mike DeArmond - Posted on 12 August 2010 By the end of Missouri’s ninth practice of August on Thursday morning, the injury toll had risen to a disturbing 10 players, including defensive starters Aldon Smith, Kenji Jackson and Andrew Gachkar. “We’re not playing tomorrow," Missouri coach Gary Pinkel said, later adding that most of the battered and bruised would be able to play if the Tigers had a game on Saturday. Pinkel bluntly swept aside questions about the mounting injury total. “It doesn’t matter,” Pinkel said. “I don’t really care who gets hurt; there’s no excuses. We don’t care. The bottom line, people move up and whoever is playing game day against Illinois (Sept. 4 opener), plays.” As harsh as that might have sounded, it was in keeping with Pinkel’s often-stated refusal to dwell on how injuries might affect the team’s success or failure. “We don’t ever talk about woe is me and this is awful that this happened to us,” Pinkel said. “We don’t do that around here. We don’t have any excuses for nothing.” The opening week of fall practice has already seen backup linebacker Donovan Bonner lost for the season because of a torn ACL in a knee; leading returning receiver Jerrell Jackson out perhaps until “sometime in the middle of September,” and backup safety Jarrell Harrison set for meniscus surgery Friday with a hopeful prognosis that he might be back for the season opener against Illinois. Pinkel said Smith, Missouri’s star defensive end, could miss a couple of days because of a hip pointer. Kenji Jackson went down with a shoulder stinger after a hard tackle and collision with tight end Michael Egnew that tailback Derrick Washington said “bent” Egnew’s helmet. Gachkar, after picking off a Blaine Gabbert pass over the middle, came up with a limp that lasted the rest of the practice at Memorial Stadium. Reserve receiver Brandon Gerau needed attention when he came off the field favoring his left shoulder. Reserve offensive guard Jayson Palmgren spent most of the day on an exercise cycle with an undisclosed problem, and reserve receiver L’Damian Washington, Pinkel said, had a thigh bruise that put him in a protective red jersey. Reserve tailback De’Vion Moore was back after recovering from a mild concussion, but reserve linebacker Will Ebner was on the sidelines again because of a strained hamstring. Missouri returns to the practice field at 3 p.m. Thursday, although the second workout has been shortened to only one hour. Read more: http://campuscorner.kansascity.com/node/1033#ixzz0wYMQ9N5e Written by Mike DeArmond, a Mizzou hack writer, if I remember right? Anyway, yeah sure, the injuries they have are not severe, but 10 guys banged up at once is quite a bit. I know we have our share of injuries, and it they may reach 10+ sometimes, but I still thought this was worth posting. Just some more fluff before the season begins... The comments on this article are funny. One guy cites the article as positive, that the injuries likely resulted from tough practices, and that the program is readying itself to make a statement this year. HA... This is the year Mizzou pulls it all together. The one thing I pulled from this article is that Pinkel is not only a bad coach, but a dick as well. Please don't kill me FroDaddy!
  17. I supposed for my breakout players, I will take Yoshi, Caputo, Williams, Henry... hell, the whole offensive line. It's really, really hard for me to put my faith into something directed by Barney Cotton, but I look for big things from them this year. If we're going to control games and enforce our will on offense, you guys all know where it starts. Hopefully Marcel finally plays up to his potential, as I seem to remember Barney or possibly someone more competent saying that Marcel has the ability to be our best lineman. Also, I'm hoping for a big year from Sirles, Qvale, A-Rod (if he plays), Seung Hoon Choi, or even possibly Brandon Thompson (remember him?). A few years ago, he was all the rage as a scout team lineman. In any case, any of those young guys stepping up, as well as the starters upping their games, should help us inch closer to Pipeline status once again.
  18. All I'm saying is, don't be surprised if this season you see several play by play guys genuinely confused, thinking that Tom Selleck is a starting DE for our Huskers.
  19. Jeez, Carl makes Alex look like he just got a full body wax. Honestly, dude has hair everywhere except the top of his head...
  20. Yeah, that aTm prediction might actually make sense if that defense could stop a pee wee team. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Sure, Von Miller will get his stats, but Rome was not made in a day, and an aTm D was not made by Miller.
  21. I'd just like to point out, I'm the one who swayed Ubben to reconsider his position on B12 staches. Yes, I am none other than Brian from Iowa.
  22. Sipple is confirming this on his Twitter, FWIW
  23. I was SHOCKED that they had us as the No. 1 O Line in the Big 12. Special Teams, D Line, and Secondary I understood, but the O Line and the Linebackers rankings shocked me quite a bit. This is one of those articles where you can tell Rivals has a pretty good idea about the league as a whole, but doesn't know some of the smaller details about each team. Also, I just LOLd about Texas being one spot below ISU in the offensive backfield ratings. Take that GG! (gayest nickname ever)
  24. My personal fav is I Form Offset (with the FB off to the right) and straight up, old school Off Tackle. Great play... would be even better if our O Line was better than just average.
  25. And that's why you never go to UNC over NU...
