  1. I don't buy the injury "issues" with Helu. Burkhead was hurt as well last year so you can never really count on a guy to stay injury free. In my opinion, Helu is the more complete back. he has gotten bigger and faster and has great ability catching the ball out of the backfield. Burkhead is a north/south runner and can be a nice change up from Helu.
  2. Easily my favorite Husker LB of all time. He just made opposing offenses look silly... I totally agree, Farley was a beast. He was great in the 95 season and set a trend for guys like Carlos Polk and Demario Williams of the future. Fast, tenacious linebackers who could cover a lot of ground.
  3. I have never known teams to use a center at all. Usually just get some guy to take a knee and "snap" the QB the ball. Usually QB, one or 2 running backs, and 4 or 5 receivers depending on your backs. On Defense 2 to 3 linebackers and 4 to 5 DB's once again depending on how many linebackers you use. I think that is right, but not sure. And they play 5 on 5 in 8 man football.
  4. I am going to go with Scott Frost. He was a beast! Alot like Tebow with his toughness. He could just run you straight over, and took hit after hit without missing a beat, along with some good speed. He was fun to watch, a great competitor, and won a national championship as a senior. It also says something about toughness when you can play safety at a high level in the NFL. Then, to top it all off, he man handled Legarette Blount after the Boise State incident this year.
  5. I agree totally! In order to be back we need to beat a Top 10 team. We will have the chance next year and if and when we do, we will be back!
  6. Playing Division 2 ball, we go 1's vs. 1's every tuesday and Wed. usually for an inside run period and a blitz pass period. It is a HUGE benefit as an o-lineman. Last year we had an all-american at d-end, and 2 all-conference beasts on the d-line. When we got to the games it was a breeze because we were prepared in practice and went against the best D-line we would face during the week of practice. I think it brings competition and toughness and if it is not happening at Nebraska definitely should be!
  7. I think the offense has to change. Peleni has done a great job with the defense, even though there is still a lot of work to do, but the offense is far behind. I'd like to see Nebraska recruit more athletes on offense and run a spread offense similar to those of Florida, Oregon, etc. I think Watson is a smart coach, but the offense does not fit the Huskers. Cody Green is in place, just surround him with athletes and I think we will start to succeed.
  8. I was in the student section in the east stadium. We went crazy and in the process one of my friends jumped up and about gave me a bloody nose, and two people around us fell from all the excitement! GREAT GAME!!
  9. John Randall wore it for the Vikings for years. He was a beast!!!
  10. Helu, no question about it. Castille did have a good game, but Helu had a good season, Helu is more versatile and holds on to the ball. Castille will be a big part of the offense as well, but Helu will shine next year.
  11. WOW, I am surprised that question is even being asked. Tebow would start and thrive. He is one of the best college football players in history. With his ability to throw and run he would be deadly.
  12. Maybe if he tackle like a certin MVP qb after he fumbled he might have had more fans Wow, well said, I agree with you 100%
  13. I adimre Joe Ganz for his hard working personality and dedication to the team. But, I am not going to give him a lot of praise for that tackle. Sure, he hustled and made a play, but he had just thrown a pic and I hate when QB's throw a pic and are nowhere to be seen on the return. So I commend him for his hustle and tenacity, but that should be expected.
  14. Of course we would rather be in a BCS bowl even if it wasn't on TV at all. But with that said, FOX is horrible at covering the BCS games. I agree with all the statements about the Texas/OSU game, but last year was just as bad. I think the band is a great part of college football, but during the Orange Bowl last year they showed the band between every play, and sometimes missed the beginning of a play while they were focusing on the Tuba. So that is my 2 cents.
  15. I think the comparison between Castille and Alexander is a very good and accurate. Alexander was a very good back in my mind. Although he was not the most agile back, he had good north-south speed and was very physical. He did have a fumbling issue, much like Castille. Castille is more athletic and I think is more talented. But Alexander has always been one of my favorite huskers, and not only was a good player but a great person. I hope Castille can have as good of a career as Alexander had at Nebraska. Lot of comparisions, Alexander and Buckhalter/Castille and Helu.
