  1. Not that I am in anyway suggesting this, but has anyone ever seen this happen before? Nothing comes to mind for me. At least one time comes to mind for me. Back in 1999, Colorado tried an onside kick to start the game I believe. Dan Alexander then took a pitch from Crouch and went 50 yards for a TD on the very next play. so, i think it's best if Nebraska stays away from that particular strategy.
  2. All this talk reminds me of Troy coming to town in 2006 and the worries about western michigan last year. Nebraska 56 Troy 0 Nebraska 47 W. Michigan 24 I'm not discounting anything in this day and age of random out of nowhere upsets, but i really have no worries about losing this game or the other games against the sun belt teams.
  3. With Todd Reesing returning, along with Briscoe, Meier and Sharp, and getting the Huskers in Lawrence with a new QB, is the main reason people are picking the Jayhawks this year. That's obviously not going out on a limb there as they are loaded on offense. But I think a lot of people are neglecting the fact that KU has some personnel losses on the defensive side of the ball that need to be addressed. The biggest overlooked thing with the Jayhawks is their schedule. They play OU, Texas and at Texas Tech, while Nebraska gets T. Tech and OU at home and have a road trip to Baylor. It's a good possibilty that KU goes 0-3 vs the South while NU will go 2-1. That puts a lot of pressure on KU to win out in the North. It will be interesting to see.
  4. I'm pretty sure huskerh8ter is the guy who lives in Omaha, and even has an anti Husker website. I'm sure his life will be a living hell when we start kicking their ass again..lol haha oh wow. it's more serious than i had imagined.
  5. He's probably on both teams because we only have 3 quarterbacks available for the game. So I'm sure they are just going to switch him back and forth as needed.
  6. I just glanced over a few of the topics over of tiger board and discovered what utter chaos it is on that site. Now I really like beating Mizzou, but I don't hate them by any means. I respect what they've done and they've handed us some pretty embarassing losses this decade. But come on! the hatred some of them have for Nebraska is insane! some one even goes by "Huskerh8ter" on that site. Are they just more of fans against Nebraska, or do they actually cheer for Mizzou once in a while? I'm really hoping for the Skers to show up big on the national stage that evening against the Tigers.
  7. Dumb and Dumber Office Space Animal House Planes, Trains and Automobiles Kindergarden Cop (It's hilariously funny watching Arnold trying to be funny, somehow it works. It's one of those unexplained mysteries of the world)
  8. I agree. It seems like this could be pretty effective. Hopefully this will spell an end to this "get to the line and look to the sidelines" type of offenses. It's never really sat well with me. It works obviously, but it seems like some sort of video game manuever.
  9. Mike Brown. That 1999 defense was a thing of beauty, and Brown was the glue of it all.
  10. Thanks Agent Utah. sincerely, Bodhi "Bodhi, this is your ******* wake-up call man. I am an F, B, I, Agent!" nice catch on the Point Break reference
  11. Reed moving to TE is an unmistakable sign that the coaches feel good about the kids at LB. Otherwise I do not see how you move a player like Reed out of there. That or maybe the coaches feel Reed is going to be an absolute stud at TE. Either way sounds good to me.
  12. According to the most recent pre-spring 2009 roster, Kyler Reed is at TE. http://www.huskers.com/SportSelect.dbml?SP...PRINTABLE_PAGE=
  13. I agree with everything you said here. The schedule lines up a lot better for us. we are more than capable of acheiving a 6-2 or at worst a 5-3 conference record, which would win the division i would think.
  14. North 1. Nebraska-The D continues to get better, 6-2 record should win the division 2. Kansas- They get us at home, but very well could lose 3 games to the South 3. Colorado-Injury bug hit them hard in '08, scary game in Boulder this year 4. Missouri-Lost too much on both sides of the ball, tough year for the Tigers 5. Kansas State-Tough team to read, their D should be improved. 6. Iowa State- new coach and they are Iowa State South 1. Oklahoma-return most of their Defense as well as Bradford, lower scoring games this year tho. 2. Texas-McCoy will carry the team on his back once again 3. Oklahoma State-very loaded, can they make a huge step this year? 4. Texas Tech-may have peaked, 4 to 5 losses this year 5. Baylor-Griffin will give defenses fits, but they are still Baylor 6. Texas A&M-Should be improved, but not quite enough 1. Oklahoma 2. Texas 3. Oklahoma State 4. Nebraska 5. Kansas 6. Texas Tech 7. Colorado 8. Missouri 9. Baylor 10. Texas A&M 11. Kansas State 12. Iowa State
  15. Actually the game was close late in the game. FSU did come roaring out of the gates in that game leading 28-14 at halftime, but Vick led them to a 29-28 lead late in the game before Peter Warrick took over the 4th quarter helping FSU to win 46-29. But it still pains me to this day that we fumbled so much against Texas, i think that '99 defense would have dominated Mr. Weinke and the Seminoles.
