  1. Under – (it’s mostly the internets people in love with Martinez) ====================================== over/under: 27 yards, longest run from scrimmage
  2. Seems like there is less of an incentive to plug, use Rogaine, or whatever. The buzzed look has been in for a quite a few years now, and seems here to stay. Thank you Michael Jordan. I just hope the buzzed look is still in fashion when my hair thins to the point where a buzz would make sense.
  3. You're a year late with that prediction...for Brown anyway.
  4. I predict there will be such an uproar that this stupid rule gets overturned. When this happens I am going to stand outside the NCAA headquarters and taunt them.
  5. Ha ha! Sure thing. btw, I would save the toddler from the fountain. And I would kill 100 pit bulls with a 3 lb sledge before I hurt my family.
  6. IF there no prepayment penalty (you can make larger payments than required), and IF you have the discipline to make the larger payments to pay it down in, say, 15 to 20 years, then why not? 4.125% for ten years sounds pretty sweet.
  7. That would be great if we could get a pipeline going from Mater Dei. That’s where Cam Meredith came from. One of the best high schools in the U.S. for football and basketball.
  8. Bet he goes back to his old HS and still ends up as an OU recruit come February.
  9. Under. If martinez rushes for > 50 yards our O-line has some questions to answer. =================================================== over/under: 25,000 people get sunburns.
  10. The performance of our receiving corps will depend on whether our O-line comes together this year (they didn't last year), and whether we have a QB who can accurately throw the ball (we didn't last year). But I think our WRs are as talented as any in the B12 North. Also, Mizzou lost a bunch of talent. But the guys coming up are pretty good, Jerrell Jackson and Wes Kemp. I'd put Mizzou a couple of spots higher than 5th.
  11. But those other guys weren’t Suh. If Suh is on the cover the curse will cause John Madden to blow an ACL.
  12. I'm not a big Jerry Jones fan. I think the guy is a jerk. But it sucks that some guy with a camcorder basically ambushes him when he is flat assed drunk. (Or a reporter?) Newsflash: Somebody who is wasted is going to say stupid, nonsensical crap. Even though a cheap move by the camcorder guy, the vid is kind of funny. Ha ha! (in Nelson Muntz voice)
  13. i don't see what the issue would be either, but maybe there were stipulations ESPN would have included (game time, paying something to espn, etc.) with which NU did not agree. Yeah, that’s quite possible. I have to admit, though, that I may be a bit biased in thinking NU should have aired the spring game: I just want to see it.
  14. Only won of them broke the law!!!! The public shame that tigger has caused his family and his friends is immense but I don't what he did broke any laws and he wasn't charged and sent away for doing anything wrong. He was probably under the influence of drugs when he left his house and crashed his car but he wasn't charged with a serious crime on that. So in terms of breaking the law and doing worse, you would have to say that Mike Vick did much worse but tigger is guilty of having no morals. Not a crime in my opinion. He has to deal with the damage to his marriage but no jail time. Ahhh, morals versus the law. Not always so clear. Consider a guy sitting on a park bench who passively watches a toddler wander away from her mother, fall into the fountain and drown. But the guy does nothing to save the toddler. The guy would not break any law, but would certainly have questionable morals. But if that same guy walked his dog through the park without bothering to clean up his dog’s poop, well then he would be a lawbreaker, although not necessarily an immoral person. Even though Vick broke laws and served jail time, I still think Tiger’s actions were worse because the people Tiger hurt most were his own family. But that's just my own opinion.
  15. I've had great luck with Gateway. I used one everyday for nearly four years, and no problems. It was from several years back when Gateways were still assembled in South Dakota. But I don't know much about their quality now that Acer owns them. (Bought out the company a couple of years back.) I bought a Toshiba a couple of years back. Worked fine for one year, almost to the week. Then it crapped out, completely dead. I don't think I'll ever buy Toshiba again.
  16. I don't see what harm would have come from 360 airing the spring game. Maybe a bit more of a distraction. But the place is already going to be a circus--a little bit like a real game.
  17. Glad to see Nicks back in the fold, so to speak. And that Superbowl Disneyland quote—-kinda funny, but maybe not the best PR move. For Nicks or Disney.
  18. Ricky Henry (6-4, 305), Marcel Jones (6-7, 315), Mike Smith (6-6, 285) and Keith Williams (6-5, 310) Probably isn’t the best O-line we’ve ever put on the field. But it may be the biggest.
  19. Under – (2 commits w/i two weeks) =================================== Over/under: total yardage of Henery’s field goals added together is more than 150 yds
  20. Answer either "over" or "under." Then add your own over/under. =================================== Over/Under: There will be 28 men on the field on the first play from scrimmage, not counting referees. And six clipboards.
  21. I've never trusted him Any word on if he's selling any sweater vests? I think Rick Neuheisel bought one. Come to think of it, I don't trust Neuheisel either. Must be the sweater vest.
  22. //Nuance leans back in chair with huge feet propped up on desk. And massive hands clasped behind head. No swooshie girlie shoes for me, thank you.
  23. But if you look at who is coming back, the ranking could be a bit different: Texas (ranked 61st in rushing in 2009 with 513 carries for 2066 yards) Tre' Newton (soph this yr) 2009 had 116 carries for 552 yds, 5 TDs Cody Johnson (jr this yr ) 2009 had 87 carries for 340 yds, 12 TDs Vondrell McGee (sr this yr) 2009 had 56 carries for 300 yds, 2 TDs Foswhitt Whittaker (jr this yr) 2009 had 53 carries for 212 yds, 4 TDs Nebraska (ranked 62nd in rushing in 2009 with 512 carries for 2059 yards) Roy Helu (sr this yr): 2009 had 220 carries for 1147 yds, 10 TDs Rex Burkhead (soph this yr): 2009 had 81 carries for 346 yds, 3 TDs Dontrayevous Robinson (soph this yr): 2009 had 39 carries for 165 yds, 2 TDs Texas A& M (ranked 30th in rushing in 2009 with 544 carries for 2394 yds, 25 TDs) Christine Michael (soph this yr): 2009 had 166 carries for 844 yds, 10 TDs Cyrus Gray (jr this yr): 2009 had 159 carries for 757 yds, 5 TDs Iowa State (ranked 35th in rushing in 2009 with 516 carries 2340 yds and 17 TDs) Alexander Robinson (sr this yr): 2009 had 232 carries for 1195 yds, 6 TDs Jeremiah Schwartz (soph this yr): 2009 had 71 carries for 264 yds, 0 TDs Oklahoma (team ranked 77th in rushing in 2009 with 485 carries for 1750 yards) DeMarco Murray (Sr this yr, again): 2009 had 171 carries for 705 yds, 8 TDs Jeremy Calhoun (So this yr): 2009 had 45 carries for 220 yds, 1 TD Jon Miller (Soph this yr): 2009 had 18 carries for 130 yds, 1 TD Chris Brown (graduated): 2009 had 182 carries for 749 yds, 7 TDs Kansas State (ranked 36th in rushing in 2009 with 504 carries for 2159 yds and 22 TDs) Daniel Thomas (sr this yr): 2009 had 247 carries for 1290 yds, 11 TDs Keithen Valentine (graduated): 2009 had 55 carries for 357 yds, 6 TDs Oklahoma St (ranked 22nd in nation in rushing with 555 carries for 2441 yds and 22 TDs) Kendall Hunter (sr this yr): 2009 had 89 carries for 382 yds, 1 TD Beau Johnson (graduated): 2009 had 77 carries for 304 yds, 5 TDs Keith Toston (graduated): 2009 had 227 carries for 1218 yds, 11 TDs =================================================================================== This is a fairly simplistic look, not considering O-lines, returning QBs, etc.
  24. Here are some of last years rushing stats for top seven Big 12 teams. (team totals include QB rushing). ncaa stats link Oklahoma St (ranked 22nd in nation in rushing with 555 carries for 2441 yds and 22 TDs) Keith Toston (graduated): 2009 had 227 carries for 1218 yds, 11 TDs Kendall Hunter (sr this yr): 2009 had 89 carries for 382 yds, 1 TD Beau Johnson (graduated): 2009 had 77 carries for 304 yds, 5 TDs Texas A&M (ranked 30th in rushing in 2009 with 544 carries for 2394 yds, 25 TDs) Christine Michael (soph this yr): 2009 had 166 carries for 844 yds, 10 TDs Cyrus Gray (jr this yr): 2009 had 159 carries for 757 yds, 5 TDs Iowa State (ranked 35th in rushing in 2009 with 516 carries 2340 yds and 17 TDs) Alexander Robinson (sr this yr): 2009 had 232 carries for 1195 yds, 6 TDs Jeremiah Schwartz (soph this yr): 2009 had 71 carries for 264 yds, 0 TDs Kansas State (ranked 36th in rushing in 2009 with 504 carries for 2159 yds and 22 TDs) Daniel Thomas (sr this yr): 2009 had 247 carries for 1290 yds, 11 TDs Keithen Valentine (graduated): 2009 had 55 carries for 357 yds, 6 TDs Oklahoma (team ranked 77th in rushing in 2009 with 485 carries for 1750 yards) Chris Brown (graduated): 2009 had 182 carries for 749 yds, 7 TDs DeMarco Murray (Sr this yr, again): 2009 had 171 carries for 705 yds, 8 TDs Jeremy Calhoun (So this yr): 2009 had 45 carries for 220 yds, 1 TD Jon Miller (Soph this yr): 2009 had 18 carries for 130 yds, 1 TD Texas (ranked 61st in rushing in 2009 with 513 carries for 2066 yards) Tre' Newton (soph this yr) 2009 had 116 carries for 552 yds, 5 TDs Cody Johnson (jr this yr ) 2009 had 87 carries for 340 yds, 12 TDs Vondrell McGee (sr this yr) 2009 had 56 carries for 300 yds, 2 TDs Foswhitt Whittaker (jr this yr) 2009 had 53 carries for 212 yds, 4 TDs Nebraska (ranked 62nd in rushing in 2009 with 512 carries for 2059 yards) Roy Helu (sr this yr): 2009 had 220 carries for 1147 yds, 10 TDs Rex Burkhead (soph this yr): 2009 had 81 carries for 346 yds, 3 TDs Dontrayevous Robinson (soph this yr): 2009 had 39 carries for 165 yds, 2 TDs The other five, KU, Mizzou, CU, Baylor and Tx Tech didn’t have much in the way of rushing attacks last season. If DeMarco Murray is healthy he could be the best back in the conference. If OU can piece together an O-line for him. Helu should be among the top backs if he stays healthy. A&M’s Christine Michael could break out too.
  25. Let's say you are about to be interviewed for a job at a bank working in a finance and loans department. Would you rather walk into the interview with a giant "I am a jackass" poster slapped to your back, or would you rather go in with a nice suit on looking like a million bucks? Same principle applies here. Negative rep points give people the impression that you are a jackass. It doesn't matter if somebody negates points off of a post of mine, because I have 40+ points to spare. But, if a new poster comes on here and somebody doesn't like his take, he's immediately in the negative. Perhaps you don't care that much about rep points, but there are some people on here that do take it personally. I see your point and agree that some might lend credibility to a poster based on rep points. But if they do, they will miss out on some good points/observations made by those who aren’t in the popular crowd. Even dickheads can be insightful sometimes. But realizing that many people consider rep points to be important I have never given anyone a negative rep point.
