  1. The Arkansas game is on CBS. Nebraska/Texas and Michigan/Iowa are the only 2:30 games scheduled for ABC.
  2. NE Nebraska is in the Sioux City DMA (TV market).
  3. As a Chiefs fan, it's no big surprise to see them lose on the road @ Indy. What surprised me was how well the defense played. Cronnell has done an unreal job turning this D around and will keep KC in every game the rest of the way.
  4. 2:30 or 7pm, game time will be determined next weekend. http://my.journalstar.com/Husker_Extra_Group/Husker_Extra/blog
  5. Doesn't suprise me. Kietzman is a KSU alumn and is a HUGE Wildcat homer.
  6. Looks like thats what I'll be getting too. I have no desire whatsoever to watch Bama put up 50 points on a hapless Duke while hearing the announcers slobber incessantly about the return of the Heisman winner. I bet thats what Ill get her in Arkansas too. Will the NU/UW game be the "mirror" game on ESPN here in the south? Where can I found out? Anyone know? For us getting the Alabama/Duke game on ABC, the Wisconsin/Arizona game will be the reverse mirror. I will be so glad when we get out of this damn conference. I'm so sick of having to pay to watch my team play! Now I'm going to have to pay the $20 or whatever it is to by gameplan for the day because ABC has to show Alabama play Duke. Duke??? Ugh. On top of the first two games on PPV and then next weeks. On the bright side, that $20 will give you all of the GamePlan telecasts, not just 1 game for $40.00 like PPV does. Keep in mind that the Big 10 Network can have up to 4 games on at the same time during the 11am window and will show all the 11am games on a regional basis. If your cable provider offers all of the spill over channels, you'll be fine, however, if your cable provider doesn't offer the spill over channels, you'll be SOL. Mediacom, Iowa's largest cable provider, doesn't carry the spill over channels. Both Dish Network & DirecTV have the spill over channels.
  7. Who's your provider? I'm in Iowa and have DirecTV, the Oklahoma game was on a spill over channel.
  8. Those locations in blue will need ESPN GamePlan or ESPN3.com (that is if your high speed internet provider offers it) to watch the Nebraska game and those locations in green can watch the Nebraska game on ESPN2. So basically, 79% of the country will have the Nebraska game on either ABC or ESPN2.
  9. lets hope that this is the final PPV game, conference games on PPV isn't unheard of. Yes, i'm sick of the PPV telecasts as well and sick of the league and TV partners constanly taking advantage of Nebraska's fan support and knowing that Husker fans will gobble up the PPV in a heartbeat. Funny, you don't see Kansas, Kansas St., or Iowa St. games on PPV. I'm a DirecTV subscriber and thankfully didn't get the Idaho game and after hearing all about the signal issues DirecTV had, i'll pass on this one as well.
  10. I'd like to know when BTN will be available on dish too. Got tired of TWC's ridiculous pricing and switched this summer. I'm in Denver and the Dishnetwork customer service told me that for the foreseeable future the only way to get BTN is to add the sports package with a minimum of the 120+ package. That's an extra $6/month (I think that cost is correct, been awhile since I called). Those of you in Nebraska, it will probably get added as part of 120+ packages like it is in B10 region right now. When NU offically joins the Big 10 next July, my bet is that Dish Network subscribers in Nebraska will get the Big 10 Network as part of the basic programming packages, Husker fans outside of Nebraska will still need the sports pack, which on Dish Network also has the NFL Network's Red Zone channel
  11. I recall the comments from Jamrog when he first started as Director of Football ops regarding NU's non-con schedule "all they are doing is scheduling wins". Kudos to both Jamrog and TO for upgrading the non-con schedule.
  12. I live in the Des Moines metro and was a former Mediacom subscriber and i've never heard of Mediacom carrying the Nebraska PPV games. Unless you've got access to Dish Network or DirecTV, you'll be SOL.
  13. Mitch Sherman said on Schick & Nick that some of Ekeler's friends were at practice yesterday and went straight to the media afterwards. I am under the impression that at least one former player has been posting practice impressions on Red Sea Scrolls. There are two big no-no's when you go to practice: 1. Don't report any injury news before the coaches have had a chance to address the media. 2. Don't go posting information on practice on message boards or social network sites. If that's the situation, kudos to Bo for shutting things down for awhile. The LJS reported that often parents of players would be at practice. Is it just me, but in the helicopter parent era we live in, isn't that a potential pandora's box waiting to be opened?
  14. For those who haven't heard, 105.3 out of Chariton is going to have Husker football this fall. I live in Ankeny and the station comes in good in the car all the way into Ankeny, but start having reception issues with 105.1 out of Ames. Inside the house, I cann't get the station at ll.
  15. If you have exclusive use of a deck, patio, etc., the FCC allows for you to have the right to install a dish and their policies will trump any policies that your HOA may have. Do you own or rent? I am fairly positive it is agianst the law for an HOA to limit your access to media. I know this because I live in a Townhome and the HOA had a restriction on putting up sattelites and some people fought it and won and now we can have sattelites. look here for more info Very interesting! I will certainly look into that, thanks! Good luck! If your HOA fight's back (because some do) visit www.dbstalk.com and just do a search for HOA's for tips to win these sort of battles

  17. huskers15, I think it's an issue of demand more than anything else. I'm sure there's got to be some expense invovled for fill in the blank cable comapny to pick up the PPV games because despite the large Husker fan base that exists here in the Des Moines metro as well as in Western Iowa, Mediacom, which is Iowa's primary cable provider, has never picked up a Husker PPV telecast, that's despite several bars in the area who have in the past purchased the PPV and those places are packed full of Husker fans when they do. That leads me to believe that there has to be some expense invovled for these cable companies to carry the PPV telecast.
  18. What will make the 2010 season a successs for me is 1 - improve on offense; 2 - keep playing at the caliber on defense we saw last year; 3 - Win the North & Big 12 championship; and 4 - have a good showing in a BCS bowl.
  19. Gotta love having DirecTV and the sports pack. 15 years later, seeing Warren Saap sucking wind is still a sight to see
  20. In your part of the country, if you don't have a satellite service at your home, you'll be out of luck. Commerical establishments outside of Nebraska won't order the game because it'll set bars back $500, if not more.
  21. Really? The only time DirecTV has the spill over channels active are football Saturdays.
  22. 2010 Big 10 Kickoff special on Big 10 Network right now and will be repeated at 6pm tonight. A conversation with TO will be a part of the hour long broadcast.
  23. So, will they have 2 different stations, or will you be able to chose which game you want? There are spill over channels on both DirecTV and Dish Network. I've got DirecTV and during the 11am window, you could have up to 4 Big 10 Network games on different channels at the same time. Some cable companies carry the "spill over games", some do not.
  24. Iowa St is at the top of my list. Obviously living in the heart of Clone country, i've been reminded quite a bit of last year's disaster in Lincoln, but other than for having a respectful/decent conversation with one or two Clone fans, as a whole, ISU's fan base is largely rude, immature, lack a general knowledge of college football and has an inferiority complex a mile wide.
