  1. If you are a coach, just call the athletic office, let them know who you are, who you coach for and ask where you can send the game film into or where you can email it to. They will be happy to hear from you, trust me.
  2. Gosh I just dont get it. I was told by sooooo many BCers that Bo and his staff didnt like recruiting and that they werent any good at it. hmmm
  3. This cant be correct, I have been told over and over by bigredboard posters that Bo and his staff cant recruit. hmmm something is wrong here, really wrong! GO BIG RED
  4. I think sometimes we have to many fans that expect announcers, coaches other teams and players of other teams to just gush over NU and always jock them up. You know how we have pride in NU, well they have pride in their schools too. Or in announcers cases they are usually just trying to do a job.
  5. That is EPIC failure! Could you imagine how lame that guy feels right now?
  6. This coaching staff and how these players have bought into what they are selling. No shortcuts, work hard, play smart, be determined and remember your teammates have your back. There are no excuses, it is all about everyone working together.
  7. Gabbert has the size and skills but we have all known kids like him. They seem to have it all but they always seem to get hurt and they dont seem to win big games. Its not an attack on him, not saying he is soft or something but some kids just get dinged up all the time, some kids just dont win big games.
  8. I thought they did a great job, the game was freaking terrible for 3 quarters and they still did a great job. I think there is such an espn hatred at times that people let it cloud them. They dont work for the Skers, they are not supposed to just jock up the skers the entire game and when its a Skers road game they will talk even less about them. They probably him Mr. Suh because its his last name, you almost always hear all players called by their last name during games. For those of you that were upset with the announcing I would like to know what you would have liked to have changed? I dont mean that in a sarcastic way I am just curious.
  9. Okay, so I have seen some mizzo posts that point out all the excuses already. 1. Suh is dirty and intentionally tried to hurt Gabbert. - ummm, what? Even if that was true, Weatherspoon punched a kid in the back that was on the ground, that is supposed to be an automatic ejection. NEXT 2. The refs blew a lot of calls and screwed Mizzo. - ummm what? Didnt NU have more flags thrown on them? What about when Gabbert was down on the 1 yard line but got a touchdown. Its amazing to think how close mizzos offense was to not scoring at all. Those are the two big ones that I have seen, you guys got anything to add?
  10. That's funny, I feel even better about you guys coming to Lawrence and Moo in KC. You realize KU does score points don't ya? Yeah, so did Mizzo.
  11. They dont need to, their team just did! GO SKERS
  12. Gabber is average at best. He put up good numbers vs the Illini, I could have put up those numbers vs the Illini (and thats hard for me to say, i grew up by U of I and i LOVE them. Gabbert proved what he is/was, an injury prone kid, with tons of "skills" and thats it. We all know or have known kids like that growing up, kids that were on your team and just looked like the best player ever, but they were always hurt, always had an excuse about why things did go their way. The NFL will still love him because the NFL is convinced that college coaches dont know how to coach QB's.
  13. Talk about learning from your mistake. Bo has his DL get hands up all day and it pays off AND did you see the OLB'ers line up in a triangle between the last man on the LOS and the inside WR, they have their back turned to the QB, which immediatly takes away the slant route that Misso loves off of. It was freaking brilliant.
  14. What the flip are you talking about? Lame? For what? I'm talking about a hometown sport. Living in Omaha and following....let's say....the NY Mets. Not the same level of passion if it's not in your hometown/state. You Husker fans have an inferiority complex all of the sudden. You got served hard core and you know it, hence the flip out now. I grew up for 18 years in IL and guess what I like the skers. Under your logic, thats "umpossible" to quote Ralph Wiggum. You feel lame, its not a big deal, there might be a time when you turn around and get me on a post but its just not on your last one. Gosh, what would a person do who grew up in a state that had two football teams or two basketball teams or two baseball teams, how would that person ever be ablt to have the same level of passion for all those homestate teams. See, the reason you old people had this "passion" for your hometown team is because back in the "good old days" you pretty much only got coverage of that team but now its not like that so people all over love teams from all over. I dont really have to explain this do i? NEXT
  15. This is such a bigredboard poster.
  16. Dude, you hit it on the head. Some (not all) don't know what it's like to have more than just Husker football going. Cardinals in the playoffs Blues started the season in Sweden with two wins and come home for the home opener. Mizzou totally demolishing the Huskers... All in the same night. I have some of my fellow St. Louis buddies coming over to my Omaha crib and its going to be one hella sports night. What they need is something where people who dont live in Mizzo could maybe watch those baseball games or hockey games somehow, man, if only they would invent something like that, then us losers in Nebraska would know what its like to have something else to follow. Do you feel kinda lame now? I bet you do.
  17. Okay, can I give myself props for starting this thread and it being so active, or by doing that did I just become the guy no one wants to watch a game with?
  18. Okay, since a lot of us will be watching this game at home with friends or at a friends or at a bar, I wanted to know who you guys think are the most annoying fans to watch the game with? For me its these two people Annoying super fan guy, who has to try and tell you everything about everything and gets really mad at other people when they are not as "focused" on the game. Look, me focusing harder on the game isnt going to change the outcome (if it did I would have made a lot more money gambling), so relax. The second one is "Its just a game" fan, look, I know its a just a game, usually this is a girl that says this and trust us girls, we know its just a game. But you know how you get all worked up about a couples night gathering of sitting around and talking while we pretend to have fun playing apples to apples or scatagories, well guess what, thats just a game too so dont get all mad at us when we are not into that. Oh yeah, and anyone that tries to defend BC or that posts on the bigredboard, luckily I dont know anyone that defends him and would NEVER hang out with a BRBer.
  19. You betcha! AGP: Always Go Pro
  20. Lines are not created to entice action, they are created to make the game as hard to "call" as possible so that it appears there is no "easy bet", if they wanted action they would just make the line crazy and get all that "action" There is a reason that oddsmakers spend so much time studying trends, they hope that the line that is created makes the game finish in a tie, cause they win no matter what then.
  21. I agree that we should wait to see what happens before we trash talk. I agree that things should be civil. But please remember this: we're dealing with Missouri fans. Fans that believe, that because of their past two years of moderate success, they have always been the cat's pajamas. Apparently college football started only 3 years ago. Just hit the linky...we'll see how you feel after visiting this cesspool: http://www.tigerboard.com/boards/list.php?board=2 I implore you to attend a game in Columbia, Missouri. I was fortunate to attend the majority of said games when they were still our whipping post (1997, 1999, 2001), however, I was also unfortunate enough to attend the first game they had defeated us in 25 years (funny enough - exactly my age at the time). Strangely, the experience was exactly the same every year - including 2003 when they finally broke their massive losing streak....bad. Their fans are a bunch of slack-jawed yokels that hate everything that is Nebraska. Every year, MU fans were in our faces while walking to the game. Beer cans littered the highway adjacent to the stadium. Jack Daniels bottles were constantly afloat in the late autumn air, all in spite of their neighbors to the north. And that attitude stands to this very day. Nothing has changed, even after several lopsided wins for them. They are poor losers - and they are poor winners. It's ingrained in their DNA. It will never change. Go to a game in Columbia, my friend. On that note, I feel obligated to post this picture: You guys assume the N on your helmets means you're automatically better. Mizzou has been good for a while now, and really good for a few years. You will have your hands full on thursday and in the years to come. The sooner you realize that, the sooner you'll feel less depressed when you lose. Doc, Can I ask you to please explain what your idea of "really good" is? let me put it this way, I hate Callahan but his "best" year was 9 wins and a big 12 title game ass kicking thanks to OU. In my mind and in probably 90% of Husker fans minds (and UF fans, UT fans, OU fans, USC fans, PSU fans, OSU fans, Tenn fans, Bama fans, well you get the idea) that is a pretty "okay" year. Yet, it seems like to you, that you feel that Mizzos last two seasons, I assume those are what you are talking about, that ended with a Big 12 North title, then an ass kicking in the championship game, then a sad sad sad bowl win over Northwestern somehow equals "really good". Is that correct? I just want to make sure because I have a feeling that Mizzo can win 8 or 9 games this year, so I just want to be sure to mark that down as a "really good" season.
  22. This is kind of off topic but college QB's that get drafted high are not always big time winners in college. Now, thats not to say that Gabbert wont win a ton of games, he might. He reminds me of Jake Locker from Washington, just not as tough and not as good.
  23. Okay, this is so dorky but for some reason i loved it! Totally cool!!!
  24. Let me ask you, because you are not the first person to say it, but where did the idea that NU has slow DB's come from? Now personally NU's Dline will push around Mizzos Oline. Mizzos Dline might have good speed on the ends but like you said, if you can just double Suh, then you can just chip and end or screen them. Right? Well, the reason is pretty obvious. Look at what happened last year. I believe much of your secondary is back from last year. Not all the starters, but many who logged considerable time. We still have an excellent receiving core. I firmly believe we'll split your secondary and backers out wide. Take sharp intermediate routes and get tons of yardage in the middle of the field. Running those types of routes will allow Gabbert to release the ball quickly minimizing the rush... Last year, Suh and Turner were starters. You also had a NFL end in Potter... Still, they weren't able to get to Chase. Why? Because of quick throws. I expect the same. Also, for all the trouble people are giving Washington, he had an incredible game last year. He averaged around 9 yards a carry and 160 yards total. I don't expect that, but with three returning starters on our offensive line, I could see him getting at least half of his total. 80 yards will be plenty to compliment the aerial attack. Okay, thats fair enough but then why was it that last year you were blowing your first 3 or 4 teams out and this year you almost lost to two of them? I mean, something is off, right?
