I don't see how one could argue that the D failed against Illinois or even Wisconsin. You hold a team to 2 or 3 scores, and you should win. However, I do have concerns about the D overall. I'd argue the D failed against BYU, Miami, Northwestern, and Purdue though. Yeah, because the D gave it to the other team 4 times in our own territory. Our offensive gameplan failed us in the Purdue game. BYU game....Sure, but first game of the season in a brand new system, things were bound to break down. Miami...Ok. Yeah. TA ultimately did throw the last YOLO pick though. Purdue had 100 more yards against us than their season average. We gave up 55 points to them. You can't say that the D did not fail against Purdue. Yes...the magical Purdue game lives on!

I think this is the problem I would definitely say it's troubling. The numbers are there to show the mediocrity of Banker's D. His only saving grace is that he was obviously playing with much lower talent levels. IMO, if we aren't dramatically improved by year 3, even if the rest of the team is, he has to go. I could see Banker putting in 3 more years...he will have made over 1.5 million he will be set for life and I could see Riley moving him into another new (Errrr made up) role in the football offices. We see this sort of thing with coaching too...everyone knows exactly what play to call and which kid to recruit. Everyone else is the "expert"

Bo rarely won the big games, frequently was annihilated in them, and won the games he was supposed to. It's a hypothetical, I want to win them all but given the choice of going 9-3, I'd rather do it winning a big game or two. I think some of it has to do with who the the losses are... Maybe if we look at it like this, say Wyoming goes 1-11 and the one win is against Nebraska...OSU goes 11-1 with the one loss against NU... Hell I don't know...I just want them to win them all!

Butterfly effect. We don't know anything about the consequences of all those people whose flight was delayed. And this ending was the absolute best-case scenario. Had the man been someone less prestigious or less convincing, or had he or the lady or others who 'Saw Something' acted more assertively, the outcome could have been different. What's new is that we can expect much more of this, especially if Trump becomes president. It's very easy for ignorant or just outright incompetent people to disrupt the lives of others. Or can we just say that the goal is to get to the CFP regardless of the record? I think the betting line has/plays a part...
