  1. On HI Radio it seems as though he is they only real question mark on coming in. FREE HI Radio Link
  2. I think they are getting stiff comp from UF.
  3. raping children negates all talent at any time. While I know there are those who did not like him, you cannot question his impact on the music industry and history. But I am not going to argue with you nor anyone else who want to turn this into a MJ bash fest. Like someone said before "karma is a bitch," and no good can come from disrespecting the dead.
  4. USC already has three rb-commits and those three make-up 3/4 of USC's rb-offers. I'd bet an offer from USC would be pretty hard to get now. USC offered him today. What do you think now? Take a chill-pill. I was just surprised USC would take four rb's in a class(even for a program that runs rb by committee that is a lot), and if they did they did they'd be VERY selective with that last rb-slot. For some reason I think they are offering him as a DB. He looks more natural at that position than RB on the video I saw. But then again I could be wrong.
  5. JUNE 26, 2009. PREP STAR DERRON SMITH, CB, 5-11, 175, 4.5, BANNING, CALIFORNIA Derron has offers from Nebraska, San Diego State, UNLV and New Mexico. Weekend Trip To Washington “I’m going to Washington this weekend” says Smith, “I talked to Martin and he said if I go up there and do what I’m supposed to do I’ll be good and should have an offer. Coach Martin is really excited about me coming up there he can’t wait. He wants to show me off to all the coaches and maybe get an offer out there. That’s what I’m hoping for.” “I like Washington it seems like Coach Sarkisian is getting it right. I haven’t been up there yet that’s why I’m going up there for the camp and talk to the coaches.” Smith said Husker Offer A Shocker “I was shocked to get an offer from them (Nebraska). My parents were shocked too, they are proud of me.” Smith said, “Nebraska came down by my school last two months ago and looked at my film, talked to my coach and a week later they offered me.” “I was getting a letter from Coach Bo and Coach Carl (Pelini) every other day now I get one once a week. I’ve talked to Carl Pelini by e-mail a little bit. I’m going to try to make there (Nebraska) this summer before it gets cold.” Smith said “Nebraska has great tradition,” Smith said, “They have a lot of Academic All-American’s, I like that and they have a very big fan base.” San Diego State First Offer “I was surprised to get an offer from them (San Diego State). It was my first offer. When I talked to coach Rocky Long he looked at my film and liked it and the head coach (Hoke) liked my film too and decided to offer me.” “I’ve been to San Diego State they have a nice campus, the coaches are upbeat for practices and they have nice facilities. I like them quite a bit.” Smith said “Last week a few of my buddies on my football team went to San Diego State for a full contact camp. I went down with them just to watch and talk to the coaches again and look at the campus.” Smith said “I’ve been out to Vegas for the Badger Sports 7 on 7 but I haven’t been to the campus that much. I might visit UNLV it depends on the other schools that come in the picture then decide what schools I want to take officials too. The closer schools I will take unofficials.” Smith said UCLA Might Offer “I went to UCLA spring game it was a great experience.” Smith said, “I’ve been there before for junior days. They have a nice campus, the coaches are cool and I got to watch a little bit of practice.” “UCLA didn’t say if they would offer. I talked to coach Moses and they want to see how I do my senior year. They seem like they (UCLA) are pretty much interested.” Smith added “Arizona State day camp was great. I got to see the campus a little bit. Actually I was surprised with all their practice facilities, indoor facilities. Arizona State has all their medical staff in the stadium. Arizona State coaches said they will look at my senior year film to see if I get an offer later.” Smith said “I went to USC one day camp it was nice,” says Smith, “We got to practice on the practice field. All the coaches were there and I got to talk to them. USC like UCLA said they wanted to wait to see how I do my senior year. I like USC it’s like Nebraska a lot of tradition.” The Right Fit “Early playing time is not number one on my list,” says Smith, “I’m looking for a nice university, good coaches that I feel home with. Somewhere I can see myself for four or five years. Academics is important to me, almost every Division I school in the Big 10, Big 12 have good academics.” “Most likely I’ll take all my five officials unless something drastic happens with a school that blows me away and I feel that’s the place. My parents will go with me on all my visits. I don’t have a leader at this point. I would say all the schools that offered me have the early edge.” Smith said What The Coaches Are Saying “They like my knowledge of the game. They say I have good feet, quickness, ball skills and a sure tackler.” Smith said Husker Journal Link
  6. Do you know what position we are recruiting him for?
  7. he definitely was the greatest. hopefully he found peace.
  8. On rivals it says he has listed his leader, does anyone know who it is?
  9. On Rivals it says that ND is going after two QBs, so this may not be over.
  10. Fehoko makes big first impression Under Armour All-American LB even better than expected Comment Email Print Share Conley By Bill Conley Scouts Inc. Archive BOUNTIFUL, Utah -- With talent from Utah, the West Coast and the Hawaiian islands all flocking to the All-Poly Camp, it's easy to see why this has grown into one of the most popular and successful events. Despite many of the region's top recruits on the field at Bountiful High School, it didn't take long to pick out one of the premier athletes at this year's camp. After just a few agility drills it was easy to see that Under Armour All-American LB V.J. Fehoko (Honolulu, HI/ Farrington) is a special player. He is extremely agile and much more fluid in his movements than anticipated. Fehoko's feet barely touched the ground as he moved over and through the bags, and when he dropped his hips to change direction. At 5-foot-11, 215 pounds, he might not be the biggest linebacker in the country, but it would be tough to find one with the same athleticism and skill level. [+] EnlargeV.J. Fehoko JC ShurburttUnder Armour All-American LB V.J. Fehoko stood out among a talented field at the All-Poly Camp. Fehoko is one of those players who has trouble practicing at thud tempo. Dialing it down just isn't a natural reaction. Even though the teams were just timing up, Fehoko was ready to play. He attacked the first inside run and the crack of the pads on the form tackle echoed throughout the stadium. At the urging of the coaches, he did tone things down, but this guy takes his football seriously. Fehoko was precise in his reads and his movements on every play. He has been coached so well that his reactions and fundamentals are now natural. The little things like not crossing your feet when you shuffle and not taking a false step as you attack the line of scrimmage are instinctive to him. Fehoko proved in the first day of the All-Poly Camp that he is the same intense and high-motor football player who shows up on film. He never quits until the play is over, and he is usually the guy making the play. He is good on the blitz, as his timing and quick first step make him difficult for any offensive lineman or running back to pick up. As aggressive as he is against the run and when blitzing, he can also be a solid under coverage pass defender. He shows the ability to snap the hips open on pass read and immediately get the proper depth to cover the middle hook zones. It is no accident that this guy loves the game. He's from a family of football players, including brothers, uncles and cousins like Class of 2009 No. 1 LB and No. 2 overall recruit Manti Te'o, who signed with Notre Dame in February. Just like Te'o, Fehoko can pretty well pick the school of his choice, with nearly 20 Division I offers already going into his senior season. Maybe the greatest thing about Fehoko is the fact he is just as good a person off the field as he is on it. He has the personality and leadership qualities coaches love to see. Fehoko has great family support and works hard to uphold the family pride and tradition. This is reflected in the fact that he is also an outstanding student with a 3.6 GPA and is considering pre-law as his college major. Like most talented athletes he would like to play early at the next level, but Fehoko is mature enough to understand that the college game is different. He knows the complexity of the game increases at each level of competition and that to reach the goals he aspires to will not be easy. There are no sure bets in athletics in terms of a player being a difference-maker, but the odds are heavily in favor of Fehoko going a long way. Link
  11. Are you tring to get the Huskers an NCAA violation you are not to contact possible recruits. Even if he is a recruit, I don’t see how contacting a guy via myspace can result in any penalty to the AD. The point of that site is to be able to find, talk and make friends with people from all over. Can’t blame a fan for contacting a recruit, when the recruit is putting himself out there. it's a violation read the rules at the top of the forum. i'll even make it easy Message from the Nebraska Athletic Department Compliance Staff: On behalf of the University of Nebraska student-athletes, we are so thankful to have your support as we continue to build championship teams in every sport. Because of the ease in which people communicate online with each other today, we thought an educational message is appropriate to clear up any confusion that exists about contacting recruits. NCAA rules and regulations are complex to say the least, but one area that is completely straightforward is fan communication with recruits. If any fans, boosters, alumni (or any other supporters) of Nebraska has any contact (e.g., in-person, instant message, text message, e-mail, fax, etc.) whatsoever with a recruit there are could be serious consequences such as: The University of Nebraska would have an NCAA violation to report to the NCAA enforcement staff; The recruit would become ineligible to participate in athletics at Nebraska, and before any of our coaches could continue to contact the recruit, we would have to rule him/her ineligible and then seek reinstatement through the NCAA office; and The fan/booster/alumni involved could jeopardize their standing with the University of Nebraska athletic department. We know that fans of Nebraska are the most dedicated and supportive in the country so please if you have any questions about NCAA rules, contact our office at anytime at 402.472.2042 or e-mail compliance@huskers.com Thank you for helping Nebraska Athletics stand by our building blocks of TRADITION, TEAMWORK, and INTEGRITY. Josh White Director of Compliance University of Nebraska Yea, you aren't suppose to contact recruits and I know this can be an exciting process leave it up to Bo & Co to get the nitty gritty on these kids. That is why he gets paid the big bucks. But what Bosnian did is little in comparison to how many problems Coach Richt cold get into if the NCAA finds this (hopefully for him it is not true). This story is spreading quickly on a LSU board.
  12. I know he is listed as a DE, but are we recruiting him as a DT? Definately has the size.
  13. Reported final four are: Auburn, LSU, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame.
  14. JUNE 24, 2009. PREP STAR DIAMONTE WHEELER, DL, 6-2, 255, 5, ARLINGTON (BOWIE), TEXAS “The top schools that I like right now are Nebraska, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Kansas and Kansas State.” Wheeler said “I like coach Beck (Nebraska) and J P (Papuchis) they are real cool coaches. I feel like I have a good connection with them if I choose to go to Nebraska.” Wheeler said Play Freshman Year At Nebraska “Coach Beck is a real cool coach when talking to him on the phone he is down to earth. Both Beck and JP said I could come in and contribute as a freshman because they feel I can play with hard work.” Wheeler said “I like Nebraska’s tradition,” says Wheeler, “I like how Bo Pelini he’s a defensive type of guy. It’s good to have a head coach that plays defense. I haven’t been to Nebraska; I might make it there next month.” Recent Visits To Oklahoma State “I went to Oklahoma State for junior days and the spring game. Spring game atmosphere was pretty cool there were a lot of people. More people you would think for a spring game. I talked to Coach Gundy at junior days in his office and he told me I have a full scholarship. Oklahoma State wants me to come in and play early, they said I’m a pretty good player.” Oklahoma State Is The Leader “I like coach Meacham and coach Gundy they are cool coaches. They make me feel wanted when I went down there that was a good feeling. Oklahoma State is recruiting me the hardest and they are my leader right now.” Wheeler added “I like Oklahoma State’s defense because it’s similar what we run at high school. Some of the plays are similar too. Nebraska’s defense is more pro style, upscale I like that because it gets you ready for anything.” Wheeler said “Kansas State is a good school I just talked to coach Mo Latimore the defensive line coach he is a real cool coach. Coach said I would play on defense start as a freshman and he wanted an opportunity to coach me.” Wheeler said Rebuilding Process A Problem At K-State “Not really because It makes me want to go in and make an impact. Having a new coach he’s trying to bring the program back. I wouldn’t have a problem with an upcoming team.” Wheeler said “I haven’t been to Texas Tech yet but I like the coaches there. I was planning to come down (Lubbock) sometime next month. I like Coach Mc Neil, I like how he came down and told me I have a full scholarship to my face at me at one of my practices.” Wheeler said Kansas Trip Went Well “I’ve been to Kansas,” says Wheeler, “I like everything there the facilities, scenery, coach Sims and Beaty the defensive line coach. Coach Mangino is a cool coach he talked to me at the spring game with Donovan (Vestal) how he wanted us to play for him.” “Kansas is recruiting me as a three technique but I play a three and a one. I’m quick on the outside. I think they (Kansas) prefer me to play the three.” Wheeler added “I do want to go somewhere I can play early but If It doesn’t work out that way it wouldn’t be a problem but I do want to play my freshman year. I want to major in business and marketing. I want to go to a top business school.” Wheeler said HuskerJournal Link
  15. It seems as though there are some high hopes for some of our incoming def. players (link) 3. Sean Fisher, OLB, Nebraska: Of all the young linebackers Nebraska is stockpiling, Fisher should be the safest bet to start this fall. A 6-6, 230-pound redshirt freshman, Fisher figures to form one half of the two-backer schemes the Huskers will roll out against spread formations. Fellow redshirt freshman Will Compton will be in the mix for a starting job, too. “It’s a young group right now, but in saying that, it’s got to become an old group by the time the season starts,” Nebraska linebackers coach Mike Ekeler told the Lincoln Journal Star. “Young is not in our vocabulary. There will be no excuses. We’ve got to go out there and we’ve got to play as good as any linebacker corps in the country.”
  16. CB Urell Johnson discovers cousin connection with assistant Wilson By Josh Ward (Contact) Originally published 06:02 p.m., June 20, 2009 Updated 06:09 p.m., June 20, 2009 Get Copyright Permissions Want to use this article? Click here for options! Urell Johnson didn't know he would run into a family member in Knoxville this weekend. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound cornerback from O. Perry Walker High School in New Orleans took part in UT's summer camp, which started Thursday and concluded Saturday. Johnson, who has a scholarship offer from the Vols, has already developed a relationship with UT receivers coach Frank Wilson, who used to be the coach at O. Perry Walker. Johnson said he discovered this weekend that he and Wilson are actually cousins. "We were talking and family names came up and we found that out (Friday)," Johnson said. "I was shocked but I've been knowing him for a long time." Johnson didn't know much about UT until he made his first trip this weekend. He said he was impressed with the atmosphere surrounding the program. "They're nice coaches and it's a nice campus," he said. "I'd love to play for them one day." One of Johnson's teammates already plans to play for UT. Defensive end Anthony Johnson (no relation) has already committed to the Vols for the 2011 signing class. Urell Johnson said he’s heard plenty about UT from Anthony. “It’s his dream team right here,” Urell Johnson said. “He really wants me to come up here with him. We’ll just keep working hard and see how things work out.” Johnson said he wants to take his time before he commits. He said he'll likely make a decision soon after his senior season. Johnson also has scholarship offers from LSU, Virginia, Texas Tech, Nebraska and Kansas State. "I'm pretty open-minded right now," he said. (Link)
  17. I think we still have a chance. If Lee performs, which I think he will, he will be starting for 2010. After that year we are going to lose both Lee and Washington. That leaves us Spano, Green, and Gabbert . If one of them leave because they did not get the starting position we only have 2 QBs. (I don't think QB is the position for Martinez and he will probably make his way to another position).
  18. We are still in this JUNE 21, 2009. PREP STAR SEAN ROBINSON, QB, 6-5, 205, 4.6, ROCHESTER, ILLINOIS “I haven’t narrowed it down. All the smaller schools I’ve kind of weeded thru, but the Big 12, Big 10 all those schools are still in it.” Robinson said Nebraska’s Offer Still OnThe Table “Nebraska is still in it,” says Robinson, “They are still recruiting me. I was there the other day when that kid (Gabbert) got in there. So I sat down with Bo that day and talked about it and my offer is still on the table.” Robinson said “Nebraska is still recruiting me as a quarterback. We talked about it (other positions), but my offer as a quarterback is where it stands. Coach Sean Watson is my recruiter I talk to him quite a bit.” Robinson said “Nebraska is the real deal,” Robinson said, “It’s a football state, they love it up there. I like the coaches, facilities and the stadium is unbelievable. It’s really a cool place.” Northwestern Staff Loyal “I like Northwestern their coaching staff is awesome. All the coaches are loyal people and they are right there for the right reasons. I really liked it up there a lot.” Robinson said “Northwestern has offered me as a wide receiver. That’s why I’m going to throw up there soon to see if they like me as a quarterback. I would love to play quarterback but I’m looking to play college football where ever that is.” Robinson added “I like Purdue,” says Robinson, “Coach Nord the new offensive coordinator sat down with me and I liked him a lot. I learned a lot of good stuff from him. Purdue has good tradition and they play some good football. Their facilities are pretty good everything is big. It was nice.” High Marks For Iowa “Iowa is also nice. The stadium is awesome it holds about 80 thousand. It’s a pretty cool place. The weight room is nice. I know they have Coach Doyle (strength and conditioning) up there. Coach Ferentz is a great coach too he’s up there with Joe Paterno and soon to be one and he’s a real cool guy, it’s about good as it gets”. “I don’t have an offer from Notre Dame,” says Robinson, “I’m going June 27 for a 7 on 7 camp. They want to see me throw before they offer. They (Notre Dame) have a quarterback commit but they want to take another one. We’ll see what happens.” Notre Dame Might Offer “I do like Notre Dame. I’ve been up there every year since my freshman year. I played in their stadium my sophomore year for the 7 on 7 championship game. I was a wide receiver then.” Robinson said “If Notre Dame offered me they would be up there with the upper group. I really don’t have any standout leaders. I don’t know the coaching staff at Notre Dame that well. It would take time to get to know them.” Robinson “I’m not sure when I will commit,” Robinson said, “I would like to get it done before the football season. I don’t know if I will take any officials.” “I want to go to school where I feel comfortable with and a good fit for me and my family. My family doesn’t care where I go but they do have their say.” Robinson said PLEASE CHECK OUT THESE LINKS!
  19. Highlights of his teams game. I believe he is #7.
  20. We are out of it according to espn. Under Armour All-America linebacker Corey Nelson (Dallas/Skyline) is focused on five schools right now. "The five are Oklahoma, Texas, LSU, Texas A&M and Stanford, in no particular order," Skyline recruiting coordinator and defensive backs coach R.J. Bonds said. "Just on the outside looking in, we have Oregon, Tennessee, Miami (Fla.), North Carolina and Oklahoma State." Nelson has made unofficial visits to Norman, Austin and College Station. He could visit Baton Rouge later this summer and plans to head to Palo Alto officially. Bonds offered a sneak peek at the next steps in the decision process for Nelson. The trip to LSU will be his last summer visit, then it's off to the schools in the mix on game day. "Basically all schools are the same during the summer," Bonds said. "There are no students there, and it's dead. There are players there just working out and that's it. A player needs to experience that Saturday atmosphere, everything from the pregame meetings to the atmosphere at the game. They may find that special thing about that school and decide." For Nelson, academics will mean a lot in his decision. Bonds said that Texas A&M and Stanford have strong selling points there, but that with Oklahoma, LSU and Texas' on-field success that they were just as strong (and it's not like any of those three schools have a bad academic reputation). "I really don't think he has any bad choices here," he said. Link
  21. I was thinking the same thing about him being a halfback. I have feeling the are recruiting mobley for the same position. Hopefully this means we are going to see Reed in action this year.
