I thought I could find an earlier posting on Martinez's health for this week...unsuccessful. Does anyone know his "official status" for this tomorrow game? I know he is 100% but I want Pelini saying that he is back to the old Martinez!

This is getting old BCS game(any) > cotton bowl!!! I dont know why people think that if we lose we are an automatic in the Cotton bowl. Yes, I know that they get the first pick of BIG 12 teams, but why would they take Nebraska if we were just in Dallas a month ago? With bowls, it is about selling tickets and money... you can look at record but these bowls can take any team they please.

I will be going with my group, +3 and then i know of 90+ people going (all the Houston 4 huskers members that bought tickets. Cash parking I hear might fill up fast. Also heard that all the Frats and Sororities are on suspension for alcohol related violations. The "atmosphere" could be kinda tame if those guys cant tailgate like they are used to.

Surprised no one attacked the It's cold here deal. I am sure it is way colder in Nebraska than it is in Texas. I am in Houston and it is 70 degrees out, yesterday the high was 60. NOT COLD, sry Aggiegal2005. Cold is when you walk outside and your face freezes off, snot turns to ice on you lip. Nebraska is cold, not Texas! oh yea, we are excited about the big 10, you have fun trying to get that $20 million from Texas in the Texas 10! I bet within 3 years your in the SEC conference.

I assume your thinking about NU still being able to go to the ship? NU will not be going, let's just get into a BCS and then win that. TCU, Boise St. and/or Auburn Oregon will go undefeated, plus we have several 1 lose teams to jump. Just to much in a year when we lost to a horrible Texas team. Going to a BCS game was my goal for this team for this year, anything above that would have been bonus points in my book.

BCS game > than any non-BCS game by far! Plus the Cotton bowl takes the an SEC team in general regardless of ranking. Cotton Jan. 7 Arlington 8 p.m. Big 12 No. 2 vs. SEC Oklahoma State vs. LSU In the above example The Cotton bowl is granted the second pick of the BIG 12. Please do not confuse the number behind the conference to mean a ranking, it is the order in which the bowl conferences can pick a team. Bowls can take whomever they want in a bowl game as long as that team is still on the board. "other than there is no prestige for winning a cotton bowl, i would rather play i think its the 3rd ranked team of that confrence? which as it sits right now i think would be alabama. that could be an epic game compared to a crappy big east team. because we have nothing to gain really. its a game we should win, but if we lose its epic and doesnt give us momentum into the next season" Also, why would Nebraska want to go back to Dallas when we were just there a month earlier. I live in Houston and am up for seeing the team when they come close to my city but I think the Cotton selection committee goes in a different direction than Nebraska. For what it is worth, the Alamo bowl has the 3rd pick of Big 12 teams where NU is like 5-0! San Antonio > Dallas by far! It wont matter cause I plan on this team going to the Fiesta!

True, great fans very small town. Bryan is not a "nice" as College Station so you will want to stay in college station. Expensive to park and plan to walk a lot. Huge campus. Hotels are sporadic and there is nothing larger than a holiday inn express type motel. Bars are in one section next to campus, impossible to park in that area (at night) and it might be to far to walk from/to Klye field. (depending on your age) I am going, waiting on game time announcement before thinking about lodging since I only live like an hour and a half away. Rudy's BBQ is a must hit when in college station.

Would this by chance be you? Yes, that is me getting ripped a new one by a corp member who hit another fan over the head with his sword (other dude had to have stitches). What is not in the photo is what happened beforehand and why I am on the ground trying to get up. Not a moment I brag to much about while in Houston. Funny thing was that after I took my first job after college in 2006 a month later my boss's brother (works with us) found that picture and several other stories and was very curious about the experience. edit: can not believe this picture is still accessible on the internet.

Only thing close to this was when I and a couple others "stormed" the A&M field in 2002 in a drunk fueled bender. Got tackled/assaulted by a corp member, got in the OWH, Omaha late news, A&M student newspaper. Some NU school detective came to my frat to speak with me, confiscated my video of the event and asked if I wanted to press charges. (declined that) After the initial "run" and some of the players helping me out of that jam some A&M coach picked me out and said I started it all. Had 1 hand in cuffs before they decided to release me to my family standing about 2 feet away. The unwritten rule is that A&M grass is sacred stuff and no one can stand on it. (IMO-bunch of BS since I have never heard that crap until that night) Got lucky that I did not have to spend the night in jail like my other buddy for bringing in booze to the game. Unfortunatley, for him we had to leave for Houston and he had to stay in Bryan(ghetto part of College Station). This event did not repeat in 2006 (we did take a group picture after the game though on the grass!) and I have no plans of repeating that in 2010.

This game is so very important to us at this moment! I predict a 14+ point win but if we lose we will have to start praying/hoping whatever it is you do cause we are going to be in a world of hurt. We will have 2 big 12 losses and Mizzou, say they beat OU will have none. If we beat Mizzou we will need for them to lose another game in order for us to play in the big 12 ship. If they lose, then next week will spell out who will most likely go to the ship. A&M is the only other game I see that could be trouble, that is from a crowd/fan view not from the players (talent) on that team. These next 2 weeks are critical for our program this season and into the off-season. So husker fans going to stinkwater, be loud and make sure the Huskers come out with a victory!!!

Not sure of the orientation of the stadium but Weather.com is predicating a windy day for Sat. with potential for rain tomorrow and late sat. evening. edit- unfortunately, they do not have the speed up yet or direction but this could play a factor in the kicking game just like last weekend.
