  1. I don't think they were ever there for Scott because he did a lousy job from day one. People just refused to acknowledge it because it was Scott and they adored him. I don't think Rhule is doing anywhere near as lousy a job. And this is coming from someone who didn't think Rhule was the best available coach when he was hired.
  2. How does this make any sense ? How does taking over a 4-win team and doing some nice thing with it equate to 2-3 wins?
  3. Trying to figure out a good reason we don't start 4-0. Minnesota won't have Ibrahim anymore and Colorado, Northern Illinois, and LA Tech were all worse than Nebraska last season.
  4. Trev is really trying to tie Rhule to the 1990s. Let's have a roundtable with Dr. Tom. Let's honor Solich during Rhule's first spring game.
  5. See it's working. So many of us want to go more than we did yesterday.
  6. If a fullback sees his shadow during the spring game, expect at least 6 wins this fall.
  7. This was a really good interview. Would recommend.
  8. Really? I wasn't too familiar with Pedro Pascal but I thought he was just doing a really good Joel impersonation for the show. Surprised to learn that's just his voice. I thought the whole thing felt rushed. I always thought they could get 2 or 3 seasons out of it. The 2nd game's story wasn't as good, in my opinion. I kind of hope they do some things differently.
  9. Which runningbacks had a better game that year?
  10. It's interesting Rhule continues to mention Gabe Ervin first and foremost when asked about the runningback room.
  11. That's about it. That one game. But that's about it for any back we've had since Ozigbo. Maybe Grant's performances against similar competition. It's not like smaller guys have been stepping up much either.
  12. I bet we would have been more successful these last 20 years if it was.
  13. It was reasonable to wonder why Yant wasn't getting more carries after giving a struggling offense a spark. I think it was because he did well when he did get carries and not because he was big.
  14. The NFL tends to have a big-back infatuation too. For example, only 3 guys hit 1,500 yards last season. All 3 guys are 220+. Derrick Henry is closer to 250. Do you think the league's infatuation is because of some Nebraska sports writer they never heard of, or is it because bigger, stronger, faster guys tend to be more successful at the position?
  15. We need to get all of our not-so-great passers to start doing that.
  16. That's the thing with wanting do what everyone else does, sure the good teams do it, but so do all the bad teams. At least we'll never have to hear about that stupid "Duck-R" position ever again.
  17. If not having a fullback is something that helps you win games, it should have worked during the Frost era.
  18. Could be. I'm preparing for the possibility that both he and Grant flake out this season. If anyone emerges, Ervin seems by far the most likely at this point, based on Rhule's comments.
  19. And he did have a really nice career, to be honest. Vastly exceeded my expectations anyway.
  20. It's because he didn't want to play safety. If he would have refused TE also, he probably would have been cut after his rookie year and we would have never heard from him again.
