  1. The game next Thursday means little to those who are not fans of Nebraska or Misery. Our national image will not improve with a win, because neither team has done much recently (besides winning 1/2 the Big12 conference and getting pasted by top tier teams). That being said, I hope we kick the livin' $hit outta Misery in 6 days!
  2. I'd be pissed too...that's a pretty $hitty thing to do for any fans (no pun intended). "2 heaping, stinking piles of man crap"...
  3. It's like getting caught riding mopeds and fat chicks...Once someone has seen you do it, there's no turning back! And now we all know a little TOO much about BigRedNV's nightlife. What happens in Reno, stays in Reno...until you've confessed publicly on a message board. :-)

  5. Congrats on the win. That was 9 years ago. YOU DO MATH TOO!?!?!?!? Did you have to take off your pants to count that high? Note: I did say "Last time my Tigers played Mizzou." I can't help we don't play yall more. Probably won't for awhile. There is a movement to quit scheduling patsies. So that movement starts next year then?
  6. Your overlooking something. The game had NEVADA in it. U of N is in RENO. Lines are created to generate equal betting, not predict scores. SO what fan base to you think has a easier time placing bets. Ones that bet illegally through bookies across the country. Or ones that walk across the street to their sports book?? To some degree that is accurate with regards spreads equalizing betting, but the lines that are posted at the beginning of the week have non-biased experts predicting that a team will beat another team by "X" amount of points - NV vs MU opened at 7.5 (experts said that MU would beat NV by just over a TD). Throughout the week, there was a lot of betting on Mizzue so they raised the spread to get people to bet the other way (gametime it was at 8.5). I don't see how the fact that the game was in NEVADA has anything to do with it, unless you are implying that there is a lot of team loyalty so people would bet heavily toward NV. I'd guess that the majority of the people betting in Nevada either weren't from here and or don't live here so they could care less about any NV team. The loyalty toward the hometown Nevada Wolfpack was not apparent in the Mizzue game due to the fact that 18,000 people filled a stadium that holds almost twice as many people (that crowd was actually large in comparison to most). Here's the scoop: Mizz played a weak non-BCS team on the road who had lost by an average of 25 points in its first two games, yet Missoo was only picked to win by just over a TD (history was also not taken into consideration by the experts being that MU beat them at home last year by what, 52 points? I don't see the home field advantage in COMO being almost 45 points).
  7. I'm sure you are right - Bet big on Nebraska!
  8. I say we ditch the poles, take the champions from each BCS conference, throw in a couple others and duke it out in the playoffs. Until then (bascially never because $$ guides the BCS), the polls are all we have to determine where we are at on a week to week basis. By looking at the current polls, I think its safe to say that they'll drastically change when its all said and done.
  9. Here is a complete list for you of major bowl game wins, conference championships and National Titles won by Mizzou football in the last 40 years: 1. ___________________ . Any questions? Crap, my browser isn't working...can't see what's on the line next to #1. Well, allow me to be of service, my good sir. Next to the #1 there is nothing listed. Nothing at all. It's a blank line. And that's because our good friends down south-away haven't won squat by way of major bowl wins, conference titles and/or national titles. In 40 years. And yet the mouths run and run and run from some fans. You'd think they'd take some clue from the classier guys like Fro, but no. It's all good, though. We're well on our way to stealing Fro from those potzers and making him really truly a Husker fan. Wait! You can't forget to list that they have been champions of 1/2 the conference for the last couple of years which is something that they are very proud of over on Tigerboard.
  10. I don't know about buying tix after the Mizz game just (reminds me of Misery fans the last couple of years talking about buying National Championship Game tix during the season - I'm sure there were some who did). On another note, I hope Jerry lines up the Pole Dancers for the Big 12 Championship game like he has for the Cowboys!
  11. Nebraska will more than likely NOT be in a BCS bowl with a loss in the B12 CCG if they make it to the game. On another note, Boise St. being in the top 5 is a joke. The remainder of their schedule does not have anyone even remotely considered in the top 25. They'll cruise through the WAC with some ridiculous numbers and more than likely get to a BCS game, but not the big one.
  12. While the internet age may be new with regards to the history of the Huskers, it allows for fans like me to talk Husker ball while living 1,000+ miles away from the great state of Nebraska! Experience "The Good Life" via the Huskerboard!
  13. Why so confident? You have some nice things going, but you haven't faced a competent passing attack yet. Nobody even in the top 60 in passing. Mizzou is top 20. Stats at this point are worthless. Especially considering the non-con games that have been played. I think its safe to say Nebraska has had its "test" against VT, but Mizue has not had anything close. Based upon what has happened through 4 weeks (THIS YEAR), I see Nebraska winning by a TD or more.
  14. Big hokie win = A Nebraska team thats pretty damn good!!!! It only gets better in the weeks leading up to Misery!
  15. Mizzou -4.5 Pretty bold considering that Mizzue was favored by 7.5 against NV, who up until that game had lost by an average of 25 pts against their two previous opponents.
  16. Defense gets the ball - first shutout since '06!!!!
  17. Welcome, you picked a great time to join 'cuz it's looking to be a fun couple of weeks leading up to the Misery game!
  18. The game is 11 days away, but let's speculate on a couple things. Where will the 'Skers and Tigs be ranked come Monday? Current polls have NU at #25 in AP and #24 in coaches, MU is not ranked in the AP and #21 in coaches. I see Nebraska moving in to the top 20 (probably 18 or 19) following their win with VT helping out. Mizz will break in to the top #25 in the AP, but will not move up much in the coaches poll following their win against NV (guessing that NE will pass them - or should pass them). Second thought - What will the Nebraska vs MU spread be? Based on the play of both teams and the outcome of their opponents games over the first few weeks, I see NU picked to win the game. The thought is that home field is worth 3 points so I'll say NE is picked to win by 6 1/2.
  19. What was the deal with Asante? Couldn't figure during the game if his injury happened during the play or from the celebration after. He looked to be in a lot of pain following the play.
  20. There is no doubt that Nebraska is the best team in the North. Regardless of our "sunbelt title" we took it to every team on the schedule. The VT game today adds to the fact that Nebraska is a team to be reckoned with. While the conference schedule has not started yet, I don't see any other teams stacking up as well as Nebraska against their non-con schedule. Can't wait until the game in two weeks!!!! GBR!!!!!
  21. I honestly had VT losing by a couple TD's today, but they were pretty impressive. Thanks for making Nebraska look that much better after your game! Good luck with the rest of the season.
