  1. And....what do you think your TV revenues are going to be when TU starts their Bevo Network? Enjoy it while you can, because the network that shows Big 12 games will have a hard time selling advertising when nobody in Texas will be watching. There's no doubt we did the right thing academically. And in some ways I'm happy that the poor sisters of our former conference got thrown a bone. On the other hand, had we known this is the outcome we got hosed to pay a big buy in and like it or now we owe a big settlement that we agreed to pay the conference we are leaving. I am sure the Big 10 thought that all the Big 12 would break up since Texas said we were the only team they cared about leaving. Looks like Texas played the Big 10 and was happy to get rid of NU to have more money. Unfortunately the weak sisters are going to get a lot more money than we did from the Big 12 and more than we get for several years buying into the Big 10 and paying off the Big 12. Over time I think we are in good shape. But it is not the slam dunk it was when the Big 12 was disintegrating. Any Husker has to worry about our ability to recruit in Texas with the Big 12 in tact and all the teams playing in Texas much of the time. We are likely to have slim pickins in the Lone Star State and have to compete in the Big 10 states for athletes. I thought also if KU and Misery went to the Mountain West we would have much more advantage in the KC area and Misery in general. Now that is not going to happen. Now if this still breaks down and the Big 12 is no more, we have it made. We still have it made academically and students to come will be thankful that they are in a Big 10 elite school. But with the wash in money and what I see is diminished ability to attract texas/Missouri athletes, I am not so sure that from an athletic standpoint the move is going to be as great as at first blush. We made the move--make the most of it. GBR
  2. Though in the past this was a great traditional game BECAUSE it was a game we had to play in our conference, those days are long gone. While homer fans are thinking of course of the thrill of beating OU, they are not taking into account a likely every other year loss (if not more frequently) in this current environment. With all of the big time FB schools in the Big 10 we will be joining, we don't need to look OOC for a 'challenge'. We haven't dominated Misery lately, let's start there, try to beat the biggies out east and not pretend that we are better than we are. NCs are played by undefeated teams. Adding an OOC opponent, perennially among the top 10 and possessing a better recruiting base recently than NU, is bad for a program just now getting back on track.
  3. I agree. Against good teams we more than struggeled on offense. There is no reason for a top tier running back to commit until the talk of improvement is demonstrated on the field. Green is not the sort of recuit that wants to be surrounded by players who are not capable of showcasing his ability. If we don't look good on offense in conference play next year I would doubt that all of the connections we have with the young man matter, he will go elsewhere with the NFL his prime goal. To close the deal it's all on the "O". If we don't play well on that side of the ball, we'd be better to branch out to other possible RBs and forget about a signing day committment. For us, his late decision is the only way I think we stand a chance of signing him...after we show him vast improvement.
  4. Let's not get carried away. There are reasons unrelated to any love of this staff by recruits or any guaranteed long term effect. There are basically 3 things that make the difference this year compared to the previous two. 1) SUH--the most dominant player in several years was N and should have been the number 1 pro pick. Rightly or wrongly many prospects see the current staff as responsible for Suh. 2) Success -- the first year we have played in the league championship in a while and we ended the regular season well. We destroyed our bowl opponent 3) We are ranked well-most hve us in the preseaon top ten. That may or may not be justified based on our returning personel. Nevertheless until the hype is proven one way or the other many prospects see us as an emerging power in the Big 12 whereas previously we were seen as a formerly good team in decline. The problem is that before any of these kids sign a LOI, we will have to prove the perceptions of items 2 and 3 on the field. If we flounder, some of these commits will reconsider and some that we hope to get will pass us by. Kids outside Nebraska don't give a fig about what NU did in the 90s. They are looking at playing time on a contender. We have a good start and a good story right now; before we get too giddy; we have to prove it on the field, win the North and go to a BCS game. Anything less and we won't be signing the kids we hope will come to Lincoln.

    Rodney Coe

If we tell a kid with his size and speed who has his heart set on playing running back and is being recruited by much more productive offensively teams than the Big Red, that we are looking at him for linebacker or safety...fuggitaboutit. It is a very long shot even if we were recruiting him at RB, at this point unless he waits late in the game to sign and we do develope a potent rushing game that is a part of a very good offense. Otherwise he's going somewhere else.
  6. While I hope that the young man uses the logic on the thread, it is something of a longshot. We have not shown any competence on offense in a while. We hope that changes dramatically yet for all the talk about a power rushing offense, it's to this point just that. Up to this point we are a spread team that lacks an identity on offense. Our defense wins the games that our offense doesn't give away. Do we hope an think that will change this year; you bet. But the young man will likely have some doubts. If he doesn't commit until fall; it is possible we can prove our running game that will showcase his talents in games. If he is going to commit off what the teams have done that are offering him; he's not going to be N. I'd say Oklahoma has the best shot since he seems to see himself as Adrian Petersen. At least we have an "in" with Green having his brother on the roster. Snagging Coe is a long shot and may prevent us from getting Green. It seems he doesn't want to play linebacker so though I hope he falls in love with us on Monday, I don't think he's a likely commit unless we show something very special on the field offensively this fall.
  7. I worry a little after reading other boards that it's possible that this committment was to nail down a destination while he continues to evaluate. He has to be impressed after his comments but I'm sure the pressure was on to take perhaps the last OL spot. Of the commits I would consider this one the least likely to sign in Feb 2011. But anyway you look at it you have to believe he is more likely to be N than not.
  8. "I think we have huge Depth at quarterback this year and next year. It should be interesting to see who wins at the position. Especially next year with Turner coming in and Brion Carnes being a sophmore and Cody Green being a junior next year. Also on that note, I'm still iffy about Zac Lee. I mean I know he just got out of surgery and everything but all these younger quarterbacks have been working and working and trying to get better and better. While Zac can't because of his recovery. I kind of feel bad for him because all these younger guys who are working hard at beating him for the job while he can just watch. " Huge depth? We don't know if we have anybody that can even be capable in the position unless we are playing Arizona or the Sunbelt schools. We had arguably the worst QB play in the conference. Your own post infers that our our starter all season who was obviously better in the coaches eyes than Green, is "iffy". You don't have "huge Depth" unless you have several people who can perform very well in the position. I am not satisfied that we have one very good D1 Qb on the roster. I'll settle for ONE decent QB and fuggitabout your huge depth.
  9. It may be great for fans to replay Misery last fall, but neither team gets to do that. The facts are that A) Over the long run we own the series, no question. B) Over the short term we have had our problems with Misery. We were blown out two years in a row ans shut out for 3quarters in the monsoon game before laying it on em in the 4th. C) We are at home this fall and should have a better offense and a less dominant defense, while they should have about the same offense and perhaps a better defense. At this point I would say that we are only the favorites due to the game is in Lincoln. That is a very good thing. I still think that game is key to winning the north. Once we do so the CCG is our next hurdle. But whether it is the Mizzou fans claiming "we were lucky" or the Husker fans claiming "we bllew them out" in the 09 game in Columbia, it is just silly. The game went our way under a very strange set of circumstances. Never have I seen so much rain and never did we see such offensive performance against big 12 competition last year than the 4th Qt. Just as they can well point to it for the preceding two blow outs Mixery layed on us, we can just say "scoreboard" as to last year's game. Next year right now I'd say is something that should make either fanbase a little nervous.
  10. I'm not measuring success solely on win/loss. It's bigger than that. I'm basing it off of Pelini's holistic understanding of Husker culture and his ability to right the ship in the proper direction. Of course there are gonna be bumps ahead. Every HC goes through it, regardless. Pete Carroll & Bob Stoops are going through it this year. Dr. Tom went through it. That's inevitable. While win/loss is part of the equation, it isn't the whole thing. That "holistic understanding" and 50cents will get you 1/3 a cup of coffee somewhere. It will be about wins and losses, you can make book on that. Carroll and Stoops, both had down years this year and their recruiting is such that I'd about guarantee you that they will be back in the top 5 and vying for a national title in the next couple years. Right now Bo has done an excellent job with what he has had to work with. Last year a good offense and this year a great defense. Obviously the same coach being HC this year did not have the same results on O. There is not the guarantee that the same HC can have the same results on D next year. Looking at threads about recruits who spurn us for another school will give you a look into how quickly a clunker of a season will turn around most of folks on Husker board. Check the job on Wats' --before season some were worried about Ohio State firing their coach and hiring Wats. After the offense tanked, there were many who wanted him fired. Same will happen to Bo if we misfire. It's the nature of the beast. If stoops or Carroll had a losing season next year, there would be intense pressure for a buyout. Bo will have 5 years to show what he can do with his recruiting and coaching at a minimum. I think he will do fine, annointing him as the messiah is a little premature. It is unfair to do anything but be happy with the W/L Bo has put up. Whether he turns out to be the next coach to lead Husker football to a national title will depend on his ability to recruit. It always does. Here's hoping he becomes a master at recruiting.
  11. This is getting silly. You seem to define ANIT-HOMERISM, whatever that is. It's my position that NU's staff identifies players before many other schools do. Others on this board seem to agree with that. Those same Cali schools you referenced have a lot of other WRs they can look at before having to do the research to find talent that is not getting the early love. RESEARCH: From the LJS-- "I only began playing receiver my sophomore year, because there were too many running backs." http://www.huskerextra.com/articles/2009/1...3c890298977.txt Kinda makes it hard to get the same number of offers as other WR when you've done it for ONE YEAR WHEN THE OTHER WRs HAVE DONE ALL HS. You haven't bagged on QE, but you seem obsessed with his lack of offers. Think the info above splashes that. But just in case you are not convinced, QE has been upgraded recently and now one tenth of a point behind CC in Rivals. And Scout has them both with two stars. QE is bigger, almost as fast and stronger than CC, who gets four starts from Rivals. Whatever . Anyone can see the silliness I simply pointed out. This very thread had about 12 pages of the same fans fawning all over Carter and many acting like our program could not survive without him. He looked around, Bo put the squeeze on him, Carter said F U. and now we have 3 or 4 pages claiming we never did really want the kid and we "cooled" on him cause he was a shrimp or cut him loose because of the Bo Doctrine and the California kid with 2 offers is vastly superior as is our two star WR recruit as a poster said a few posts back---Some posters on this site are some of the biggest hypocrits in college football. All fan boards are filled with homers but I really have to believe that some of you are tone deaf to your posts about these kids. You are in total adulation of them until they go somewhere else and then you spend all kinds of energy trying to tell people they really are not any good and we "cooled" on them. It's just silly unless you are high school students. We are hoping that Bo can recruit well. We don't know how that is going to work out and won't for another couple years. He's using players he did not recruit. My take is that Bo will become much more "smooth" in dealing with recurits and the media--and both the Pelinis will learn not to yell and pout at the other team at the end of a game when we are deemed the loser. It's a growing process. Bo will figure it out TO will help. Btw Teacherknowitall, I was never a Callahan fan. The screen name is nearly my name and has nothing to do with NU coaches present or past. Hope that helps .
  12. Some of our fans can't let up until they convince the world we really didn't want the guy, he's only 3 ft. 2 in. tall, weighs 96 pounds and runs a 6.2 forty. The fact the guy left is not enough for them to move on, he has to be shown to be unworthy of us.
  13. for someone so good at research, i'm shocked that you still haven't found a single example to support your claim that the "bo doctrine" is either new or temporary. It is so temporary I would say it is likely no longer in effect. We'll see as time goes by. This isn't the last time a kid is going to decide to check out another school after an oral committment. After blowing steam in the tirade the "Bo Doctrine" likely changed to a "flexible" policy quicker than Napalitano went from saying "Everything worked just like it should" to "That ain't the way it's sposed to work, somebody screwed up".
  14. I am personally good with Enunwa, and he has a 5.7 by Rivals, same as Sasser and, looks good. On the other hand I'm a little concerned that he had only one other offer, from Wash. State so it wasn't like teams were running all over themselves to get his services as EZE makes it sound. We got in on him early, he committed to us early, other teams stopped calling. Well there again that is just the homerism I mentioned talkiing. It's easy to check the facts. Enunwa committed to us on Oct 26. 2009 He had a visit with Wash State on 10/9 and a visit with us on 10/16. No other offers. OCT. 26 is NOT EARLY. The kid was not highly recruited for whatever reason and not a single offer from a California school. As a comparison, Keeston Terry, I think we had committed in June, maybe before and we were all thrilled regardless what EZ-E might be saying now. He COMMITTED early but had a nice offer list. Carter committed to us about the same time or earlier than Enunwa. Had many offers including Alabama. So your claim just falls flat about Enunwa's offer list not happening because he committed early. Don't get me wrong, I think he might be a good find, a hidden jewel--but keep in mind that there are few of those out there and it is just as likely that other teams saw something they didn't like. It's just the BS that some of our fans put out that gives us a bad name that I object to. Also to claim that we would rather have a two star kid than either of these four Stars, Carter and Terry or Sasser for that matter is just silly. I will be as happy as anyone looking at this board if our WRs in this class are All Big 12. But from a pure recruiting standpoint on WRs and Qbs, we suck this year.
  15. Well Recruiter, not all Husker fans agree with EZE. Some of us though hopeful, don't claim that every player we get is underrated and every player that goes somewhere else is overrated or we "cooled" on them. We've had a problem attracting top offensive players this year except for Heard. We obviously could have used some WRs in this class. You guys it looks like got some good ones and could have had two that we wanted badly. It was apparent that we wanted CC bad and just as apparent that we got tough with him about taking visits and he wasn't having any of it. Too bad, but that stuff happens. I am confident contrary to EZE's claims that we would love to have Sasser and CC over our two star WR. I am personally good with Enunwa, and he has a 5.7 by Rivals, same as Sasser and, looks good. On the other hand I'm a little concerned that he had only one other offer, from Wash. State so it wasn't like teams were running all over themselves to get his services as EZE makes it sound. Sasser had more offers but Texas did not offer him, though TTech and of course we did as well. The only WR that either one of us got that attracted attention from top programs was Lucas and I sure wish he would have taken a visit to Lincoln. He had offers from Tenn and OU along with many others. Congratulations on keeping him in state. You did really well on the offensive side of the ball this year and any claims that we did better there are just silly. On the other hand you had a lot of work to do on defense. Time will tell if we get the players to improve our offense or if you get those to improve your defense. As to EZ-E's claims for our 2011 class, we certainly hope to get some of those athletes in Lincoln. But this far out everybody is hopeful of the next class. Let's get this class in the books, hope we fill some needs. There's a whole lot of water to go under the bridge before Feb 2011 class goes in the book. We've bragged about several this year that were already committed that didn't work out. We would probably be better off bragging on the 2011 class being much better than Misery's --after signing date in 2011. But some fans of all teams just can't stand not having the better player every time so we make the recruits either great or over-rated depending on where they go. I think those fans come from Lake Wobegone, where all the children are above average. Good luck in your bowl Recruter.
  16. You can be rude and call something that is patently obvious "BS" if it makes you feel like a better man for doing so. Your opinion matters not a whit to me. I will simply agree to disagree with your take on the current situation and expect better recruiting in the future as the new coach and his staff grow.
  17. Whatever. Being a homer obviously makes objectivity tough to come by. But we do know that the offense sucks. We do know that we have had a 4 * QB and two 4* WRs decommit. That doesn't sound as great to me as it does to you. And you are right we'll see how things evolve. My take, Bo will grow and learn with each season and be more effective in both recruting and coaching and less volatile.
  18. Not that I am condoning it, but there must be a reason for it. My guess is that the NU coaches had some not so nice things to say to him around the time he decommitted. I'm saying this because Carter did take a visit to MU and obviously decided to go to TCU, but according to his interviews he had a good time in Columbia and liked the coaches. He hasn't said anything bad about Mizzou's program, so that has to make you wonder what was going on behind the scenes between NU's coaches and CC. You are right something happened. We were going to worship the ground he walks on. I think Bo went into a bit of a panic. As you know it was the week of the kid's MOO visit that our assistant coaches made an in home visit to Carter in La. It was similar to the way Gabbert was approached the week before he was to visit MOO. I think both players were told about the new "Bo Doctrine" that was announced a week or so after Carter decomitted. It seems that Bo thought he could stop the kid from shopping around and played hardball. Obviously it was unsuccessful and the kid was POed as was Gabbert and told our staff to stick it. That's not to say it was the wrong approach for Bo. It just didn't have the desired effect of stopping Carter from shopping. If Bo simply wanted to tell the kid about the "Bo Doctrine" (can't take visits after commit) he could have made a phone call. They thought they could keep the kid. Didn't work out and made him angry. And so he struck back a little bit. From what seems to have happened he didn't commit to Missouri on the week he visited and the next weekend they filled their class and he was told there would not be a spot at Missouri. Since they seemed to want Sasser and some Dbacks from Illinois that I'd never heard of more than Carter, and since LSU never offered Carter after losing their WR to Texas, I'm not sure how big a talent he was. But obviously our approach didn't have the effect Bo wanted. Perhaps his public announcement of the "Bo Doctrine" would have been better given at the time of visits than by an in home visit when the recruit has scheduled more visits. I think Bo is still learning and has a lot of learning to do on the recruiting front. please tell me why on earth you think bo's policy on commits is new or that these particular recruits were surprised by it. why do you think our staff has consistently told recruits to take their time before committing to be certain that they mean it? keep attacking the coaching staff under ridiculous pretenses and you'll keep looking ignorant when they continue to succeed. (and since you still don't seem to get it, i'll say again that our staff pulled gabbert's offer due to his dishonesty.) Give me a break. That "Policy" of Bo's came AFTER Gabbert and Carter left him and he was POed. And you can bet once he simmers down, like every other coach he will try to pressure really good kids to orally commit to us. And my guess is that in most cases rather than trying the hardball that didn't work this time, he will watch the kid take a visit and see if he won't stay committed. Very few schools can play "take it or leave it" with kids that have several offers. Bo was simply angry and came out with this speel after intimidation didn't work on either player. I don't blame him. I would hate to have the job of recruiting teenage kids. But the "Bo Doctrine" Announced after CC and TG left (if you don't believe it give me a link to a prior announcement) won't work in our program as it is right now. please offer proof that this policy was new, since you are the one making disparaging comments (about the coach of the team you purport to support). just because you only read about it in an article recently does not means it's new, it just means those that complain about recruiting often either don't have all of the facts or don't understand them. (please also offer proof that bo was PO'd, playing hardball, angry or attempting to intimidate.) I'm sorry but being a fan doesn't mean you check your common sense at the door. Bo's policy about not allowing recruits once orally committted to take an official visit to another school was said the week after Cater decommitted and visited Missouri and a week and a half after they met with Gabbert and he decommitted. Now you can believe that they sent a coach all the way to La. to tell Carter the same thing that you claim he was told before --that he couldn't visit another program, but you can do that on the phone. It is obvious to any thinking person that they thought they could play hardball and get Carter to not take other visits. It obviously ticked the kid off and he decommitted on the spot. Now we can say we told him we didn't want him or he wasn't good enough or whatever you please, but logic dictates what went on. Will such a policy work in the future? It will if you are a top 5 program nationally and you have 4 and 5* players anxious to jump aboard and a 3 star player is wanting to go look around.. It will work with kids for whom you are the top program by far that wants them--ie a two star kid. But kids in demand will not be intimidated by any school in the north if they decide for whatever reason they ought to check out another school. Do you really think if A Green commits to us in June next year and then decides he really ought to go out to USC in December next year that Bo will give him the hard nosed approach? Not a chance. He tried it. That policy he announced after the fact? It is as flexible as a hooker when she sees a wallet full of dead presidents. Bo is new to having the final say on how to handle recruiting. It is hard to put up with some of the things that these kids will do, but Bo will find like all other coaches that kids will sometimes decide they ought to check out another school before signing day. It's aggravating but NU currently is in no position to twist arms of desireable recruits. He will play the game better when he's been a HC 10 years instead of 2.

  21. Of course that's what my comment below indicated. All I said was all the talent and promise from those OL recruit need to materialize in to a unit this year. If he doesn't see a capable line this year from kids with game experience why would he put faith in more incoming freshman O-linemen. In order for your opinion to move from dream to reality he will need to see tremendous improvement from the offensive line. If we cant show that we will have a line in place that is improving for his arrival, I just cant see him coming here. You also make it sound like it has no chance of improving. The kids that Barney Cotton has brought in have been some pretty good finds. We are building depth at those positions which is something that we clearly lacked this year. Any time that freshman walk on to campus and are in you two deep rotation on the OL you know you werent deep from the start. Sirles, Qvale, Ash, and Coffey will all help and show promise next year as I expect all of them to see significant playing time. Here is the break down. Two classes above Aaron Green for the OL we have: Sirles-redshirted Qvale-redshirted Ash-redshirted Coffey-redshirted That means that they will all be redshirted Sophs when Aaron is ready to set foot on a college campus. One class above Aaron we have A Rod-should Redshirt by next year Moudy-should also redshirt next year Jake Cotton-who knows he may surprize people and be a guy who can add to our depth That means they will all be RS Freshman in 2011 In Aarons Class Ryne Reeves-committed-will probably be in the top 100 of his class Tyler Moore-committed-will be the top OT in his class (quote from Florida's OL coach) A few of the Prospects we are in on: Westerman-made his top 5 last I knew-he will also make the top 100 of his class Derek Farniok- new guy on the radar from North Dakota- He is 6ft8 300+ lbs. As you can see there is young talent on our line as well as talent that is coming in. Dont worry about the kids that are seniors and juniors right now as they will be gone by the time Aaron Green gets to a college campus. Hopefully ours. This is what I took into account when I made that statement earlier. A lot of people need to start seeing the big picture instead of one year that we were cursed by injury all around our OL. You once again misread my post. The youth we had on the line this year will be starters again next year with the people we red shirted. If after this year and next year we are improving before his arrival, I just cant see him coming here. My point being we can use the youth excuse this year but not next year when we return 4 starters. So IF and I said IF our OL play is just as bad I do not see him coming here. It all depends on what we look like next year as to whether we have a chance at all on this kid. Green has a ticket to go to any school in the country, with any system, any offensive line. He will most likely go to a top 5 program. (I realize that USC is not in the top 5 but look at their talent and they will be and have been for the last several years). We are simply not in the same conversation with schools like Tejas, USC, Alabama and OU when it comes to talent on offense. If by some miracle we get the act together and put up some great rushing stats and look like a top 5 or at least a top 10 in the nation offense then with the family connection, I"d think we'd be attractive. If we are still having threads about who to fire on offense. If we still have threads about what a joke our offense is. If we still have threads talking about N greatness soley based on a great defense----then Green will not be considering us other than with lip service. No back with a ticket to ride anywhere is going to pick a school with a scheme that does not showcase his talent and the personnel to run it. We have all of next season to prove we belong in the mix. If we don't have a big 12 leading running game, with an all big 12 RB next year, I would doubt A Green considers us seriously. The good news we have a whole season to show him we belong.
  22. It wasn't a game plan we lacked this year, it was the players capable of playing the offense. The 2008 version was simply light years better than this bunch starting at QB.
  23. I will be happy if we simply win our bowl game against a worthy opponent in Arizona. We got beat by Iowa State for gosh sakes. Saying we played UT close is for losers. The scoreboard is all that matters. You win or you lose. Though our D played lights out; we lost. All the p**&ing and moaning about shoulda woulda couldas doesn't change the fact we lost 3 games. Winning our bowl will set us up for a good spring and hopefully a better record next year. You don't get respect until you earn it by winning, especially winning on the road against good competition over a season with no "we oughta's" ala Alabama and even Texas. We have not done anything close to that for years. We go undefeated and are kept out of a NCG, then we would have a gripe. Beat Arizona!!
  24. I know that some of us before this year were very tired of getting creamed by Misery in the last few years. That's something that has not happened in modern times. Yet as much as I dislike Misery, I would hope the Big 11 takes Rutgers or Pitt. Though Misery is recruiting much better than in the past and will be very competitive in the North race for the next several years, I would rather have them to beat every year than Oklahoma to go to the CCG. Also, though it may help us a tiny bit with recruiting of players that UT and OU and now likely ATM don't want in talent rich Texas, we will likely become less able to recruit top players from Missouri. In the big 10 they will be on tv every week and they will have a lot more money than they currently get as a member of the big 12. The papers and talk radio along with TV will be all big 10 all the time Thekids in the state will quickily get attuned to the Big 10 teams and Rose Bowl goals. Misery will likely be quite competitive in the conference from the outset. Big 12 football won't be the big deal in a few years to Misery hicks. Texas and OU will continue to dominate the conference for the forseeable future and thus interest in playing for any team in the North of the big 12 will be down for the top in state talent. Missouri is the second most talent rich state in the Big 12 available to us. When we stop playing MU, there will not be much interest from Missouri kids in Husker football. Other Big 10 teams will become more attractive to kids that Misery can't or doesn't want to hold on to. Guys like Chase Rome and the two that committed and left would more likely have considered other Big 10 schools rather than NU. Having another Tejas team join with all festivities held in Jerry Jones stadium won't be a plus for NU
